Chapter 41 - Her Secret Crush
"What? Am I wrong?." Mrs. Qin asked as she took a piece of the fruit and out into her mouth, her gaze never leaving Jia Li as she chewed on the Apple ????.
"Mum, who gave you that impression?." Jia Li asked with a frown as she tried to stop her racing heart from beating faster.
"You gave that impression." Mrs. Qin replied with a smile and seeing that Jia Li still had sothing to say, she stopped her.
"We will talk about this later. Cut the fruits quickly and bring it over, I will serve the water." Mrs. Qin said as she opened the refrigerator and brought out dour bottles of water.
She placed them on the tray and left for the living room. She returned to the kitchen to get the glass cups, and after smiling at Jia Li, she left again.
Jia Li heaved a sigh as she patted her hot cheeks. She really wanted to see her face and check out if her feelings were truly portrayed on her face. But too bad she couldn't see her face.
After cutting the apple, she washed so grapes and added them to the plate of fruits before carrying it out, while trying hard to manage her facial expressions.
It was a hidden secrete that she had feelings for Li Huan, she had always had a crush on her tall, smart and handso Hugh school senior, but she kept her feelings hidden.
She didn't know if it was love since she didn't know what that ans, but she knew she liked being around him.
Serving the fruits, Mr. Qin gestured to Li Huan to eat.
"Thank you!." Li Huan said as he picked up a piece of Apple to eat.
As they enjoyed the fruits, they talked about so things and a little mory from the past. But all in all, they had a hearty discussion.
"Aunty, Uncle, I will be leaving now." Li Huan says to them while checking his wristwatch.
"You are leaving already?." Mrs. Qin asked.
"Yes. I will co to visit again before I travel back." Li Huan said with a polite smile.
"You are free to co and visit anyti you want. You were Jia Li's senior in high school, and you always had her back, you can co and visit any ti you want." Mr. Qin said to him.
"Then I would have to trouble Aunty and Uncle to take in." Li Huan joked.
"It's not troubleso at all. We will be happy if you visit often." Mrs. Qin said as she patted his shoulder.
Mrs. Qin then turned to Jia Li and asked her to walk Li Huan out.
Jia Li smiled in agreent and followed Li Huan outside the house. Outside the door, Li Huan stopped in his steps and turned to glance at Jia Li, while Jia Li glanced at him in confusion.
Li Huan patted her hair twice before saying to her with a harmless smile, "On my way back, I was imagining what you would look like now, since I haven't seen you in three years, and it turned out that I wasn't disappointed. You have really grown into a beautiful young woman."
Jia Li blushed at his comnt, but she mouthed a word of thanks.
With him still staring at her with a smile, Jia Li felt the situation was awkward, so she cleared her throat.
"Brother Li Huan, when are you going to the City?." She asked as she gazed at his face.
"I took a week off from work, so I will be around for a week." Li Huan replied as he turned around and started walking away in slow steps, and instinctively, Jia Li followed him.
"That's good." Jia Li said as she tried to hide the excitent in her tone, but it didn't go unnoticed by Li Huan, who smiled to himself.
"You look happy to see , did you miss ?." Li Huan asked in a gentle tone while patiently waiting for Jia Li's reply.
Jia Li was taken aback by his question, and when she was trying to reply, she started to stamr. Li Huan smiled and touched her hair again saying,
"Don't mind , I was joking. How is college?." He asked, changing the topic.
"College? college is fine." Jia Li replied with her face down. She was still embarrassed by his previous question.
"Alright, you can go back now, I will see you too." Li Huan said as he stopped in his steps.
"Tomorrow?." Jia Li asked with a slight frown.
"Why? you don't want to see ?." Li Huan asked with a smile, and Jia Li quickly refuted his words.
"No it's not that, I'm going to school tomorrow."
"Okay, we will see when you co back. Go back." Li Huan said as he gave her a little push.
Jia Li waved at him before walking back into her house. Li Huan resud walking after he saw her winter her house. He had a smile on his face as he walked back to his house.
"Has he gone?." Mrs. Qin asked imdiately Jia Li walked back into the living room.
"Yes." Jia Li replied and attempted to walk past her parents, but Mrs. Qin asked, "What did you two talk about?."
"You..." Mr. Qin said with an unbelievable look on his face.
Jia Li looked surface at the question as she called out, "Mum!."
"Alright, go to your room." Mrs. Qin said as she shooed her away with a smile.
Jia Li looked wronged as she walked back to her room.
"Why did you do that?." Mr. Qin asked with a frown.
"It's so fun teasing her. I don't know why she is so shy. I'm worried that she can be easily tricked since she doesn't have thick skin." Mrs. Qin said.
"Do you think by doing things this way it would work?." Mr. Qin asked with his gaze on her.
"It will work, at least she will get used to hearing say things like that." Mrs. Qin replied as she picked up the remote and turned on the Tv.
"No, if you continue teasing her, she may end up not talking to you again. You know how shy our daughter is, she will not be able to handle your teasing words." Mr. Qin reminded her.
"Okay, I have heard you, let's continue with the drama." Mrs. Qin said as she gestured to the Tv.
