At D Continent.

The place where Gu Yanjing and the others live is called Taohua Manor.

It’s nad because there are many peach blossoms inside.

It’s a foothold for the Gu Family and the Lu Family in D Continent.

This area is entirely managed by Lu ngyi.

Almost everything is decided by Lu ngyi.

Unless it’s a major issue, Gu Yanjing needs to be inford and agrees with the decision.

All other matters are decided by Lu ngyi.

Therefore, there are relatively more people from the Lu Family here.

Also, because there are many from the Lu Family, Lu ngyi repeatedly instructed them to be respectful to Qiao Yuxian.

But the more Lu ngyi instructed them, the more dissatisfied they beca.

However, they could only hide this dissatisfaction in their hearts and maintain appearances.

Only Lu Muyao openly displayed his displeasure.

And Qiao Yuxian didn’t care whether they were satisfied or not.

She wasn’t in the mood to sense their feelings.

Upon arriving at Taohua Manor, Qiao Yuxian first t Lu Muyao and Lu ngyi.

After chatting with them for a while, she went back to her room to rest.

She hadn’t rested well in the hospital for the past seven days, so when she returned to her room, she washed up briefly and fell asleep as soon as she lay down on the bed.

She slept from the afternoon straight until it was dark.

After dark, Gu Yanjing ca to call her for dinner.

The room’s lights were off, and Gu Yanjing relied on the moonlight outside the window to walk to the bedside and gently touched Qiao Yuxian’s face.

Perhaps it was because she was too exhausted both ntally and physically.

Qiao Yuxian hadn’t moved at all after she lay down.

She had been sleeping in the sa position for several hours.

Without opening her eyes, Qiao Yuxian directly grasped Gu Yanjing’s hand, rubbing her face against his palm.

Gu Yanjing leaned down and kissed her lightly, "Eat sothing before continuing to sleep?"

"Mm." Qiao Yuxian responded but then fell silent. After a while, she said, "Gu Yanjing, will you lie down with for a while?"

"Sure." Gu Yanjing lay down on the bed, holding her in his arms.

Qiao Yuxian snuggled closer into his chest, "Hold tighter."

Gu Yanjing tightened his embrace.

Qiao Yuxian buried her head in his shoulder without saying anything further.

In the darkness, the two embraced, feeling each other’s warmth and listening to each other’s soft breathing.

For a long ti, long enough for Gu Yanjing to think that Qiao Yuxian was already asleep.

Qiao Yuxian called his na in a muffled voice.

"Gu Yanjing."

"Mm," Gu Yanjing responded.

Qiao Yuxian’s hand rested on his waist as she said, "Liu Zhou told that your people were on Qiang’an Mountain that day."

Gu Yanjing gently responded as he stroked her long hair.

"Gu Yanjing," Qiao Yuxian called his na again, then fell silent.

Gu Yanjing held her.

"I hope it wasn’t your people," Qiao Yuxian said softly after a pause.

"If it was, I would give you an explanation," Gu Yanjing replied.

"I will seek my own justice," Qiao Yuxian said quietly, "In this place, what you want depends on your ability. If you’re not as skilled, naturally there’s a price to pay. But if my people get hurt, I will seek revenge. Naturally, you can then seek revenge for your people afterward."

Gu Yanjing’s fingers ran through Qiao Yuxian’s long hair as he gently stroked her head. After a mont, he said, "Okay."

Hearing his agreent, Qiao Yuxian adjusted her head on his shoulder and lay still, "I don’t want to eat. Can you stay with while I sleep?"

"Mm," Gu Yanjing gently kissed her cheek, "Sleep."

Qiao Yuxian clutched at the fabric at his waist, falling asleep in no ti.

Gu Yanjing held her, his hand on her head, and once she was asleep, he moved slightly back to look at her.

The room was dark, with a bit of moonlight spilling in.

Gu Yanjing looked down, watching Qiao Yuxian sleep quietly.

After a mont, he gently stroked her face.

Her words earlier, spoken so softly, but he could sense the resolve in her tone.

Wen Mingcheng’s injuries were severe, nearly fatal.

She was resolved to kill.

She was reminding him.

Letting him be prepared.

Gu Yanjing gently stroked her face, then pulled her back into his embrace after a while...

...

Qiao Yuxian rested at Taohua Manor for two days.

On the second day of her rest, Wen Mingcheng woke up.

When she received Liu Zhou’s call, both Gu Yanjing and Shang Chen were out.

Lu ngyi and Lu Muyao were also out.

When they left, Qiao Yuxian joked that she would stay ho to watch the house.

In less than two hours...

She didn’t let anyone drive her; she just took a car from the garage and left.

At the hospital, the doctor told her that when soone wakes up, it still might take so ti.

After all, his injuries were severe.

Coming from the ergency room to the ICU was like snatching a life back from King Yama.

Now, being in a regular ward, it was a sign of improvent.

So when Qiao Yuxian got the call that Wen Mingcheng was awake, there was a mont when she thought she had heard wrong.

By the ti she arrived at the hospital, Wen Mingcheng had fallen back asleep.

The person was too weak, having just woken up briefly and then sleeping again not long after.

Qiao Yuxian hurried into the ward and, seeing him asleep, quickly softened her movents.

On the way there, Liu Zhou had already called her to give a brief update.

The doctor had checked, and there were no issues.

Waking up was a good sign.

But the person was still too weak and required careful, ongoing care.

Qiao Yuxian quietly made her way to the bedside and glanced at Wen Mingcheng.

Seeing him sleep soundly, she sat in the chair by the bed.

Just as she sat down, Wen Mingcheng opened his eyes again.

Qiao Yuxian was suddenly startled, "Uncle Wen?"

Wen Mingcheng looked at her, nodded slightly after a mont.

After he responded, Qiao Yuxian stared dazedly at him for a few seconds, then pulled her chair closer to the bed, holding Wen Mingcheng’s wrist, "Uncle Wen."

"Mm," Wen Mingcheng noted her eyes reddening instantly, "It’s okay now."

Qiao Yuxian’s throat felt dry and painful, unable to speak, so she just nodded.

Liu Zhou watched this scene from the side.

He found it a bit novel.

These two always bickered upon eting, and now seeing them so harmonious, it seed unusual.

From the ti Qiao Yuxian first went to Yao Mountain Island, such a small girl, Wen Mingcheng liked to tease her.

Sotis, Qiao Yuxian would ignore him for days due to it.

In her courtyard on Yao Mountain Island, there’s still a wall with "Bad Uncle" written all over it. It’s all about Wen Mingcheng.

Brought up from a young age, whenever Wen Mingcheng provoked her, she’d write it there.

A whole wall.

Later, she even posted a photo of Wen Mingcheng on it.

But out of all the elders, apart from Mr. Huo, Qiao Yuxian was closest to Wen Mingcheng.

Wen Mingcheng liked her too.

That’s why he was willing to co from Yao Mountain Island to the country.

First, to help manage Yunzhong Building for her.

Second, to protect her in the Capital City.

He usually didn’t interfere with her, but would allow her to do anything she wanted.

If she couldn’t resolve sothing, he’d back her up.

"Alright, don’t cry," Wen Mingcheng said, "See, I’m awake, everything’s okay."

"It hurts a lot," Qiao Yuxian said, grasping his wrist and not looking at him as tears welled up in her eyes and she said in a hoarse voice.

Wen Mingcheng’s gaze softened at her teary eyes, "It’s alright."

She nodded, unable to say anything due to a dry and sore throat.

"What?! You’re not even married yet," she said, lifting her eyes to look at him, shocked. "You’re already getting up there in age, so of course sothing like this happens and no one would want you thereafter!"

Speaking, tears welled up even more in Qiao Yuxian’s eyes.

Yet Wen Mingcheng was sure that at that mont, she was not that sad.
