Since these aren’t the account books from Zuixiang Restaurant, where did they co from?

Gu Ya explained, "Yunnin, these account books were collected by Brother Xue and Brother Hong from various rchant ships at the harbor over the past couple of days."

"These are the account books from the harbor freighters?"

Su Yunjin stared at Gu Ya in astonishnt, amazed at how quickly he managed to get his hands on other people’s account books from the freighters. He’s indeed impressive!

Gu Ya embraced his young wife again, "Yunjin, most businesses recorded in these account books are operating at a loss or with minimal profit. Brother Xue and Brother Hong ntioned that the rchants owning these freighters are eager to sell them. If we want to venture into the freight business at the harbor, we could consider buying these ships."

As she listened to Gu Ya, Su Yunjin flipped through the account books in her hands. Although most of the records showed losses, it was evident that the main reason these rchant ships were losing money was due to poor managent by the owners, not because there wasn’t profit to be made.

"Darling, these freighters aren’t small ships, and the rchants are eager to sell. If we buy now, we can drive the price down and won’t incur any losses."

Gu Ya shared the sa thought, "Yunjin, tomorrow I’ll arrange for Brother Xue and Brother Hong to buy these ships altogether."

"Darling, why don’t I go with Brother Xue and the others tomorrow?" Su Yunjin suggested.

Gu Ya fondly pinched his young wife’s fair cheeks.

"Yunjin, it’ll be fine with Brother Xue and the others, you don’t need to go."

Su Yunjin was idle at ho with nothing much to do, so she figured it wouldn’t hurt to check it out.

"Darling, if I go with Brother Xue and the others tomorrow, I could even inspect the freighters myself, and maybe I’d be able to negotiate the price better!"

Su Yunjin decided to go. With Xue Chu and Hong Wu accompanying her, generally, nothing should happen to the young wife!

Gu Ya let her have her way. However, before his young wife left, he specifically called Xue Chu and Hong Wu over and gave them a thorough briefing.

Gu Ya instructed Xue Chu and Hong Wu to take good care of his young wife. Both Xue Chu and Hong Wu nodded, assuring him they would look after her and ensure nothing happened to her.

The next day, Su Yunjin set off for the harbor with Xue Chu and Hong Wu.

The sale of the ships had been prearranged by Xue Chu and Hong Wu. Hence, the ship’s owners were already waiting for them on board early in the morning.

When Su Yunjin stepped inside the ship, she found it not only spacious but also quite large. The vessel was divided into several levels, with multiple layers on top and a cargo hold for storage below.

The cargo hold was vast and capable of storing a significant amount of goods.

The ship owner led Su Yunjin and her companions around the ship, showing her that it not only had places for cooking and boiling water but also had sleeping quarters.

The ship was equipped with everything necessary, totally convenient.

After the tour, Su Yunjin was generally satisfied with the ship. Initially, the ship owner demanded a high price, but after so negotiations, Su Yunjin purchased it for 120 taels.

There were two other similar ships. Su Yunjin bought the remaining two at the sa price.

Additionally, there were several smaller freighters left with the ship owner, which Su Yunjin also decided to buy from him.

The relatively smaller ships were purchased by Su Yunjin for fifty taels each.

Su Yunjin nearly bought all the ships the owners were selling in one go. As an extra gesture, the ship owners generously gifted Su Yunjin two small boats.
