Five Days Later: At Kingdom Zephyra...

Chancellor Gustav had just finished his strategic eting with the other court officials when a knight ca to him, holding a bird ssenger.

"Chancellor, we received a ssage from an unknown sender."

The knight presented the wooden capsule containing the letter.

Chancellor Gustav picked it up and read the content.

"It seems that Igrin is not the only one who knows about the assassination threat for our king. The person who sent this revealed that Kingdom Averion has ford an assassination team and they set out on a journey to our kingdom."

The knight was surprised when he heard that. "What are we going to do, Chancellor?"

"I have this under control. No one will be able to harm our King. I will catch them," Chancellor Gustav said with conviction.

"Shall we send more knights to our kingdom borders? We need to catch them before entering the palace."

Chancellor Gustav shook his head. "No. We must lure them here in the palace. They have soone whom we need to bring here." He was referring to Princess Eve.

Chancellor Gustav was still talking to the royal knight when Crown Prince Leonard approached them.

"Chancellor Gustav!" Prince Leonard called him out excitedly.

The two n courtly bowed their heads as they greeted the crown prince.

"Why are you here, Crown Prince?" Chancellor Gustav asked him while signaling the knight to leave them.

"I have a piece of good news for you!" Prince Leonard said in his elated voice.

The old chancellor frowned, wondering why Prince Leonard was very excited.

"Your naughty son is returning ho!" Prince Leonard delivered the ssage.

Chancellor Gustav was taken aback montarily. It had been so long since the last ti he had seen his son. He had a complicated relationship with him.

"Sigh. I don’t know whether I should be happy or not. If he’s here, we will just argue and fight."

Prince Leonard let out a soft chuckle. "It’s alright, Chancellor. I think this is the right ti for him to co ho and reconcile with you. Maybe, he finally realized his mistake. Who knows he will beco filial to you now and will agree to join the court."

Chancellor Gustav took a deep sigh. "King Zaraki had offered him the highest position in the military. My foolish son didn’t accept it. I felt so embarrassed when he rejected your father’s offer. I want to beat him. Who would have thought he would leave the kingdom after that."

"Don’t worry, Chancellor. I will try to convince my friend once he is back. Can I inform your daughter about this? She has been missing her brother." Prince Leonard asked him.

Gustav’s daughter was Prince Leonard’s fiancée. He believed that his friend was returning to attend their wedding.

"No. Don’t tell her. We are not sure if my son is telling the truth. I will only believe it if he shows up in front of . I don’t want my daughter to have false hope about her brother returning ho."

Prince Leonard just nodded in understanding.

"How is the Eldara Seer?" Chancellor Gustav changed the topic.

Five days ago, Sylvana was put under Prince Leonard’s care. She had been staying in his Pavilion.

"Oh. Sylvana is well-behaved. She is getting along well with your daughter, Erika. I left them in the pavilion as soon as I read the ssage from your son."

Chancellor Gustav stared at him intently. "I didn’t expect that you would treat the Seer of Eldara with kindness, Prince Leonard. I have to warn you. She might betray you."

Prince Leonard scratched his face and smiled sheepishly.

"You don’t have to worry about her. She is in our territory. She can do nothing against us," Prince Leonard reassured him.

"Hmm. It’s better to be more cautious. Our kingdom enemies are trying to assassinate your father. They are afraid of him." Chancellor Gustav reminded him.

"I will keep that in mind, Chancellor."

anwhile, in Crown Prince’s Pavilion, Sylvana and Erika were hanging out in the garden area.

Sylvana still couldn’t believe that she wasn’t treated as a prisoner or a slave. She was like an honored guest, wandering freely in the palace.

Prince Leonard was very approachable and friendly. He was different from King Zaraki. She wondered if he was truly the biological son of King Zaraki.

"Sylvana! Is it fun traveling outside your kingdom? I haven’t left Zephyra even once. So I’m curious." Erika asked her expectantly.

Sylvana focused her attention back on Erika. This lady was introduced to her by Prince Leonard. But Sylvana didn’t know that Erika was Chancellor Gustav’s daughter.

"You can see beautiful scenery and et other people. Why do you ask? Are you planning to leave Kingdom Zephyra?"

Erika smiled faintly before shaking her head. "No. I’m just thinking about my brother who left ho to pursue his dreams. He wants to explore the world, instead of staying in our Kingdom and serving the king."

Sylvana remained quiet. She could sense that Lady Erika had been missing her brother.

"I haven’t seen him for five years. But he had never forgotten my birthday. He always sent gifts. With that, I know he is doing well and he is alive out there. I miss him a lot. I hope he will co ho and attend my wedding." Erika began confiding her feelings. She was glad that she could talk to Sylvana about this.

Erika never dare ntion her brother at ho for fear of offending her father. Chancellor Gustav had an argunt with her brother before he left Kingdom Zephyra. The father and son had a love-and-hate relationship.

"Is your brother a great man?" Sylvana asked her with intrigue.

Erika nodded frantically. "Yes! My brother is a great man. In fact, he is the greatest warrior of Zephyra! No one could beat him in combat. He could be a general. But he threw it all away. My brother is not greedy for power."

"He just wants to be free..." she added. There was deep admiration in her eyes as she talked about her brother.

"I’ll introduce him to you once he returns. I’m certain that you will also like him."
