“Yun Niang, this won’t do. Mother is worried about your second sister. I’m going out to look for Ningxiu right now,” Mrs. Shen said as she got up and started to leave, limping heavily.
Although Su Yunjin was also worried, she knew her mother couldn’t walk far in her condition without aggravating her leg injury. She stopped her mother, deciding to go look for her second sister and elder brother herself, “Mother, rest at the shop. I’ll go find elder brother and Ningxiu,” she said, blocking Mrs. Shen.
Su Yunjin left the shop; inquiring outside seed better than just waiting aimlessly inside. Mrs. Shen had initially wanted to go with Su Yunjin to find Su Ningxiu.
But Mrs. Shen’s leg was injured, making it hard for her to take even a single step. Having no choice, she decided to rest at the shop, as Su Yunjin had suggested, and wait for their return.
Mrs. Shen was beside herself with worry, anxious as she waited in the shop. After Su Yunjin ran out, she speculated that Ningxiu might have gone toward the South Market.
Upon realizing the man had deceived her, Ningxiu was likely to confront him for the truth. Maybe Ningxiu was at the South Market right now. With that thought, Su Yunjin made her way toward the South Market.
But before she even reached the South Market, Su Yunjin caught sight of her second sister, along with Gu Ya and his elder brother. Su Yunjin felt a surge of relief and hurried over to them.
“Father, elder brother, Ningxiu,” seeing his young wife, Gu Ya’s handso face flickered with surprise, then he asked her, “Yun Nian, what are you doing here?”
Looking at Su Ningxiu, Su Yunjin responded, “Second Sister, Mother was so worried about you, I ca out to look for you.” Although she was speaking to Su Ningxiu, she simultaneously answered Gu Ya’s question.
Wearing a dispirited expression, Su Ningxiu said nothing. Gu Ya pulled his young wife aside and whispered next to Su Yunjin, “Yun Nian, Ningxiu has just co to terms with the fact that the man deceived her. Let her calm down for a bit.”
After hearing Gu Ya’s words, Su Yunjin wanted to ask more, but considering their elder brother and the others were present, it wasn’t appropriate for her to ask too much in front of everyone.
She reluctantly suppressed the questions in her heart.
No matter what!
It was good enough to have found Ningxiu.
Anxiously, Mrs. Shen waited in the shop, and when everyone finally returned, she rushed forward to embrace her disoriented second daughter, “Oh, Xiuxiu, my Xiuxiu, you’ve finally co back.” Fearing an accident had befallen Su Ningxiu, Mrs. Shen now saw her unhard and was relieved.

But now the truth told her it was all a lie: not only did the man marry and have children, even the na he gave her was false.

Su Yunjin felt that if she were in that position, she wouldn’t have been able to accept it either, at least not imdiately. But there was nothing anyone could do in such a situation; Ningxiu had to co to terms with it herself.
It was tragic that Ningxiu had given her heart to a man who deceived her on her very first venture into love.
Su Yunjin sighed deeply.
A warmth transferred from her hand, and looking down, she was surprised to find Gu Ya holding her small hand with his strong one.
