Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Ginger Soup Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Ginger Soup “Mother, please co in!”

Gu Ya looked toward the door, speaking while he casually straightened out the creased robe his little wife had rumpled.

Mrs. Shen pushed open the door and walked in, carrying a bowl of ginger soup. The freshly made ginger soup was still steaming hot.

“Son-in-law, how is everything? Has Yunjin sobered up a bit?”

Mrs. Shen glanced at her daughter lying on the bed, who was now sleeping with eyes closed and her consciousness blurred.

She was completely unaware of her mother’s presence.

Gu Ya also watched Su Yunjin, recalling how his little wife had just clung to him, refusing to let go, he cleared his throat and said, “Mother, it’s Yunjin’s first ti drinking, and I don’t know how much she had, but she’s quite drunk.”

Mrs. Shen could also see that her daughter was very drunk. Thankfully, she had listened to Yunjin’s elder sister and made ginger soup for her. Otherwise, who knew how long it would have taken her to sober up on her own.

“Son-in-law, ginger soup can sober her up; I just made it! Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll give you the ginger soup, and you feed it to Yunjin right now,” Mrs. Shen approached Gu Ya, insisting he feed Su Yunjin the ginger soup.

Gu Ya frowned and pondered that his little wife might be too drunk to consu the sobering soup, so he said to Mrs. Shen, “Mother, Yunjin is quite drunk right now. She probably won’t be able to drink the sobering soup! I think it’s better to wait until Yunjin wakes up and then feed it to her.”

“Son-in-law, I think it’s better to feed her the sobering soup now. When Yunjin’s father gets drunk and has a bowl of this, he wakes up with no problems,” Mrs. Shen insisted that Gu Ya give Su Yunjin the soup right away and added, “Son-in-law, go ahead and feed Yunjin now. If she can’t drink it herself, just pour the sobering soup directly into her mouth.”

In her drunken stupor, Su Yunjin seed to hear her mother and Gu Ya talking.

It was as if she was dreaming.

Yunjin couldn’t tell if she was dreaming or it was real, but she felt as if soone had propped her up, and then, she sensed soone prying open her mouth and pouring sothing into it.

Standing by, Mrs. Shen watched as Gu Ya poured the entire bowl of ginger soup into her daughter’s mouth and then handed him a clean handkerchief, “Son-in-law, please wipe Yunjin’s mouth and face.”

While Gu Ya was pouring the ginger soup, Su Yunjin got so on her face and beside her mouth because she was half asleep, even though Gu Ya was being very careful.

Taking the handkerchief, Gu Ya ticulously wiped his little wife’s mouth and face. Before, his little wife had been restless at the slightest touch, but ever since her mother, Mrs. Shen, had co in, the little wife was as good as anything? No matter how he touched her, she didn’t struggle or make a fuss.

She was just sleeping with her eyes closed.

Mrs. Shen took the empty bowl, now finished with the ginger soup, and intended to leave, “Son-in-law, I’ll go now. Please take good care of Yunjin.”

“Mother, you go ahead with your tasks. I’ll take care of Yunjin,” Gu Ya nodded, his eyes softening unconsciously as he looked at his little wife lying on the bed.

After Mrs. Shen had left, rembering he had promised Su Zhongshi, his father-in-law, to share a few more drinks with him, Gu Ya tucked in the blankets for the little wife sleeping on the bed, bent down to kiss her forehead, then got up and walked out of the room.
