Chapter 1622: Chapter 1622: Ruthless

Gu Ya’s eyes revealed a glimr of ruthlessness.

No matter where Leng Jingxian was, he would find her.

Thinking about the contents of the letter, the shadows in Gu Ya’s eyes deepened. Even Su Yunjin, sitting across from him, could clearly sense the anger emanating from him.

“Husband, what’s wrong?” Su Yunjin cautiously asked.

Gu Ya looked at his young wife, his expression quickly returning to calm, his tone carrying its usual gentleness, “Yunniang, it’s nothing.” Su Yunjin stared at Gu Ya. Anyone with eyes could see that he had been angry just monts ago. Now he claid it was nothing, but Su Yunjin obviously didn’t believe him.

The young wife didn’t believe him, yet Gu Ya said no more. Although he didn’t explain, Su Yunjin could roughly guess that Gu Ya’s anger had sothing to do with Leng Jingxian.

Her curiosity about the contents of the letter grew.

Su Yunjin asked, “Husband, by the way, what did that crazy woman write in the letter?” Gu Ya hadn’t let her see it, instead destroying Leng Jingxian’s letter.

What in the world had that madwoman written to her?

Gu Ya evidently had no intention of telling her what was in the letter. “Yunniang, you’ve had a tiring day. Go and rest early tonight!” Standing up, Gu Ya casually removed his outer robe.

Su Yunjin walked over.

“Husband, you haven’t answered my question yet.” Gu Ya handed his outer robe to Su Yunjin, “Yunniang, fetch a clean change of clothes; I’m going to take a bath.”

Accepting the robe, Su Yunjin went to find clean clothes for Gu Ya. His clothing was stored separately in a wardrobe, making it easy to locate.

Su Yunjin randomly grabbed a clean robe and handed it to Gu Ya. “Husband, here.” Knowing full well that Gu Ya had no intention of telling her about the contents of the letter, Su Yunjin decided not to press the matter further.

That crazy woman, Leng Jingxian, probably hadn’t written anything good in the letter. Without even seeing it, Su Yunjin could already roughly guess what Leng Jingxian had written.

For her to anger Gu Ya to the point of turning his face dark, Leng Jingxian must have thrown quite a few nasty insults her way. Gu Ya’s decision not to reveal the letter’s contents was, in essence, an act of protection for her.

Suddenly, Su Yunjin felt an inexplicable sweetness in her heart. She stepped forward and unexpectedly hugged Gu Ya from behind. Gu Ya, who had been about to go take a bath, stiffened slightly, unsure why the young woman behind him was suddenly acting so affectionate.

Su Yunjin held Gu Ya tightly without saying a word, simply embracing him like this.

Gu Ya glanced down at the small hands encircling his waist with a mix of helplessness and amusent. “Yunniang, let go.” With her holding onto him like this, how was he supposed to go bathe?

Su Yunjin still didn’t let go.

“No.” Not only did she refuse to release him, but Su Yunjin also nuzzled her little head against Gu Ya’s body.

Gu Ya sighed in defeat and turned around. “Yunniang, so, are you planning to bathe with ?” His voice carried a teasing lilt, amusent glinting in his eyes.

Who wanted to bathe with him?

Su Yunjin, startled by his words, imdiately withdrew her hands as though shocked by electricity. Gu Ya chuckled softly again. “Wait for ; I’ll be back shortly.”

“Mm!” Su Yunjin instinctively nodded her head.

Then she realized sothing wasn’t quite right.

Why was she waiting for him?

“Who’s waiting for you!” Her muttered retort sounded from behind, but it only deepened the smile in Gu Ya’s eyes. Though Su Yunjin said she wouldn’t wait for him,

In truth, she stayed up, waiting for Gu Ya to return.

······

Speaking of Leng Jingxian’s escape, fearing capture by King Chu’s n, she not only discarded her usual attire but also purchased several sets of coarse clothes from a farr to wear.

She sared her face with charcoal until it was pitch black.

Looking into the copper mirror, she saw a dark and ugly woman staring back.

Leng Jingxian couldn’t help but feel a tinge of disdain for herself.
