Chapter 56: Liliath’s Fight

Instantly, Liliath’s heart began to beat rapidly as she looked at Cooper’s condensing figure right in front of her eyes.

At that mont, the sound of a ssage ca from her communicator.

She guessed that the ssage ca from Gu Ding. Gu Ding probably knew what had happened to her, but instead of looking down to read the ssage, her eyes remained locked on her opponent’s body. Not once did she dare to let her guard down.

“I didn’t expect the people who killed my five n to be two kids,” Cooper’s split-body was also a bit surprised by Liliath’s appearance.

He did not attack imdiately because he had yet to sense any danger from the original body. This was also one of the weaknesses of the Shadow Body – the original body could feel all changes from the split-body, but not the other way around. If he knew that the original body was in danger, he would have killed Liliath imdiately.

Without uttering a word, Liliath quickly changed the Combat Armor in her hands into a light energy sniper rifle. Swiftly, she placed the body on her shoulder and loaded the ammunition. Throughout the act, not once did her eyes leave Cooper’s split-body.

The combination of a light energy weapon and light energy bullets was very effective on people infected with the virus. Even so, Liliath knew that it would be unlikely that she would be able to defeat her opponent, but it would at least buy her so ti.

She was not sure what was happening on Gu Ding’s side because he had not co back yet. This only ant one thing – he had encountered an opponent himself. Although she could not understand why there were two Coopers, she did not rule out the possibility that Gu Ding’s monitor had given him incorrect information.

However, this was not the ti to complain about Gu Ding’s mistakes. It was probably a tiny mistake, and there were actually two of them guarding the place. Three bullets were fired instantly, after which Liliath aid the barrel once again at her opponent.

“You got ...” Cooper teased. Although the shots seed to hit him, there was no damage to him at all. “As I’ve said, firearms are useless against .”

“Aren’t you a virus-infected creature?” Liliath frowned slightly. Even if her opponent was strong, the virus in his body should respond to the ultraviolet radiation in the bullet. However, it seed that it was completely ineffective against her opponent at that mont.

“What a clever little girl. You figured it out,” Cooper pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. “Since you’re no threat to , I’ll capture you alive first. I’ll wait for the original body to co back and do what he wants with you.”

Suddenly, Liliath understood what was going on. The one that had chased Gu Ding was the original body while the one that remained here was his split-body. Liliath had so knowledge about split-body-type abilities and knew that most split-bodies would be weaker than their original body. Most split-bodies got their strength from the original body, which halved the strength of the original body. If this was the case, then Gu Ding was probably winning on his side. Only now did it make sense why Gu Ding’s monitor had made an error. It had correctly shown that there was only one person as the split-body left behind by Cooper had probably hidden sowhere undetectable.

In a flash, Cooper rushed out of the smoky air, still unscathed. He sped forward and grasped Liliath’s throat with one hand. He lifted her up by her throat and said, “How many tis do I have to tell you? When will you believe that firearms are of no use against ?”

“Really?” Liliath gasped the word softly as she was lifted in the air. “Then what about this?”

As soon as she spoke, a spherical tal object fell from her hand toward Cooper’s feet. Imdiately, she closed her eyes.

After a mont, a dazzling light ca from under Cooper’s feet and lit up the entire room, dispelling all the haze around them.

The only thing Liliath heard was Cooper’s split-body wailing sharply as her throat was released.

What Liliath used was a flash grenade. Shadow Bodies could only exist in shadowy places, so when she used the flash grenade, it dispelled the darkness in the room and effectively chased Cooper’s split-body off.

However, the effect was only temporary. The re-condensation of Shadow Bodies would only take a few minutes, and Liliath did not have many flash grenades left. She only had four left in her hand.
