Qiao Yuxian spent the whole day in the Buddha Hall.

Yuan Wei wasn’t outside waiting the whole ti. He ca to pick her up at six in the evening, but after waiting outside for half an hour without seeing her, he went to the side room of the west wing.

He stayed in the side room until eight in the evening, and Qiao Yuxian still hadn’t co out.

It was Uncle Quan who ca and said there was a visitor outside whom he didn’t recognize, hadn’t seen for many years, and asked Yuan Wei to check it out.

So Yuan Wei went to the front yard.

Within less than five minutes of them leaving, Qiao Yuxian ca out from the Buddha Hall.

There’s no fireworks ban in Yue City, so fireworks were being set off around this ti.

Qiao Yuxian looked up at the colorful fireworks exploding in the sky, suddenly rembering the ti when her grandparents were still around, releasing fireworks together every New Year’s Eve.

It felt like she hadn’t set off fireworks for a long ti.

The Qiao Mansion seed like it hadn’t been lively for a long ti.

Clearly, so people always lived here, just two less than before.

Yet it was quiet, so silent as if the courtyard had lost all its people.

Qiao Yuxian looked up for a while, suddenly wanting to go back into the Buddha Hall to sit with her grandparents for a bit longer.

Thinking so, she was about to turn back to the Buddha Hall.

Just as she was turning, Uncle Quan ca over: "Yu Xian."

Qiao Yuxian turned back, noticing his hurried pace, she asked: "Uncle Quan, what’s the matter?"

"A guest has arrived at the house," Uncle Quan replied.

Qiao Yuxian showed a hint of confusion on her face. What kind of guest visits soone else’s house on New Year’s Eve instead of being at their own ho: "Who?"

Uncle Quan looked at her, speaking a bit awkwardly: "Yuan Wei asked to tell you, that love-lost brain has co."

Qiao Yuxian was slightly stunned amidst the colorful fireworks, taking a while before asking, still sowhat uncertain: "The particularly handso one?"

"Yes. Very handso," Uncle Quan replied, "But seems quite difficult to get along with."

Qiao Yuxian was stunned again, feeling like she was either imagining things or dreaming.

How could he possibly co?

Not celebrating at his own ho, why co here?

"Yu Xian?" Uncle Quan called out to her again.

Qiao Yuxian snapped back, glanced at Uncle Quan, then said: "Uncle Quan, I’ll go check the front yard first."

"Alright, alright."

After Uncle Quan replied, Qiao Yuxian imdiately ran towards the front yard.

"Slow down, be careful, it’s dark, watch your step, don’t rush," Uncle Quan did not expect her to run, quickly advising from behind.

"Got it." Qiao Yuxian replied, and she was already out of sight.

Qiao Yuxian ran all the way to the front yard. At the main house doorway, she saw Su Qi and ng Yan.

"Madam, Boss Lady," ng Yan and Su Qi both greeted with smiles, "Happy New Year."

Qiao Yuxian was panting a bit from the run, but upon seeing them, she imdiately smiled: "Happy New Year."

As soon as the words fell, Gu Yanjing walked out from the room.

Seeing him, Qiao Yuxian’s smile deepened, filled with surprise and emotion.

She looked at him for a while then ran towards him, directly crashing into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Gu Yanjing hugged her, leaning down slightly to let her hold more comfortably.

Aunt Zhao and Yuan Wei had been accompanying Gu Yanjing in the living room. Seeing him get up, they followed him out.

Yuan Wei remained expressionless, but Aunt Zhao appeared utterly shocked, mouth agape, and seed dumbfounded.

Uncle Quan quickly ca over, seeing them hugging, he was also startled, stumbling back a couple of steps.

After they embraced for a while, Qiao Yuxian buried her face in the nook of his neck, whispering: "Gu Yanjing."

"Hmm."

"Gu Yanjing."

"Hmm."

"Gu Yanjing."

"Hmm."

Qiao Yuxian laughed softly: "Why did you co?"

Gu Yanjing held her, patted her head without saying anything.

Qiao Yuxian asked: "Did you miss ?"

"Hmm."

Hearing his answer, Qiao Yuxian hugged him even tighter: "But we just t yesterday."

Before Gu Yanjing could speak, she continued: "But it feels like I haven’t seen you in ages, I’ve missed you so, so much."

Gu Yanjing kissed her on the top of her head.

Off to the side, Yuan Wei, who had been watching them intently, gave a loud cough.

Only then did Qiao Yuxian rember there were others around. She hurriedly pulled away from his embrace, glanced at Yuan Wei and Aunt Zhao, then back at Gu Yanjing.

Gu Yanjing looked at her slightly red eye corners, and gently touched her face.

Qiao Yuxian held his hand, and Gu Yanjing led her into the living room.

ng Yan, Su Qi, and Uncle Quan all followed into the living room.

Qiao Yuxian introduced them: "This is Uncle Quan, and this is Aunt Zhao. They live at Qiao Mansion and help manage it."

Those always at Qiao Mansion must be important to Qiao Yuxian.

Gu Yanjing said: "Uncle Quan, Aunt Zhao."

The couple looked at Gu Yanjing, dumbfounded, replying in a daze.

The couple had little interaction with many people. Before coming to Yue City, they were farming in the countryside, and after arriving, they worked for the Qiao Family. They didn’t et many people.

The elderly Qiao couple were very kind people.

They had never t soone with such an aloof aura, seeming so unapproachable.

Truly like a high and unattainable presence.

The couple was both surprised and uneasy.

Qiao Yuxian, seeing their expressions, paused and then introduced: "This is Gu Yanjing. He is my..."

Gu Yanjing tilted his head to look at her.

Qiao Yuxian pondered over her words and said: "He is my husband."

Mr. Gu felt a satisfied and happy warmth in his heart.

"Ah?" Aunt Zhao exclaid in surprise, looking towards her.

Uncle Quan also looked over, then hesitated before asking: "You’re married? When did this happen?"

Qiao Yuxian nodded at them: "In August."

The two were stunned into silence once more.

Qiao Yuxian went on to introduce ng Yan and Su Qi.

When ng Yan and Su Qi started talking to them, they finally began to react a bit.

Aunt Zhao asked: "Have you eaten yet?"

She directed the question at Su Qi.

She really didn’t dare to look at Gu Yanjing.

For soone so beautiful, how could he be so intimidating?

Su Qi looked at Gu Yanjing and said: "Not yet."

"That’s perfect. We made dumplings, join us to eat so together," Uncle Quan said.

"Those we made won’t be enough, right?" Qiao Yuxian asked.

Aunt Zhao and Uncle Quan didn’t say anything.

Qiao Yuxian, with a smile, said: "So let’s trouble everyone to be hungry for a bit and make so together."

ng Yan, Su Qi: "??????"

Gu Yanjing also looked at Qiao Yuxian.

Qiao Yuxian looked up at him, her eyes smiling brightly, "Mr. Gu, no al is free, DIY helps self-sustained living."

Gu Yanjing patted her head.

And then... a group of people went to the east wing to make dumplings.

There were quite a few people, but apart from Aunt Zhao, Uncle Quan, and Qiao Yuxian, no one else knew how to make them.

Not even enough to cause trouble.

But Qiao Yuxian didn’t let them slack off.

Even if they couldn’t roll the skins, she made them try. If they couldn’t make dumplings, she made them attempt.

She held her phone, taking pictures and videos around...
