Chapter 1344: Chapter 1344: No Room for Interference

“Mother, very well, since the conversation has reached this point, let make myself clear,” Yunjin said. “The child is mine, and whether it’s a boy or a girl is my business. I won’t be going to see Mrs. Yu, so you can get that idea out of your head!”

In the past, Mrs. An had been a decent person and, being Yunjin’s mother-in-law, Yunjin had always been polite to her. However, her courtesy towards Mrs. An was out of respect for Gu Ya and because Mrs. An was her mother-in-law. As a daughter-in-law, she should show respect and filial piety. Yunjin would abide by these duties, but if Mrs. An challenged her bottom line, then she would no longer maintain the facade of respect.

This was the first ti Yunjin had spoken to Mrs. An with such a tone, and Mrs. An was imdiately taken aback, unable to believe that the polite and obedient daughter-in-law she knew could show such a side.

“Mother, Mrs. Yu’s deceitful tricks may fool you but not . You may seek her out if you wish, but if you expect to follow your instructions, I’m sorry, but that’s impossible,” Yunjin continued.

Mrs. An’s face turned red with anger, and her shoulders shook uncontrollably. At that mont, Gu Ya, who had noticed the commotion, stepped out from the house.

“Mother, Yunjin, what has happened? Why are you quarreling?” Gu Ya had always seen harmony between his wife and mother. It was the first ti, since he had been married for so long, that he had witnessed an argunt between them.

Hearing Gu Ya’s voice, both Mrs. An and Yunjin looked at him. Before Yunjin could speak, Mrs. An turned to Gu Ya and said, “My son, your mother is only thinking of you and your wife. I will go back now. You and your wife should carefully consider my words.”

Yunjin wouldn’t listen to Mrs. An.

Mrs. An, angered and upset, left with a dark expression while Gu Ya remained perplexed, turning his gaze back and looking towards his wife.

“Yunjin, what exactly happened? How did Mother get so angry?” Gu Ya knew his wife was not one to make unreasonable scenes. There had to be a reason for today’s incident.

He suspected his mother must have crossed his wife’s boundaries. Under normal circumstances, Yunjin would not have spoken to his mother in that manner. Gu Ya watched his wife, intending to hear her side of the story first before making any conclusions.

Yunjin faced Gu Ya, now keen to hear what he thought of the matter. She didn’t conceal anything and gave him a rough summary of the dispute she had just had with Mrs. An.

Upon hearing this, Gu Ya’s face darkened, and he exclaid, “Absurd! The gender of a child is determined by fate, and not sothing humans can change!” No wonder Yunjin was so upset. After hearing her explanation, Gu Ya also felt that his mother’s actions were ridiculous.

Could the words of soone like Mrs. Yu be trusted?

Was it safe to take the dicine prescribed by such a person?

Not only would Yunjin refuse such nonsense, but Gu Ya would not tolerate his mother’s irrational behavior either. Gu Ya was filial, but he would not indulge such fundantal issues.

The lines that should be held firm must indeed be held.

Especially when it concerned matters related to his wife.

Yunjin had been worried that Gu Ya might believe Mrs. Yu just like his mother did, but seeing his reaction, her lips curved into a satisfied smile.

She hadn’t misjudged this man.

“My husband,” Yunjin said, stepping forward to embrace Gu Ya.

She even buried her small head in his chest.

Gu Ya wrapped his arms around his wife, his large hand resting on top of her head, his tone leaving no room for discussion, “Yunjin, don’t worry, I won’t let Mother carry on with this foolishness.”
