Chapter 1109: Chapter 932, Little Baozi Arrives
“Yiyi, what’s wrong?”
Guo Ruoi and Gu Jian hurriedly went to support Daohua, seeing her drenched in sweat from pain, they both beca tense.
“Master, mother, I think I’m going into labor?”
Hearing this, Gu Jian and Guo Ruoi were both startled.
Gu Jian quickly took Daohua’s pulse and nodded, “She’s in stir, the child is likely to be born prematurely.”
Upon hearing this, Guo Ruoi imdiately beca anxious: “Then we must take Yiyi back to the residence at once.” Looking at Chu Lang, she said, “You carry Miss Yan.”
Chu Lang glanced at Gu Jian, and seeing no objection, he promptly carried Daohua and swiftly descended the city wall.
Gu Jian and Guo Ruoi followed quickly behind.
“Oh no~”
Chu Lang had just gotten down from the city wall with Daohua, not having run a few steps, when Daohua’s water broke.
The intense and frequent pains left Daohua sowhat unable to think, but she felt the child inside her belly seed eager to erge.
“Uncle Chu, there’s no ti, find a place nearby.”
Chu Lang didn’t dare make the decision and turned to Gu Jian and Guo Ruoi instead, “Miss Yan is about to give birth.”
Anxiously, Gu Jian looked around.
Due to the encirclent by the Xiliao army, the city’s residents had all secured their doors shut.
Without further thought, Gu Jian randomly pointed, preparing to have Caiju knock on a door, when, at that mont, the door to a ho opened.
“If you don’t mind, quickly bring Madam Xiao to my house,” said a young woman standing by the door, looking at Gu Jian and the others.
Gu Jian, seeing her dressed neatly and cleanly, nodded imdiately: “We’ll trouble you.” Then, he and Chu Lang carried Daohua into the woman’s courtyard.
Upon entering the courtyard, Gu Jian handed the Jade Pendant he was carrying to the woman: “Xiao Residence owes you a favor.” After saying this, he imdiately took charge, directing Caiju to boil water and instructing i Lan and i Ju to clean up the room.
The woman hurriedly followed to assist.
Guo Ruoi asked anxiously, “What should we do without a midwife?”
Although she had given birth before, it was in the Prince Residence, where everything was ready. Now her daughter-in-law was giving birth outside without preparations, and she indeed felt at a loss.
Chu Lang: “After I put Yiyi down, I’ll go back to the residence and bring the midwife.” Seeing Guo Ruoi’s anxious face, he added, “I’m fast, it won’t take long to bring soone here.”
Guo Ruoi nodded.
By that ti, i Lan and i Ju had finished cleaning up the room, and Chu Lang imdiately carried Daohua inside, placing her on the bed before quickly leaving.
Daohua’s pain overwheld her mind, as Guo Ruoi tightly grasped her hand, continuously offering words of comfort.
“Xiao Yeyang…”
Hearing Daohua call for her son, Guo Ruoi’s heart filled with hatred for the people of Xiliao; picking neither an earlier nor a later ti, they had opted to attack precisely when her daughter-in-law was in labor.
Fangniang, the mistress of this courtyard, saw that Guo Ruoi was only talking to Daohua, so she knew she had no experience in delivering babies; she had no choice but to pluck up the courage and said:
“Madam, it looks like Madam Xiao is about to give birth very soon.”
Guo Ruoi was stunned for a mont, then flustered she said: “The midwife isn’t here yet?”
Fangniang hesitated for a mont before saying: “If Madam would trust , I can assist Madam Xiao with the delivery.”
Guo Ruoi sized up Fangniang: “Do you know how to deliver a baby?”
Fangniang: “I’m the eldest at ho. When my mother was having my younger brothers and sisters, I was always helping beside her. And my own daughter, I delivered her all by myself.”
Guo Ruoi looked at Fangniang in astonishnt.
Giving birth all alone?
How dangerous!
“Ah~”
Hearing Daohua’s agonizing cries, Guo Ruoi could no longer care about anything else, and there were no other people to be found at this mont. Neither Caiju nor i Lan and i Ju had any experience in delivering babies, so she could only say:
“Okay, I trust you. Please make sure that both the mother and child are safe at all costs. Whatever you need, just order us around.”
Fangniang nodded her head and went forward to check on Daohua’s condition: “Madam Xiao’s body is in good shape, and the baby is in the right position. Everyone, don’t worry.”
She then looked at Daohua.
“Madam Xiao, concentrate all your strength in your abdon…”
Daohua instinctively did as Fangniang instructed, and although the pain made her mind go blank, she still felt regret that Xiao Yeyang could not witness the birth of their child.
…
“Wah~ Wah~ Wah~”
When Xiao Yeyang rushed into Fangniang’s courtyard, he heard the loud cries of a baby coming from the room.
Imdiately after, Fangniang’s voice rose in congratulations.
“Congratulations, Madam, it’s a young master!”
Without bothering to greet Gu Jian, Xiao Yeyang dashed into the room like a gust of wind.
Unfortunately, just as he stepped over the threshold, he was grabbed by Gu Jian.
Xiao Yeyang was a bit anxious: “Uncle, I need to see how Yiyi is doing, why are you holding back?”
Gu Jian replied irritably: “Where have you just co back from? Do you not worry that your blood and vigor will startle the child and Daohua? Go outside and clean yourself up right now!”
Xiao Yeyang looked at the bloodstains on his clothes and, with a ‘swoosh’, turned and left.
At this ti, Chu Lang, who was one step behind, also arrived panting along with the midwife, but when he heard the baby’s crying from inside the room, he knew he was too late.
Chu Lang’s face showed surprise: “I was already fast enough, how could the birth have happened so quickly?” Isn’t childbirth supposed to take a long ti?
Hearing him, Gu Jian said with a smile: “That’s because the little fellow is filial, didn’t want to make his mother suffer too much.” He then looked at the midwife: “Quick, go inside and check on Daohua and the baby’s health.”
The midwife hurried into the room.
On the bed, Daohua had fainted from exhaustion after giving birth to Little Baozi. When she woke up again, she was already back in the Xiao Residence.
“Ss~”
Daohua moved her body slightly and felt a tearing pain.
Xiao Yeyang, who was sitting by the bedside watching over Daohua, heard the noise and imdiately woke up. He raised his head and saw Daohua’s face twitching from the pain, and hurriedly asked:
“What’s wrong, are you feeling uncomfortable?” As he spoke, he loudly called for the four midwives waiting outside to co in, before Daohua had a chance to stop him.
Hearing from the midwives that Daohua was fine, Xiao Yeyang finally relaxed.
Daohua looked at Xiao Yeyang: “How co you are back?”
Xiao Yeyang held Daohua’s hand, his eyes full of guilt and tenderness: “It’s my fault that you had to suffer.”
Daohua knew he was talking about giving birth away from ho, smiled faintly, and seriously nodded: “Childbirth almost killed , from now on you have to treat and the child well.”
Xiao Yeyang leaned down and kissed Daohua’s forehead: “My life belongs to you both.”
Daohua then gave him a stare: “Who wants your life, we want your love.” After saying this, she looked around, “Where’s the child? Have you seen him?”
Xiao Yeyang’s eyes curved in joy: “I’ve seen him, that little rascal is very strong, his voice is loud, you can hear his cries from far away. Mother said, he looks exactly like when I was a baby. Right now, uncle and mother are watching over him; shall I go bring him to you?”
Daohua nodded eagerly. She had only caught a glimpse of the child before passing out after giving birth.
Xiao Yeyang rose to leave, and after not too much ti had passed, Guo Ruoi ca in holding the child.
The baby was just born, very soft and fragile. Xiao Yeyang was afraid he might hurt the little one if he didn’t pay attention to his grip, so he dared not hold him.
Guo Ruoi saw that Daohua was in good spirits and placed the baby beside her pillow, then left with a smile, not disturbing the newly ford family of three.
Daohua looked at the red and wrinkly child, her heart lting: “Though a bit ugly, I don’t disdain you.”
Xiao Yeyang imdiately retorted: “All newborn babies look like this, how could our son be ugly? In the future, he will definitely be a spirited and handso boy.”
