Chapter 1613: Chapter 1613: The Rogue

“Darling, then what do you think is the proper way to admit fault?” Su Yunjin hesitated for a mont before tentatively asking Gu Ya.

Gu Ya gave a aningful smile.

Amusent was blatantly apparent in his gaze.

When Su Yunjin t Gu Ya’s mischievous look, even if she were naïve, she could still understand his implication. Her face flushed red, and she huffed at Gu Ya.

“Scoundrel.”

······

The plan was to visit the newly purchased house today, and for once Su Yunjin wasn’t lazy about sleeping in. When Gu Ya got up, Su Yunjin quickly followed. “Darling, let’s bring Little Tiangua and Little Yuanbao with us,” Su Yunjin suggested, wanting to take the two children along to see the house.

Gu Ya, however, didn’t quite agree.

“Yunjin, the wind is strong outside. It’s better to let the kids stay ho with Nanny Bao and the others!” Right now, the snow was just beginning to lt and the ice was thawing. It was fine for adults to go out, but taking the children out might not be ideal.

It would be best for them to remain at ho.

After all, there were wet nurses and Nanny Bao and the others at ho to look after the children. Leaving them at ho was a better option. The nannies could take very good care of the two kids. Gu Ya wasn’t in favor of bringing them along. Su Yunjin, who was skilled in dicine, thought it over and ultimately felt that Gu Ya had a point. The children were still young; taking them out might expose them to the chilly air, which could easily make them sick.

For their well-being, Su Yunjin decided not to insist.

Lately, Su Yunjin had been ill and lacked an appetite. Most mornings, she would only eat half a bowl of congee before stopping. But today was an exception—she managed to eat a full bowl of congee and several stead dumplings. She even noticed that Nanny Liang’s stead at buns looked quite appetizing, so she used her chopsticks to grab one of the plump, white at buns.

Feeling Gu Ya’s curious eyes on her, Su Yunjin took a bite of the bun and asked with her mouth still sowhat full, “Darling, what’s the matter?” The bun was delicious—its skin was soft, and the filling was shrimp and pork, exactly the kind of stuffing Su Yunjin liked.

“Yunjin, are you really going to eat that much?” Gu Ya comnted.

She was feeling a bit full. After taking a couple more bites of the bun, Su Yunjin set down her chopsticks, dusted off her hands, and stood up. “I’m done eating. Darling, let’s go now! Let’s head to the house.”

Gu Ya had finished eating as well.

The couple stepped out together.

The coachman was waiting outside.

They got into the carriage, and the coachman drove them all the way to the town.

On the road, Su Yunjin turned to Gu Ya and asked, “Darling, when did you buy the house?”

“Last year!” Gu Ya replied. He had purchased the house at the end of last year. However, back then, his little wife had been pregnant, and he wanted her to focus solely on her prenatal care, so he didn’t inform her at the ti.

Su Yunjin appeared surprised, “Last year? Darling, are you saying you bought the house last year?” She hadn’t expected that Gu Ya had secretly purchased the house a year ago.

But if he had bought it last year, why had he only told her about it yesterday?

Su Yunjin felt sowhat puzzled.

“Darling, why didn’t you tell last year?”

Gu Ya smiled, “You were pregnant last year.”

“Being pregnant doesn’t an you couldn’t tell , right? Who says pregnancy ans you can’t ntion things?” Su Yunjin didn’t agree with Gu Ya’s reasoning. Just because she was pregnant, knowing about the house wouldn’t have made much of a difference, would it?

It seed that Gu Ya could read her thoughts. “Yunjin, if I’d told you, would you have been able to stay focused on your prenatal care?” If his little wife had learned last year that he’d bought a house, she probably wouldn’t have let her pregnancy stop her. She would likely still have insisted on going to see it, and might have tried to set up the place and move in.

Su Yunjin was montarily dumbfounded.

Gu Ya’s comnt left her speechless.

She didn’t respond.

Gu Ya smiled again.

“Yunjin, seeing it now is just as good.”
