Qiao Yuxian had a check-up at the West Hospital and then went to the Central Hospital.

Results ca out in half a day.

Qiao Yuxian is in great health; aside from a mild viral infection, there are no issues.

It’s just a common virus, and after taking the dication Huang Qi gave last night, she’s already recovered more than half. Now, apart from being hungry and pretending, she’s as lively as a rabbit.

"Jingxian Building, Jingxian Building, Jingxian Building..." Qiao Yuxian kept muttering this after leaving the hospital, repeating it over and over.

She muttered all the way until she entered the lobby of Jingxian Building, where she finally stopped.

She ate a al that made her belly full, and as she touched her belly, which was about to bulge out, she finally felt satisfied and happy.

Seeing her touch her belly, Gu Yanjing, sitting next to her, reached out to touch it too.

"Huh?!" Qiao Yuxian covered her belly with both hands and looked at him fiercely, "What are you doing?! Did you buy a ticket? Just touching as you please."

Gu Yanjing looked at her calmly and said, "Does the marriage license count as a ticket?"

"It counts." Qiao Yuxian raised her eyebrows mischievously, "But where is your ticket?"

The expression in Gu Yanjing’s eyes paused.

Qiao Yuxian’s eyebrows were raised high.

Gu Yanjing looked at her for a while, got up, and helped her put on a coat.

Qiao Yuxian was like an emotionless Barbie doll, letting him dress her.

Except she had a more puzzled expression than a Barbie doll, "What are you doing?"

Gu Yanjing gave her his coat and said, "Civil Affairs Bureau."

"What?" Qiao Yuxian was more confused, "What????"

"To update the certificate." Gu Yanjing put on his own coat.

"What???????" Qiao Yuxian hadn’t reacted yet when Gu Yanjing took her hand and left the private room.

The servers outside escorted them.

ng Yan went to get the car, and Gu Yanjing pulled Qiao Yuxian outside. As they walked, she murmured softly, "Why update the certificate? After updating, do you want to d-divorce..."

She didn’t finish her sentence.

Gu Yanjing stopped walking and looked at her.

Qiao Yuxian imdiately fell silent.

She even inhaled sharply, as if sucking the last word back in.

Then she pursed her lips and stared at him with big, pretty, innocent eyes.

"What were you going to say?" Gu Yanjing asked coldly.

Qiao Yuxian shook her head like a rattle drum, lips tightly pursed.

Gu Yanjing glanced at her, tucked her hair behind her ear, and continued to lead her outside.

Qiao Yuxian followed him obediently.

After getting outside, they got into the car. Once settled, Qiao Yuxian sneakily took a look at him and then asked quietly, "Where are we going?"

"Ho," Gu Yanjing replied.

Upon hearing the word "divorce," Mr. Gu imdiately changed his mind.

ng Yan responded, "Yes."

Qiao Yuxian glanced at him again, and when he looked back at her, she chuckled sneakily.

Gu Yanjing pinched her cheek lightly.

Qiao Yuxian chuckled again and then looked at the front at ng Yan.

Seeing him focusing on driving, Qiao Yuxian held Gu Yanjing’s hand, leaned forward, and bracing her arm on the armrest, quickly pecked him on the cheek.

The peck was swift, like a dragonfly touching the surface, and she imdiately returned to her seat.

Gu Yanjing’s left eyebrow slightly raised after the gentle touch on his cheek.

Then he saw the young lady scrunched in her seat, face buried in her coat collar, and after a few seconds, she pulled up the hood at the back, hiding completely.

Gu Yanjing chuckled lightly.

His chuckle was so soft.

ng Yan shivered in the front seat and instinctively checked the rearview mirror, catching the sight of Mr. Gu’s eyes tinged with amusent.

Using his decade-long driving experience, he managed to keep the car steadily on the road.

In these few short months, Mr. Gu had smiled more than in the past years combined.

But after years of getting used to his unsmiling deanor, the sudden increase in the frequency of his smile was a bit unsettling and intimidating.

...

Qiao Yuxian stayed ho for two days due to her period, knitting all the while.

It was cold outside; cold air swept through, bringing strong winds. Gu Yanjing advised her not to go out, and she had no desire to either.

After knitting a scarf for another day, Gu Yanjing ssaged her at 5:30, letting her know he’d be ho later than usual.

There was a dinner he needed to attend.

Seeing the ssage, Qiao Yuxian chuckled and replied with a voice ssage, "Got it. I want strawberry and hawthorn candied plums."

Gu Yanjing replied quickly: [Okay.]

Looking at his reply, Qiao Yuxian sent him a sticker with two little rabbits. One rabbit was making the other fall onto the ground, spoiling it with kisses.

Mr. Gu, upon receiving the sticker, saw the little hearts popping up as they kissed, and a fleeting deep thought crossed his eyes.

But it vanished in a flash.

Almost instantly, he reverted to his cool, distant deanor.

At Fenglin Villa, after replying to the ssage, Qiao Yuxian casually browsed her phone when suddenly, Chen Hui called her.

Chen Hui wouldn’t call without reason.

Qiao Yuxian hurriedly answered the call, but before she could speak, she heard the small voice of Qiao Zhiang: "Sis."

As soon as he said "Sis," Qiao Zhiang choked up.

Qiao Yuxian imdiately got up, grabbed her coat, and started walking outside, "Zhiang, what’s wrong?"

"Sis. My mom, my mom..." Qiao Zhiang stuttered through his tears, "That little fatty’s family beat my mom, she’s in hospital now. My mom’s face is bleeding a lot."

Qiao Yuxian grabbed the car keys while changing shoes at the entrance, her expression sinking as she listened to what he said, "Where are you?"

"I’m at the hospital," Qiao Zhiang kept sobbing.

Qiao Yuxian finished changing shoes and hurried to the garage, "Where’s Dad?"

"Mom’s in the ergency room, Dad just went to pay the fees," Qiao Zhiang said, "My sister and I are waiting outside."

"Which hospital?" Qiao Yuxian asked.

"Chengjian Hospital," Qiao Zhiang replied.

"Okay, I got it," Qiao Yuxian said, "Stay close to your sister, don’t wander off in the hospital."

Hanging up the call, Qiao Yuxian drove straight out of Fenglin Villa.

Once she arrived at the hospital, Chen Hui was already in the ward.

She got the exact location from Qiao Lech and went straight to the ward.

Chen Hui’s body was covered in injuries, with seven stitches to a wound on her temple, and a very pronounced slap mark on her face swollen high. Her right lip corner was cracked, her lips completely swollen.

The injuries on her body were nurous.

Her collarbone, both arms, legs, all were covered in bruises, scratches, wounds, and two broken ribs.

She was so swollen that she was unrecognizable.

Luckily, none of her internal organs were damaged.

When Qiao Yuxian entered the ward, Chen Hui was awake but still out of it due to the anesthetic effects.

Qiao Zhiang’s little voice had been rendered hoarse from crying; his eyes were swollen like walnuts as he stood vigil by Chen Hui’s bedside.

Qiao Lech’s eyes were swollen too.

After understanding the injuries from Qiao Lech, she communicated with the doctor.

Qiao Yuxian suddenly realized she hadn’t seen Qiao Yu.

"Where’s Dad?" Qiao Yuxian asked.

Qiao Lech looked around too, saying, "He was here when we first arrived at the ward, holding mom’s hand and talking. Did he go to see a doctor..."

She didn’t finish her sentence but went silent, suddenly looking at Qiao Yuxian.

Qiao Yuxian had just returned from the doctor, having not seen him at all. The two exchanged glances, and Qiao Lech called Qiao Yu, trying twice with no answer.

"Sis." Qiao Lech looked anxiously at Qiao Yuxian, noticing she was looking down, typing swiftly on her phone.

The phone screen was filled with line after line of code......
