"Husband!"

Su Yunjin secretly sized up Gu Ya. Under the night sky, Gu Ya’s thin lips were slightly pursed, but his expression showed no anger.

Su Yunjin daringly moved her hand again, attempting to withdraw it from Gu Ya’s, but this ti Gu Ya suddenly let her go.

Su Yunjin looked at Gu Ya in surprise, not expecting him to release her so suddenly. She saw the hand that had just been grasping her so tightly now resting on top of her head, gently stroking her hair.

"Naughty!" Gu Ya’s voice was as deep and pleasant as ever, with an unmistakable touch of affection.

Su Yunjin inexplicably felt captivated by Gu Ya, hurriedly averting her gaze. She tugged on Gu Ya’s sleeve, urging him forward.

"Weren’t we heading back to the room? Let’s hurry back."

Gu Ya, being pulled along by his anxious young wife, found it amusing yet was puzzled at what exactly was bothering her.

Su Yunjin soon realized that her actions were quite inexplicable, wasn’t she just making a fool of herself in front of Gu Ya?

Embarrassed, she coughed awkwardly and added, "It’s really cold out here."

Gu Ya couldn’t help but laugh this ti.

"Yes, it is quite cold!" Gu Ya’s teasing gaze made his young wife instantly flustered.

The current season was sumr, the hottest ti of the year, and during the day the young wife had even ordered the servants to fetch ice from the icehouse to cool down. Although the night wasn’t as hot as the day, it certainly wasn’t cold.

The young wife’s feigned explanation was as revealing as stating the obvious truth.

Through the earlier embarrassnt, Su Yunjin decided to ignore Gu Ya altogether.

Throughout the journey, Su Yunjin harbored a sense of frustration in her heart. However, Gu Ya was in quite a good mood.

The couple made their way back to their quarters.

Su Yunjin, concerned about Xue Chu’s matters, asked Gu Ya again, "Husband, what do you think? Is it alright to let Brother Xue manage the docks?"

"Yun Niang, Xue Chu is upright and loyal, attentive and thorough in his work, and adaptable. In theory, he is suitable to manage the docks. However, Xue Chu has never held a managerial position before, so we need to see if he can truly handle this role."

Su Yunjin quickly understood Gu Ya’s point.

"Husband, does that an you agree to give Brother Xue a chance?"

Su Yunjin’s eyes shone brightly as Gu Ya looked at his young wife and nodded.

"Yes, I agree to give Xue Chu a chance. I will initially let him manage the docks for three months as a trial. If he does well, I will allow Xue Chu to help manage the dock business. Otherwise, if his performance is unsatisfactory, I will find soone else to take over."

Gu Ya had already made his stance very clear to Xue Chu.

Xue Chu had no objections and promised to strive to manage the dock business well, ensuring he wouldn’t disappoint Gu Ya.

Gu Ya handed over all the recent docunts and accounts he had arranged for his n to collect about the dock business to Xue Chu, instructing him to study them carefully.

Su Yunjin, during her visit, saw Xue Chu holding the stack of docunts that Gu Ya had given him.

Three months was a considerable amount of ti; Gu Ya had given Xue Chu three months. The rest would depend on his own capabilities.

That Xue Chu was willing to make such efforts for Linglong was, to be honest, quite admirable to Su Yunjin.

"Husband, Brother Xue is really brave for Linglong."

Even knowing that they might not end up together, Xue Chu dared to boldly love her and worked hard just to marry the woman he fell for at first sight.
