Early the next morning, the sky was still sowhat dark when Gu Yanjing woke up.
He opened his eyes and looked at the person asleep in his arms.
Qiao Yuxian was resting her head on his arm, her hand on his body, and her leg draped over his leg; her long eyelashes hung low, sleeping peacefully.
As long as she was held in his arms, she could sleep like this all night.
Gu Yanjing watched her for a while, kissed her forehead and eyelids, and then slowly withdrew his arm.
The mont he moved, Qiao Yuxian woke up. She pulled her hand and leg off him, looked at him briefly, and closed her eyes again.
"Is it ti?" she mumbled sleepily.
Gu Yanjing always woke up earlier than her, so she assud it was ti to get up.
But today’s sky seed darker than usual, so she asked again, "Why is it so dark?"
Gu Yanjing raised his body, touched her face, and said, "It’s overcast."
"Oh." Qiao Yuxian turned over and lay flat on the bed.

ng Yan’s eyes widened slightly; he hesitated before saying, "What about Old Sir Gu over there..."
"Consider it as giving him a heads-up today," Gu Yanjing said.
"Alright," ng Yan responded.

The Gu Mansion is not far from Jingyu Garden.
Not long after, they arrived.
When Gu Yanjing arrived at Old Sir Gu’s room, the old man had just woken up.
Seeing him, the old man was sowhat surprised: "Why have you co at this ti?"
Gu Yanjing supported him to the bathroom: "Hmm."
The old man just humd in response, gave him a glare, and asked after two seconds, "Is Yu Xian here? Did Yu Xian co?"
"No," Gu Yanjing replied with two words.
The old man wasn’t any happier watching him first thing in the morning: "Then what are you here for?"
Gu Yanjing looked at him.
"What are you looking at?" the old man glared, "You’re not keeping your wife company in the morning, but coming here to scare people?! That’s ridiculous! Do you think I can be easily scared?"
Gu Yanjing said nothing.
"Get out, I need to use the bathroom," the old man said.
"Can you manage on your own?" Gu Yanjing asked.
"It’s not like I’m disabled," the old man snapped, "Get out, get out."
Gu Yanjing waited outside the bathroom.
Ever since the old man had a fall going to the bathroom at night, he always had soone accompanying him.
Gu Yanjing waited outside and then accompanied him to wash up, helped him change clothes, and took him to stroll around the courtyard.
"Silent one, I had soone do a divination yesterday," the old man suddenly said.
Gu Yanjing supported him and glanced at him.
The old man chuckled, "They said our family will have a new addition next spring."
Gu Yanjing looked at him.
"Considering the ti, if it’s spring next year, it ans either this month or next," the old man smiled at him.
Gu Yanjing said expressionlessly, "You’ve been conned."
"Impossible!" the old man exclaid.

"Why is it impossible?" the old man asked again, "You can’t do it?"
Gu Yanjing stopped walking to look at him.

"She hasn’t graduated yet," Gu Yanjing said softly.
The old man’s lips moved, but he remained silent.

The old man responded.

The four of them went together to the dining room for breakfast.
The process was quiet and nobody spoke. There was a tense, silent atmosphere around the table.
The old man naturally sensed sothing.
From the early visit of Gu Yanjing, he was already prepared ntally.
As they were about to finish, Gu Yanjing suddenly asked, "What has second uncle been busy with lately?"
Gu Linhai, sitting opposite him, looked at him, paused, and replied, "Just wrapped up so company matters recently, now taking a break and visiting."
