Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Guilt
We fussed over this the whole morning!
Su Yunjin and Gu Ya were both sowhat fatigued, Gu Ya was still okay, as a man, he wasn’t very tired, but Su Yunjin’s body was originally weak, and after the exertion of most of the day, she felt quite worn out. Gu Ya was attentive, he noticed his little wife seed tired.
Upon returning to the Gu Family, Gu Ya looked at his wife and said, “Yunjin, if you’re tired, go back to the room and lie down for a while. When the al is ready, I’ll call you.”
“Mm! My husband, I will go lie down for a while.” Su Yunjin was indeed tired and wanted to rest on the bed. She didn’t refuse Gu Ya’s suggestion.
The husband and wife entered the room one after the other, Su Yunjin walked straight to the bed intending to take off her clothes and sleep. However, before she could lie down, Mrs. An walked in and said to Su Yunjin, “Third son’s wife, your father has sothing to say to you. Co with .”
“Mother, what does father want to say to ?” Su Yunjin looked at Mrs. An with so puzzlent, wondering what Gu Ya’s father needed to say to her.
...
Mrs. An shook her head at Su Yunjin, “Third son’s wife, I don’t know what your father wants to say to you. He just said he wanted to see you!”
After hearing Mrs. An’s words, Su Yunjin stepped forward and said to her, “Mother, in that case, I will go with you to see father right now.”
And so, Su Yunjin followed Mrs. An all the way to Lord Gu Chengxiang’s room. Since awakening earlier, Gu Chengxiang had been half-sitting in bed, not sleeping again.
“Father, you wanted to see ?” As Su Yunjin entered, she imdiately asked Lord Gu Chengxiang who, upon seeing her, had a face darkened by anger over Gu Changshun which now softened sowhat, “Third son’s wife, sit!” Lord Gu Chengxiang gestured to a wooden stool for Su Yunjin to sit on.
Su Yunjin didn’t say anything and just sat down on that stool. Once she was seated, Lord Gu Chengxiang started speaking, “Third son’s wife, today’s events have wronged you and the third son. It is our Gu Family’s fault for not teaching Changshun well, leading him to commit such a grave mistake against you!”
Lord Gu Chengxiang looked at Su Yunjin with a face full of guilt. However, the incident wasn’t the fault of her father-in-law, and the wrongdoing of that scoundrel Gu Changshun could not be placed upon Lord Gu Chengxiang. Moreover, today’s matter saw him on her side. How could Su Yunjin bla her father-in-law for the situation?
“Father, don’t talk like that! This matter doesn’t concern you, and you shouldn’t feel any guilt towards !” Su Yunjin said.
Her attitude was very sincere, and it was at this mont that Gu Ya also ca in and said to his father, “Yunjin is right, father, you can’t be blad for this. It’s the mistake Gu Changshun committed, and he should bear the consequences. Besides, Gu Changshun has already received the punishnt and lesson he deserved. Let’s put this matter behind us. Don’t keep it on your mind anymore.”
Having left Lord Gu Chengxiang’s room, the little wife appeared contemplative. Seeing his little wife deep in thought, Gu Ya couldn’t help but probing, “Yunjin, what are you thinking about?”
“I’m thinking…” Su Yunjin subconsciously thought about expressing her concern over Lord Gu Chengxiang’s paralysis, and wondered if she had an opportunity in the future to try and see if she could cure her father-in-law. Yet, as the words ca to her lips, she swallowed them down, not continuing her sentence.
