The man in front of her exuded a chilling aura, and Su Yunjin brimd with caution. Seeing Su Yunjin’s nervousness, the man quickly said, “Madam Su, there’s no need to be tense, I an no harm in coming here.”

Su Yunjin imagined that scenario in her head and couldn’t help but shiver. The man seed to sense Su Yunjin’s change in deanor – after all, she was soone his Family Head had taken to heart and instructed him to protect. He dared not frighten Su Yunjin too much; otherwise, if he scared her and she complained even the slightest to the young master, he could say goodbye to his position.
Both Su Yunjin and the man had their own concerns, each afraid the other might do them harm. The man tried to soften his expression, warming up his usually icy deanor, before responding to Su Yunjin’s question, “Madam Su, my visit today was rather presumptuous, not to ask for water. It is at the invitation of our Family Head; I have specifically co to escort you to et him.”
“What? Your Family Head has invited ?” A flash of surprise crossed Su Yunjin’s face.
She was completely puzzled.
Who was this man before her?
And who was his Family Head?
Su Yunjin spilled out her confusion in a series of questions, to which the man replied with a smile, “Madam Su, our Family Head is soone you know. If you follow , you will understand once you et him.”
But Su Yunjin was not a naive girl.
Not knowing who this man before her was, how could she possibly feel safe following him? If the man had ill intentions, wouldn’t leaving with him be like walking into a tiger’s den?
Su Yunjin had no intention of going with the man.
“Sorry, big brother, but I do not recognize your master, and I will not leave with you.” Su Yunjin declined and went to close the door.
The man anticipated Su Yunjin’s action and stopped her before she could close the door, “Madam Su, you do know our Family Head; the Young Master Chu is our Family Head. Do you recognize this Jade Token? It is an item that our young master wears at all tis.”
The man took out a Jade Token from his inner pocket, engraved with the character “Chu” on it. This Jade Token was indeed sothing Su Yunjin had seen on Young Master Chu before.
However, her acquaintance with Young Master Chu was, at most, a nodding one. Moreover, all her dealings with him were currently managed by Gu Ya, so Su Yunjin couldn’t fathom why Young Master Chu would send his subordinate to fetch her?
Regardless of the reason, Su Yunjin had no intention of following the man to et this Young Master Chu. Handing back the Jade Pendant to the man in black, Su Yunjin politely declined.
“Currently, I am pregnant and should not be traveling back and forth. I’m afraid I cannot accompany you to see your Family Head.”
