"Wait!"
Gu Ya grabbed his young wife’s hand, and Su Yunjin stared at him, asking, "Husband, are you agreeing to carry ?"
"Co here." Gu Ya’s handso face stiffened slightly. He didn’t answer but bent down in front of Su Yunjin. Knowing he would agree, Su Yunjin jumped onto Gu Ya’s back, and he carried her walking ho like that.
Along the way, they attracted plenty of attention. Various looks followed them—disdainful, envious, indifferent. At first, Su Yunjin didn’t think much of it, but later, she realized this was ancient tis. Most people in the town were quite conservative. Even married couples had to be cautious about holding hands in crowded places, let alone openly carrying each other like this.
Thankfully, it was nightti now. Although lanterns lit up the street, it was still less conspicuous than during the day. Gu Ya carried her, and others might not be able to clearly see their faces. Su Yunjin didn’t care about the gazes; she stayed on Gu Ya’s back without concern. Curious about Gu Ya’s reaction, she leaned close to his ear and spoke, "Husband, have you noticed? Quite a few people are watching us."
"Don’t move. Be still." Gu Ya’s voice carried a warning.
Su Yunjin complied and stayed put.
Dutifully, she lay on Gu Ya’s back without moving at all.
Once they returned ho, Su Yunjin started feeling lightheaded. Noticing that his young wife’s complexion was off, Gu Ya touched her forehead with his hand. "Yun Niang, are you feeling unwell?" Su Yunjin slumped onto the pillow and fell asleep.
"Sleepy." She had been feeling tired on the carriage ride. Now that they were finally ho, Su Yunjin imdiately lay down and drifted off. Gu Ya tucked the blanket around her gently and said, "Go ahead and sleep if you’re tired."

Su Yunjin slept an entire day. In her dazed state, she didn’t even react when Aunt Bao and the others called her na. This frightened them greatly, especially since Gu Ya wasn’t ho at the ti.
Fearing sothing serious, Aunt Bao quickly went to the town to find a physician to check on Su Yunjin. In her hazy half-sleep, Su Yunjin felt like there were people walking back and forth in the room, but for so reason, she couldn’t open her eyes.
At one point, Su Yunjin seed to hear two children crying—Little Yuanbao and Little Tiangua’s voices. Soon, however, the children were taken away. Aunt Bao said, "Madam is ill right now; don’t let the sickness affect the little ones. Let’s wait until Madam recovers before bringing the kids back in." After that, Su Yunjin didn’t hear the children crying anymore.
Later, Su Yunjin felt soone taking her pulse.
Aunt Bao asked that person,
"Doctor, how is it? What’s happening with our Madam?" Since morning, Aunt Bao had discovered Su Yunjin had been sleeping continuously and couldn’t be woken up. The doctor finished checking her pulse and finally frowned, shaking his head.
"Your Madam’s condition isn’t looking good!" Su Yunjin’s pulse was irregular, and she remained unconscious. The doctor withdrew his hand, thought for a mont, and then said, "Alright, I’ll prescribe so dicine for your Madam to try. If it doesn’t help, you should seek better dical expertise elsewhere."
This statent left Aunt Bao and Aunt Liang frightened.
"Doctor, is there sothing seriously wrong with our Madam...?" Aunt Bao and the others knew about the events of the previous day when Su Yunjin fell into the water. Madam had just finished her postpartum month, and yesterday, she was both abducted and subrged in the water.
Anyone would struggle to endure that.
