Chapter 470 - Fu ixu Cancels On Jia Li
After cross-checking her lists, Jia Li called FangSu and Fu ixu out to invite them for tea during her lunch break.
"Can you make it by this ti, because I really have sothing important to talk about?" Jia Li asked over the phone and the two ladies agreed to et her.
Fu ixu just finished a eting with her manager and her agency's director, so she had free ti currently, while FangSu said had a rehearsal but would co to et her before attending it.
Jia Li was happy they could make out ti to see her despite having their own schedule. Another option would have been to talk to them at ho but she was not sure they would still be awake by the ti she returned ho, since she doesn't reach ho on ti these days, so she asked to et outside.
Imdiately it was ti for her lunch break, Jia Li picked up her phone, car keys and purse before leaving her workplace.
Arriving at the cafe she was to et the Fu sisters, Jia Li was surprised that they were already sitting there and waiting for her.
"I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting." Jia Li apologized as she hugged them one after another before going to sit down.
"Not at all, I just got here and ixu only arrived 2 minutes ago," FangSu replied with a smile.
"I have to thank you both for coming out to see . Please make your order first before we go straight to business." Jia Li said and called a waiter to take their orders.
"Jia Li, what did you want to talk about, I know it's serious by the way you look." Fu ixu asked with a curious gaze on Jia Li.
Jia Li thought it would be good to start talking about business while waiting for their order to arrive, so she started off by bringing up the model work she had for them, before exploding the kind of competition show FJ was hosting according to what Sunny revealed to her.
"...so I would like you to consider my proposal. I have confidence in my work and I know you will get a good exposure since the show would look like the Autumn Fashion Show." Jia Li said to them.
FangSu was the first person to speak. "Sister-in-law, your proposal is better and it makes want to take up the job imdiately. I will speak to my manager about it, so he can make an arrangent for that day."
"Really? Thank you!" Jia Li said gratefully. She had thought that she would have to do a little more talking before FangSu would agree, so she was very happy when she said she would speak to her manager to make a provision for that date.
"There is no need to thank . You have made want to do this and besides, this will start to help to fulfill my dreams of working with FJ!" FangSu replied.
FangSu's career dream has always been to work with FJ but since Bai Jun ca into the future and made her burn the bridges, she has not had any opportunity of stepping foot inside FJ to do anything. Now, this opportunity Jia Li presented, would be a stepping stone for her.
One down! It remained Fu ixu who was yet to say sothing, so both Jia Li and FangSu glanced at her in participation.
"When did you say the show was again?" Fu ixu asked with a slight frown.
"The first weekend in December, on a Saturday morning precisely." Jia Li replied with a keen gaze on Fu ixu but looking at her change in facial expression, Jia Li guessed that it may not work out.
From the first week of December down to the middle of the second week in December, Fu ixu wouldn't be in the country as she had a shoot in New York City.
When Jia Li heard about this, she was only disappointed for a few seconds before cheering up.
"How co you have a shoot in New York for this long?" FangSu asked with a frown.
"I'm coming from a eting with my manager and director and we just concluded about this matter. This is an international opportunity which I can't miss, especially when I was asked for." Fu ixu replied.
"It's okay, I will fill your place up." Jia Li said to her.
"Jia Li, I'm so sorry about this. I would have loved to make the headlines in your dress but I will have to pass. But if you are having trouble contacting soone to fill my place, I can recomnd a senior to you." Fu ixu said as she tries to make up for her absence.
"No don't worry, I have it all covered. Thank you for your ti and help, I really appreciate it. Please have sothing to eat before leaving." Jia Li said to them as the waiter served their order.
Jia Li was happy that Sunny's advice has a role to play in this current situation because she won't be left stranded, as she can now use the backup plan she prepared for Fu ixu.
"You have been coming back late recently, what's the progress of your work?" Fu ixu asked.
"I have made 3 dresses, but they are still plain, I haven't applied the finishing touches on them. I will only start working on their touches when I have the base of the dresses completed." Jia Li replied.
Since the start of the competition, she has been going ho late because she has been working overti. And the worst was this week, she now returns ho around 7 p.m. because of the work she has to do in the office.
"I wish you the best because I can see how tiring this is." FangSu said to her.
"It is tiring but I have to continue working hard for the reward." Jia Li replied.
Jia Li was the first person to finish her snacks because she was working with ti.. She kept glancing at her wristwatch while eating and finally when she was done eating, she left FangSu and Fu ixu after saying goodbye to them and paying for their order.
