DAVINA

I was pulled into a trance, as my soul was being lulled slowly to sleep. The pain from the sharp throbbing in my rear had now spread across my entire body, trapping my soul in.

At that mont, the surge of power I felt, the craziness, and the prowling danger inside were disappearing with the wind.

But, then I was floating on soft clouds, the comfort I needed finally seeping inside of .

"My child..."

I heard a whisper, soothing and gripping. It was unlike anything I had ever heard before. The love warped within, and the sweetness delighted like I was a beloved and it ward my heart.

"My child..." The sa voice ca again and my eyes opened slightly. I wasn’t t with the jagged forest that was lodged deep within my mind. I wasn’t t with the faces of the unknown voices I had heard.

It was sothing else. Clouds that surrounded my skin, fluffy and calming. The bright halo that rested on , could only be compared to the heavenly realm.

My head whipped to the side as I stood up to my feet, supported by thick clouds.

And my eyes t the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Ethereal and otherworldly.

"Am...am I dead?" I gasped.

"No, my child." She chuckled, taking my hand softly.

Oh, that peace I felt from her. And I could only think of one person, Selene.

My eyes were glued to her, never letting go. She was a fairytale in my mind, but she stood here in reality.

"I brought you here to show you sothing important—"

"What?" My child-like excitent took over, eyes blinking all around to know what it was. "A surprise? I never had that before."

She smiled, ever so slightly but it felt like a cool breeze. As she clasped both my hands in hers, she tucked my stray strands of hair behind my ear.

And as her palm rested on my chin softly, she whispered, "You have suffered so much, my child."

"I made a mistake."

"What mistake?" My brows creased.

"She is too forgiving. That’s her mistake."

We heard a voice and she went quiet, glancing to another part of the endless space. Another person appeared, with lethal beauty, and eyes sharp like knives. She moved with grace as if anything beneath her was dirt.

My eyes narrowed, realizing I knew this person. The energy was too great for to miss. And I resonated with it.

"Who is she?"

"My sister, Seraphine."

And it clicked. The wicked wolf that had pulled underwater and taken over my body.

I glanced sharply at her, "So, it was you—"

"It wasn’t , alright?" She rolled her eyes. "Bla your mother for selling you to the—"

"Stop it, Sera!" The goddess hissed, but the anger in her eyes vanished in a second, leaving no trace.

But Seraphina wasn’t about to relent, "You already made a mistake by letting her be born to that woman."

"And now, you aren’t going to punish her for putting in harm’s way? For putting her own child in harm’s way too?"

She stepped forward, her sharp eyes narrowed on Selene, and she muttered, "Are you just too rciful or heartless?"

"Uhh..." I stuttered. "What’s going on here?"

Imdiately, Sera jumped in, "You recall the ti at the forest—"

"I will tell her!" Selene cut in. "Else, you will rile her up unnecessarily."

"Well, if you didn’t want to do that, you wouldn’t bless her with ." Seraphine snickered.

For the first ti, I saw Selene roll her eyes, but her smile replaced her irritation in seconds.

"Listen to carefully, my child. You must not be furious and don’t bla yourself..."

She began narrating everything that happened, from the mont I was in a hideout with three boys. Three boys I finally realized were my mates and it was as if my mories were being put in place brick by brick.

I saw myself attacking the pack mbers I had once smiled at, and the guilt that surged through made stagger.

But there was another pain too, sharp and discomforting with a fresh fester of betrayal.

"Are you saying my mother willingly delivered to the Alpha, again?"

"Of course!" Seraphine cut in. "But why do you address her as your mother, still? If not for Selene taking control now, that poison would have killed us both!"

"Tell , Davina..." She clutched my arms and the sinister gaze in her eyes, made twitch. Sothing was igniting inside too.

"What are you going to do to her? Kill her, right?"

"You both have killed enough!" Selene hissed.

"Right now, what you should think of is how to stop Diego from carrying out his devilish desires. If he doesn’t use you both, he will find another way."

"A more deadly way, to bring the world to ruins."

I glanced at Selene, "What does he want exactly? Power?"

"Not just power!" Seraphine hissed. "Don’t you get it. He wants—"

"Sera!" Selene cut in again, and my wolf went silent as she glared at her sister.

The goddess stepped forward, holding my chin again, "That will be for you to find out, my child."

"You are blessed with the grace and lethalness of the blood wolf to use at your will. But deep inside you both, holds a love for the world and the creatures that walk through the earth. It’s your job to bring them all together and protect them."

"But..." My eyes darted between them. "How do I even do that? Everyone would want a piece of the cake, to use the blood wolf at their own will too."

"Not your mates, child. They will help you, always." Selene chuckled proudly, and the thought of those troubleso trio made smile slightly.

However, when I thought of how I had slashed them with my claws, a knot tightened in my chest. I had them as my pillar of support for sure, but knowing how wicked and dangerous the world could be, I almost took a step back.

"What if I don’t succeed?"

"I don’t take failure!" Seraphine snapped. "Don’t even think of that!"

The next second, she slapped Selene’s hand off and clutched my jaw instead.

"Are you ready for this journey?" She asked, as her eyes glead with excitent. "No one will be able to take us down! Never!"

"Whatever they did to control us, has been nullified. We will take control."

Her brimming energy was rubbing off on , stripping away the calmness I had.

And I nodded, "We will."

In the blink of an eye, she disappeared and I felt a surge of energy inside of . And the next second, my body was falling off the clouds, plunging into an abyss.
