DAVINA
"What...what are you doing, Chris?" I stuttered, while drawing closer to Shawn. But he held my wrist even tighter, and his hardened gaze was still on Shawn.
"All I am saying is..." He turned to look at , "They are clearly in trouble and you need to get away from them."
"They are my mates."
"How sure are you?" He snapped. "You don’t even have your wolf yet and they also don’t—"
"Do you want to show you?" Shawn cut in, and the next second, he wrenched my hand off Chris’s grip and quickly, he pushed behind .
"Show what?"
I knew what was coming. Chris wouldn’t be able to stand Shawn’s wolf the mont he morphed.
"Do you want to believe you have one?" He sneered.
"You are so brazen, aren’t you?" Shawn hissed, and at that mont, his claws lengthened just a bit, with fur sprouting up his body.
I had to stop this, no matter what.
"Enough!" I snapped, as I pushed Shawn straight to the door while I glanced at Chris. "We will be leaving now."
"Don’t do anything stupid, Shawn."
It was almost dawn and the guards would have retreated from the outskirts of town. We could escape now, if we were careful.
We t up with Uriel and Ethan who didn’t seem bothered about what was happening but they had the sa vile look as Shawn toward Chris.
"Let’s go."
However, Chris pulled back again, "Are you just going to leave like this? Naked?"
"Let her go, Chris." Ethan stepped forward this ti, as his eyes narrowed.
But Chris didn’t budge, "Is this not weird to you? Three boys on the run claiming to be your mate?"
"It’s a long story, Chris. Please, we will leave now."
But he pressed, pulling closer with eyes that bore heavy words he couldn’t speak of. He glanced at them with disdain, "Have you heard of three n belonging to one woman? Wake up, Davina! What the hell—"
"Let her go!" Ethan’s gaze was a nace and it was too late to stop him. Too late to stop him from swiping his claws in Chris’ face.
Swish!
Blood spurted out, as those sharp claws pierced the side of his face. The next second, he staggered and fell to the floor with a thud.
He couldn’t believe what had happened, as he held his face with shaky hands that got stained with his blood.
"Davina..." He gasped, with tears in his eyes. His pain was imnse.
My chest tightened, "I am sorry."
"Who the hell are they?" His lips quivered, as he pointed at them. "Who the hell are these bastards—"
"Uhm, we need to leave." I pushed the boys to the door, however, Uriel held back, going to sit on the chair beside Chris.
"Uriel..."
But Shawn quickly pulled back, covering my mouth as he whispered in my ear, "Relax, Uriel has this under control."
However, the Uriel I saw now wasn’t the sa one I knew. His warm smile thinned at the edges, like a dagger ready to strike.
I watched his claws lengthen, as he curled his fingers around Chris’ chin.
"Don’t touch ..." Chris begged, but he couldn’t even move an inch. Uriel’s gaze was too intense, as his wolf was on the edge too.
"You don’t want to be touched. But you touched my mate." He tilted his head in wonder.
"What should I do to you now? Should I do this..." His hand went down his neck, and his grip got tighter. The knot in my chest tightened even more when I watched color drain from my friend’s face.
The fear and pain that crossed his eyes, made shiver.
"Please, stop..." I whimpered.
But Uriel shifted his body and covered my friend. I couldn’t see him.
All I could hear was his scared voice, "I will do anything..."
"I can let you stay here for as long as possible. Just get...get your hands off ."
"That’s what I’m talking about." Uriel laughed, the sound like a wicked tune from the pits of hell.
He turned to , transforming into his warm self, "It’s settled."
But then I shook my head, "We need to leave—"
"Not right now. The guards are still scattered around. However, Chris could do us a little favor, right?"
"Right!" He nodded frantically.
Soon, we settled in the house while the brothers ordered Chris to get a few supplies, clothes, and the pills I needed.
He glanced at , and I quickly looked away while my cheeks burned.
As soon as he walked out of the door, Shawn drew into his embrace, "You shouldn’t have to feel embarrassed for being with your mates."
"I am not." My brows creased.
"Then what’s with that look in your eyes?"
I rolled my eyes, "I just have basic manners, you know. We are in his house, and we disrespected and threatened him. Don’t you see how bad we all look?"
But then, they shrugged, "It doesn’t matter."
"We don’t care."
I facepald myself. How could I forget that these boys didn’t care about anything?
An hour later, the sun had started to rear its head, and I couldn’t wait. Couldn’t wait until the mont when the full moon would take its course too.
"The full moon..." I muttered, as I recalled my mother’s conversation with the Alpha.
They were definitely planning sothing for the night. I glanced at the boys, who seed too tired to even open their eyes.
All they waited for was Chris to get back.
"Is there anything bothering you?" Ethan asked, without even opening his eyes.
"Of course not..." I shook my head. "Just go back to sleep."
Too many things had happened, they had waged a fight and I didn’t want to trouble them. But everything had to be over, right?
We just had to get out of the Packs and we will be free.
A minute later, Chris burst in through the door and I stood up to my feet.
My eyes twinkled with a smile, "Do you have everything?"
He shook his head, and I noticed the grim look on his face. My smile dimd, as I glanced at the papers in his hands.
"Who are these bastards?" He pointed at my mates, brows furrowed. His chest heaved, breath shallow. He ran back ho as if he had fire under his bosom.
"What do you have there?"
I stord toward him, snatching the papers. My fingers curled around the thick papers as my breath hitched.
The brothers’ faces were plastered all over it, with a bounty notice.
"These boys have gone feral and are a threat to the Packs, and have attacked the Alpha and also killed guards ant to protect. If they are found, report their whereabouts to the Alpha to enjoy huge rewards."
I swallowed, as my stomach dipped, "You...you didn’t inform anyone they are here, right?"
Chris stared at , lips quivering.
"You didn’t, right?"
