At the Kingdom Averion Border

Alaric’s army finally reached the border. Upon their arrival, they saw the encampnt set up by the royal knights of Kingdom Eldara.

"We’re finally here!" Princess Thalia murmured as she stepped down from the carriage.

Avan, the Captain of Royal Guards, imdiately approached and greeted them. He courtly bowed his head in front of Thalia.

"Your Highness! I’m glad to see you safe."

Thalia smiled broadly, pulling Alaric to her side. "Yes, Avan. I’m safe because of this person. This is General Alaric Stormholt. My hero. My brother should reward him properly!"

Avan just smiled awkwardly at the ntion of Crown Prince Cassian. Then he greeted Alaric with a nod, extending his hand for a handshake.

"It’s my pleasure to et General Stormholt. I’ve heard a lot of things about your achievents. You are a mighty warrior. The Hero of Kingdom Averion." Avan praised Alaric, trying to get on his good side. "Thank you for saving our princess."

Alaric simply nodded, his expression unreadable. He recognized Avan as the Captain of the Royal Guards. Thalia had ntioned him during their arrival.

"I’m also glad to et you, Captain Avan. You think so highly of . But in fact, you were the one who had so many achievents known not only to Kingdom Eldara but also to other kingdoms." Alaric returned the complint to Avan, making him feel proud.

’Haha! I like this young general! Though he doesn’t look approachable, he knows how to complint people.’ Avan thought to himself.

"By the way, where is my brother? I will introduce Alaric to him!" Thalia deliberately called Alaric by his na to be more affectionate.

"He is in the carriage." Avan paused for a mont before leaning in to whisper. "Crown Prince Cassian has been in a foul mood, Your Highness."

Avan warned Thalia about Prince Cassian’s grumpy mood.

Thalia just took a deep sigh before staring at Alaric worriedly. She just hoped her brother would not take his grumpiness on Alaric once they t and talked.

"Alright. I’ll deal with my brother."

Though Thalia had a close relationship with her brother, she still couldn’t control how he would behave. After all, Prince Cassian believed that he was the absolute rule!

"Alaric, let’s greet my brother." Thalia tugged his arm.

Frowning deeply, Alaric simply removed her hand from holding him.

Thalia pouted at his action. ’Until now, he has still been upset about what I did. He truly holds a grudge. Hmm. But I still like him.’

Avan escorted the two to Crown Prince Cassian’s carriage. While on their way, they ran into Sylvana, the Seer.

Sylvana stopped on her track upon seeing Thalia and the gorgeous warrior next to her.

’Is he Alaric Stormholt, the young general of Kingdom Averion.’

As if Alaric noticed soone’s gaze, he turned in Sylvana’s direction, locking eyes with her.

At that certain mont, a sudden foresight flashed in Sylvana’s mind, seeing a glimpse of Alaric’s future.

It was only a ten-second vision, yet Sylvana saw sothing vivid– Alaric’s bloodied appearance with his sharp sword slashing every enemy that ca his way.

Her heart raced as she continued staring at Alaric. Her expression turned grim, clenching her fists.

’This is not right! Alaric might beco a threat to Prince Cassian’s goal! He must be eliminated!’ Sylvana thought to herself.

In her vision, she thought Prince Cassian would beco the ruler of all the kingdoms. But after seeing Alaric today, she beca confused.

Alaric possessed the aura of a war god! He was fated to win every battle! She could see imnse luck in his countenance. Truly, this young general was an extraordinary warrior!

anwhile, Thalia deliberately ignored Sylvana’s presence. She was annoyed with the way she was staring at Alaric.

With her jealous nature, Thalia imdiately pulled Alaric, forcing him to walk faster. She didn’t want to introduce another beautiful woman to Alaric.

She had to admit that Sylvana possessed a unique charm that could captivate a man’s heart.

"Your Highness, Princess Thalia and General Stormholt have arrived!" Avan announced. His voice snapped Thalia out of her deep thoughts.

A few seconds later, the carriage’s door was pushed open and Prince Cassian’s overbearing presence erged from it.

"Brother!" Thalia exclaid excitedly.

But Prince Cassian maintained his cold expression, eyeing Alaric from head to toe.

’So this is Alaric Stormholt. The man whom my sister wants to marry.’ He arched his eyebrow at that thought.

Alaric had a stronger build than a usual knight. His posture exuded valor and power. He didn’t get intimidated by the crown prince’s intense gaze. He even t him in the eye as though they were just equals.

’Tsk! I hate his gut already. How dare he look at directly in my eyes.’ Prince Cassian narrowed his eyes, gritting his teeth. He didn’t conceal his displeasure toward Alaric.

Even Avan and Thalia noticed the growing tension between Alaric and Prince Cassian. Though the two n were not speaking, their eyes seed to communicate with each other.

"What took you so long? I got bored waiting for you and your army. Is this how your kingdom treats a royalty from another kingdom?" Prince Cassian spoke with his usual sharp tongue. He mocked Alaric as soon as he opened his mouth.

"Bow to , young general! Give so respect!" The crown prince commanded Alaric in his stern cold voice.

Avan bit his lower lip, sweating profusely as he darted his gaze back and forth between Alaric and Crown Prince Cassian. His crown prince didn’t hold back.

anwhile, Thalia’s jaw dropped in disbelief. Her brother was acting out again, throwing tantrums.

’Can’t he tone down a bit? Did he forget that this man is the one who rescued his sister!’ Thalia pouted her lips, looking at her brother helplessly.

’Alaric will beco his brother-in-law! He should get along well with him,’ she added in her thoughts.

Thalia was about to speak up and defend Alaric when suddenly, Alaric bowed his head, greeting Prince Cassian politely.

"Forgive for my rudeness, Your Highness. I hope you can let this slide in exchange for my heroic act of saving your sister. I won’t ask for any rewards... just forgive if I have offended you."

Alaric deliberately said those words so that Prince Cassian would no longer be compelled to reward him. He had a nagging feeling that Thalia would continue to pursue the matter of proposing marriage as his reward.

Alaric purposely offended Prince Cassian as soon as they t so that the crown prince would be the first to object if Thalia ever expressed her desire to marry him.

Prince Cassian sneered at Alaric’s response. "Interesting. I thought your heroic deeds had gone to your head. At least, you still know your status."

"Brother! Stop being so unreasonable! This man is soone I feel indebted to. Please show so respect!" Thalia could no longer stay quiet. She hated the way Prince Cassian belittled Alaric in front of her.

That was the only ti Prince Cassian shifted his gaze to his sister. "Are you talking back to , Thalia?"

Thalia’s words were caught in her throat the mont she t her brother’s sharp gaze. ’Damn it! I can’t defy him. He is still frightening as ever.’

Seeing Thalia and Prince Cassian interact, Alaric smiled inwardly. He was glad that Prince Cassian was not the type of brother who overspoiled his sister.
