Then there ca a knocking at the door.

Gu Ya shouldn’t be coming over, right?
Her second sister was changing clothes in this room.
Out of propriety, Gu Ya definitely wouldn’t co over.
Indeed, as Su Yunjin was thinking, Wang ng’s voice ca from outside, “Xiuxiu, are you changed yet?” The little wife has been changing clothes for quite a while now.
Not yet changed.
She might catch cold.
Wang ng was standing outside the door holding a bowl of ginger soup, which he had prepared in the kitchen while Su Ningxiu was changing her clothes.
Ginger soup dispels cold.
Su Ningxiu should have this ginger soup to warm up.
She wouldn’t catch cold that way.
Wang ng waited outside.
“Second sister, it’s brother-in-law,” Su Yunjin went to open the door.
Wang ng looked into the room, “Little sister, has your second sister finished changing?”
“Husband, I have changed already,” Su Ningxiu, who was following behind Su Yunjin, replied to Wang ng.
Su Ningxiu had changed into a light-green dress; her delicate beauty was further highlighted by the refreshing purity of the green attire. Wang ng was stunned when he saw his little wife approaching.
He was struck with admiration.
He just felt that his little wife looked really beautiful in this green dress.
Su Yunjin asked, “Brother-in-law, is the ginger soup in your hands for my second sister?” The steam rising from the ginger soup clearly showed it was freshly made.
Wang ng nodded and then looked back at Su Ningxiu, “Xiuxiu, co, quickly have this bowl of ginger soup. It’s good for dispelling the cold and warming the body.” She had been soaked to the skin while working at the fish pond.
How could she not have so ginger soup to warm up?
“Second sister, go inside and sit down. Take your ti with the ginger soup,” Su Yunjin suggested that Su Ningxiu sit down inside to have the ginger soup, but Su Ningxiu felt it wasn’t quite right to eat in her little sister’s room with her brother-in-law there.
So she insisted on going out to eat, “Little sister, I think I and your brother-in-law should eat out in the courtyard!” It didn’t matter where she ate, Su Ningxiu preferred to have it in the courtyard.
Su Yunjin had no objections.
So, Wang ng carrying the ginger soup and Su Ningxiu went outside together, and Su Yunjin followed them out. Gu Ya had been enjoying tea in the courtyard the whole ti; seeing his little wife co out, he then stepped forward.
“Yunjie.”
Gu Ya looked at his little wife. Gu Ya had stayed away while Su Ningxiu was changing her clothes to avoid impropriety; now that Su Ningxiu was having ginger soup, Su Yunjin was intending to prepare dinner in the kitchen.
They were hosting second sister Su Ningxiu and her husband for dinner this evening, and it was getting late. It was ti to get the al ready so everyone could dine. Su Yunjin said she would go to the kitchen to cook.
Second sister Su Ningxiu volunteered to help.
Su Yunjin insisted Su Ningxiu finish her ginger soup first. Wang ng also coaxed Su Ningxiu to drink the soup, while in the kitchen, after Su Yunjin went there, Gu Ya followed as well.
That left Su Ningxiu and Wang ng outside in the courtyard.
Looking back at Gu Ya, Su Yunjin asked, “Husband, why did you co here?”
“Yunjie, if I don’t co here, are you suggesting I stay outside and disturb your second sister and brother-in-law?” Wang ng and Su Ningxiu were out there having ginger soup.
Gu Ya sitting there would only interrupt the couple’s intimate ti. He had a wife of his own. Staying outside to disturb Su Ningxiu and her husband didn’t make much sense. Why not co over and keep his own little wife company?
Su Yunjin thought about it.
Indeed, second sister and big brother Wang were outside.
It would be inconvenient for Gu Ya to stay there.
While busy with cooking, Su Yunjin, with Gu Ya present, casually asked Gu Ya to help her pick out two fish from the kitchen. One to be stewed in a clear soup and the other to be braised, to accompany the drinks for big brother Wang and Gu Ya.
