Chapter 1379: Chapter 1380: Striking in the Shadows
Everyone was abuzz with discussion.
Su Yunjin was now utterly disappointed in her eldest brother and was too lazy to explain herself to the crowd’s gossip. People could say whatever they’d like—she couldn’t control their tongues anyway. Su Muze and Su Zhongshi exchanged looks, and when they saw Su Yunjin approaching, they thought she would continue to persuade him.
“Little sister, don’t say any more. I believe in Miss Xiao’s character. Her integrity is not for you to malign. No matter what you all say, I want to be with Miss Xiao.”
Su Muze was determined to be with Xiao Yu.
Su Yunjin looked at Su Muze expressionlessly, her tone just as calm, “Big brother, who told you I was going to persuade you?” Su Muze was now delusional; even if she tried to persuade him, it would be of no use. Knowing it would be futile, Su Yunjin was not going to bother.
To think Su Yunjin would say such a thing?
Su Muze was taken aback for a mont.
Little sister didn’t co to convince him?
Then what was little sister here for?
Could it be?
Before Su Muze could figure it out, he heard Su Yunjin say indifferently, “Big brother, the path you choose today is your own. Since you don’t trust what I and second sister said, from today onwards, neither she nor I will do anything for you—nor will we intervene in your affairs anymore. Your matters no longer concern us.”
Su Muze, who had always resisted having Su Yunjin and Su Ningxiu handle his affairs, felt inexplicably empty after hearing what Su Yunjin said.
As if suddenly sothing was missing.
After all, Su Muze and Su Yunjin had been siblings for more than a decade. Though Su Muze always defended Xiao Yu with his words, deep down, he actually cared about his two younger sisters.
“Little sister, listen to , let explain. Miss Xiao… she is truly not the kind of person you and second sister think she is. There must be so misunderstanding between you and second sister about Miss Xiao, right, a misunderstanding, it must be.”
Su Muze liked Xiao Yu, but he did not want to estrange his two sisters because of her.
Su Muze, about to be wed, still hoped his two sisters would bless his union with Xiao Yu. Believing Su Yunjin and Su Ningxiu misunderstood Xiao Yu, Su Muze secretly resolved to clear up the misunderstanding between his little sisters and Miss Xiao, wanting them to accept her.
As Su Muze frantically explained, Su Yunjin didn’t listen to a single word, “Big brother, I have no interest in that woman’s affairs. You were unwilling to listen to the explanations from second sister and ; now similarly, I scorn your explanations.”
Su Muze was taken aback by Su Yunjin’s retort.
Su Yunjin added, “Big brother, I’m leaving. Look after yourself.” Not intending to say anything more to Su Muze, Su Yunjin turned and left.
Mrs. Shen wanted to catch Su Yunjin.
Su Zhongshi let out a cold holler.
“Let Yunjin go. This damned fool, we can’t control him now; let him do as he pleases!” Su Zhongshi was infuriated by Su Muze.
And didn’t want to ddle in Su Muze’s affairs anymore.
Mrs. An was at a loss.
Ignoring the quarreling Su Zhongshi and Mrs. Shen, Su Yunjin strode towards the courtyard exit. Her second sister and brother-in-law’s carriage was outside; Su Yunjin planned to leave with them in the carriage right then.
Seeing his two sisters leaving one after the other, an impulse to chase arose in Su Muze. Yet, when he thought of Xiao Yu, his footsteps were immobilized.
Su Xiaofu, standing outside the courtyard and gloating, noticed Su Yunjin was about to leave. A thought flickered through her mind; she intentionally stepped on a pebble, waiting to covertly kick it towards Su Yunjin as she approached.
