Gu Yanjing rushed straight to Gu Zhengyu’s courtyard upon arriving at the old residence, and the people there imdiately went to inform Old Sir Gu.

Old Sir Gu had just gotten up from his afternoon nap, not even having ti to change his clothes, and rushed over.

Not seeing anyone as soon as he arrived, he began shouting outside.

Entering the living room, witnessing the scene before him, the old man almost had a heart attack.

"Yanjing! Yanjing!" The old man hurried to Gu Yanjing’s side, leaning on his cane, and grabbed his arm, saying, "Let go, let go!"

Gu Yanjing didn’t move.

The old man glanced at the convulsing Gu Zhengyu, anxious, "Gu Yanjing! If you take his life, it’s like you’re taking mine."

Hearing his words, Gu Yanjing slightly loosened his grip.

The old man threw down his cane, grabbed Gu Yanjing’s arm with both hands, and pulled him away.

Gu Zhengyu was released, lying on the table, his eyes lifelessly staring at the ceiling, showing no response.

The people supporting the old man quickly stepped forward to perform ergency asures.

The old man also moved forward, calling out to Gu Zhengyu repeatedly.

Gu Yanjing stood aside coldly.

Fresh air entered his body, and Gu Zhengyu soon showed reactions. He curled up, his eyes bloodshot, breathing heavily, the taste of blood lingering in his throat.

Old Sir Gu patted his back to help regulate his breathing.

Seeing him react, Gu Yanjing coldly asked, "Have your people been to the Sixth Hospital?"

"What’s wrong with Yan An?" Old Sir Gu looked at Gu Yanjing and asked.

Gu Yanjing did not look at him or speak.

The old man looked back at Gu Zhengyu: "Speak, have your people been to the Sixth Hospital! Have you seen Yan An!"

"No, no." Gu Zhengyu croaked, "I don’t know what happened."

"Really?" Old Sir Gu sternly asked, "What about that woman?"

"She wouldn’t dare." Gu Zhengyu gasped heavily.

Gu Zhengyu now didn’t dare to lie, nor did he need to, especially when speaking to Old Sir Gu.

Obtaining the answer, Gu Yanjing did not linger for a second, leaving imdiately.

With no connection to Gu Zhengyu, Gu Yanjing couldn’t fathom who else could avoid surveillance and take soone away.

Everything from back then had been obliterated.

Almost no one knew his mother was in the hospital.

Several hours had passed, and no one had called him. He had sent people out to search, but there was no news for now.

Capital City is too vast, bustling in so places, chaotic in others.

Thorough investigation requires ti.

But his mother’s condition is urgently ti-sensitive.

Gu Yanjing felt sowhat agitated, subconsciously pressing the accelerator a bit more.

Just when he was irritated, his phone rang.

Gu Yanjing imdiately looked at the caller ID, seeing it was Qiao Yuxian’s call, a glimr of hope raised in his heart imdiately dropped.

He took a deep breath lightly, hesitated for a mont but still answered the call, before he could speak, Qiao Yuxian started, "Gu Yanjing, that..."

Her voice was a bit stiff, speaking not very smoothly: "That... I am with Aunt, no, your mother..."

Gu Yanjing suddenly slamd his foot on the brake, bringing the car to a halt on the road.

Luckily, there were few cars on this stretch, otherwise, it would’ve certainly caused a rear-end collision.

"What?" Gu Yanjing’s expression montarily blanked, then he quickly asked, "Where are you?"

"Currently at West Bridge Subway Station." Qiao Yuxian’s voice also conveyed a surreal sense of disbelief.

She couldn’t believe she t Gu Yanjing’s mother while taking the subway.

Hearing this location, a flash of surprise and helplessness crossed Gu Yanjing’s eyes, and he drove towards West Bridge: "I’ll be right over."

"Okay." Qiao Yuxian replied, "I’ll share my location with you."

"Mm." Gu Yanjing finished responding, then said, "Qiao Yuxian."

"Mm?"

"My mother’s ntal state is not very stable, sotis exhibiting extre behaviors." Gu Yanjing said, "Towards herself, or those around her."

Qiao Yuxian hesitated for a mont, then said, "Got it. Don’t worry."

"Mm."

Hanging up the call, Gu Yanjing imdiately made a call to Su Qi.

He asked the person closer to West Bridge to head there first.

...

After finishing the phone call, Qiao Yuxian found a place with Yan An to wait for Gu Yanjing to arrive.

On the last day of the holiday, Qiao Lech was in decent shape, his injuries recovering quite well.

After lunch, Qiao Yuxian left the Qiao Family.

She took a cab back to her own place.

Spending two hours at her own place, as she was leaving, she found a subway card placed on the cabinet by the door.

So she took the subway card and headed to the subway station.

Returning to Fenglin Villa from West Mountain required three transfers.

During the first transfer, Qiao Yuxian encountered Yan An.

At that ti, there were quite a few people boarding and alighting, and Qiao Yuxian bumped into Yan An.

During their apology, Qiao Yuxian recognized Yan An.

Last ti visiting the old residence, Qiao Yuxian had seen photos of Gu Yanjing’s mother. Although it was from a long ti ago, Yan An hadn’t changed much and bore a strong resemblance to Gu Yanjing.

Qiao Yuxian instantly recognized her.

"Auntie?" She recognized her and subconsciously called out.

Yan An wore a dark ankle-length floral dress, a light-colored trench coat on the outside, her hair styled elegantly, exuding grace.

Her phoenix eyes were beautiful, adorned with a smile, embracing warmth. Her voice was gentle and soft: "You know ?"

"I know your son." Qiao Yuxian replied with a smile.

"Friend of Yanjing?" Yan An asked.

"Yes." Qiao Yuxian walked with her to the side, "Auntie, why are you here? Where are you heading?"

Given Gu family’s stature, the mother of the Gu family’s head, it wouldn’t be unusual for her to leave with an entourage.

Most likely, she shouldn’t be in such a crowded subway station.

Or a station with worse conditions than others.

"I wanted to co out to buy sothing. It’s been a long ti since I ca out, I got lost coming out." Yan An observed Qiao Yuxian carefully as she spoke.

Qiao Yuxian felt a bit awkward under her gaze and smiled slightly: "Auntie, why didn’t you let soone from the house accompany you?"

"Yanjing has people watching every day, it’s so annoying. As if I’d trip, bump, or get lost." Yan An spoke softly, "I ditched them and snuck out."

Yan An spoke gently, in a quiet tone.

If she hadn’t ntioned Gu Yanjing having people watch her every day and sneaking out in those two statents, Qiao Yuxian would’ve entirely missed it.

After hearing those two statents, Qiao Yuxian found a chance to call Gu Yanjing.

And inford him.

When investigating the Gu family, there was very little information regarding Gu Yanjing’s mother.

Gu Yanjing carried a reputation for being a patricide.

The outside world believed his mother was gone.

But Qiao Yuxian found out his mother was still alive, though the only thing she found was her survival. As for everything else, there was nothing.

So she didn’t know why Gu Yanjing had people watching his mother. To be safe, she inford Gu Yanjing first.

And just now during the call, Qiao Yuxian distinctly felt the tension in Gu Yanjing’s voice.
