DAVINA

I limped, with my blood trailing on the floor behind . My shattered skin which had started to heal up was pulling apart again, and the pain was burning hot like multiple coals on my skin.

And as my sweat trickled down the open flesh, burning even more, I bent over, almost screaming in agony.

But I couldn’t let out that deep grueling pain. The guards were all around too and I was doing my best to avoid them.

However, it wasn’t enough.

Even though the night sky had fallen, they could notice the girl lurking around in the shadows and limping.

"Hey! Who the hell are you?" A sharp voice pierced my ears and I halted.

My breath shook, eyes darting to the side to see five guards approaching.

I closed my eyes, dragging my legs on the floor while I stuttered, "I...I need to get back ho."

My face was hidden away from them, belly tucked in so I wouldn’t breathe too loudly.

"What is this sll of blood?" They didn’t turn away, and instead, they rallied around .

"Who are you? Let see your face!"

"I beg you..." My head was down, while I sobbed. "I have been injured and I need to go back ho."

"Well, you have to identify yourself and if you are injured, you should go to the pack’s hospital instead."

"No..." I hissed, angered by their constant questioning and voices slithering into my ears. "I want to go ho!"

"Can’t you just let go?"

I moved again, attempting to go through the gaps between them. But they closed in on , and I knew it was that mont when I would finally be busted.

I wished the heavens could fall and the Moon Goddess would step on their heads with her large feet. Crushing them and telling them to leave the hell alone.

But that wasn’t happening. Instead, the burn inside had turned into a hot coal fury coupled with the pain rippling through .

"Hey!" One guard held my shoulder, pulling back to face him. "Oh, it’s you, Davina!"

But then, my head snapped to look at him, blazing, "Let go, you bastard!"

It wasn’t a scream, it was a growl from deep within that sent the guard a few feet away from . As he staggered, he fell on his butt, pointing at in shock.

"She...she...her eyes..."

My chest heaved, as I was oblivious to the nonsense he was saying. I moved, my figure closing in on him and my breathing like the soft hums of death.

I wanted to run my claws through his neck and slash his throat out.

"Get her away from !" He scread but I didn’t stop.

The other guards laughed, but then they pulled on too, and at that mont, their faces drained of color while they pulled away from .

"That’s right..." I smirked, eyes going even wider. "Get the hell away from ."

I willed myself away from them, staggering slightly. But a few seconds later, I could walk even better with the sizzling pain in my back dying off bit by bit.

But then, the guards didn’t stop.

"Catch her!" They scread from behind. "She is a fucking monster!"

"Oh no..." I muttered, and I took off on my feet too. I wasn’t sure if the Alpha had sent them to again, but I sure wouldn’t let them get .

That familiar feeling of rebellion, and unknown strength possessed once again. I gained speed in seconds, shooting past the rows and rows of houses.

My mother’s house was in sight, and the guards were still a considerable distance away from .

As I got to the door, I struggled, turning the doorknob the skillful way I knew how to. The days when I would sneak ho while it was locked by my mother paid off, but the minute the door opened, I heard their voices behind .

"Got you, you bitch!"

I turned to them again, glaring at them but the next second, they raised a gun at ..

"Don’t fucking try to scare us. Whatever you think you are, a fucking silver bullet would tear you apart!"

"Now, slowly turn around, raise your hands up, and follow us back to the mansion gently."

"Or what?" My lips twitched.

"Can you kill ? The Alpha will beat your ass if you dare pull the trigger!"

As much as I knew he hated , I knew he wanted alive, to make suffer.

"Then follow us gently." They said.

"I won’t." My lips parted as I let out a soft chuckle.

I closed in on the guard who raised the gun at him. My gaze held his, while he started to stagger backward.

"Shoot ..." I pushed.

His finger went to the trigger, but I didn’t flinch. There was no iota of fear inside .

"Don’t shoot." The other guards tried to stop him, but then he didn’t listen.

I closed in on him, watching his fingers quiver even more and the next second, he pulled the trigger.

Bang!

But then, I dodged like I was riding on a wave. The bullet grazed my cheek and it fired straight into the neck of the guard behind .

Squirt!

Blood pumped out from his neck, and in that mont, the air turned tense. The guards turned toward the injured one while they pulled the shooter.

"What the hell have you done?"

They went into a disarray, punching and slapping him. But still, he had his eyes on with his face gaunt and frozen.

"She..." He kept pointing at , with horror on his face.

They quickly pulled him away while I waved my hand at them.

"Say my greetings to the Alpha..." I grinned.

However, I knew they wouldn’t dare go back to that wicked man. He would end their lives the minute he realized they couldn’t capture .

But as they left, I felt strength leaving my body and my back caved in. However, I still felt the sa burn, it wasn’t pain, but it was sothing trying to force its way out of and making thirst for sothing.

I held my head, staggering away from the house with my reasoning blurring. I was losing myself, and at this mont, all I wanted was blood.

Blood on my hands. Anyhow and anywhere.

The sll of the guard’s blood led on, and I followed in its trail.
