At Zephyra’s Palace Hall
Sylvana could feel imnse pressure coming from King Zaraki. Her body trembled under his frighteningly cold gaze. She felt her hair stand on end.
She held her breath the mont King Zaraki strode toward her in calculative steps. He was scrutinizing her thoroughly.
Unable to endure his intense gaze, Sylvana lowered her head, not daring to et his eyes. As his footsteps were inching closer and closer to her, her heartbeat began pounding crazily.
She was so scared! She saw a vision of blood! Sylvana felt like King Zaraki was the devil incarnate! So much bloodshed had occurred during his reign as a tyrannical ruler.
At that mont, she began questioning her own vision.
’Am I wrong? Was my vision about Prince Cassian becoming the king of all kings wrong from the start? Did I misinterpret my own vision?’
She doubted whether Prince Cassian stood a chance against King Zaraki—the man before her embodied valor and power. An undefeated King!
She swallowed hard, her entire body was sweating profusely. Then she felt his cold fingers grabbing her chin, lifting it to make her look at him in the eyes.
"Seer of Eldara," King Zaraki uttered in his baritone voice. "What do you see in ? Can you envision my future?" he asked, his lips curling up into a sinister smile.
Sylvana montarily froze in her spot, unable to utter a single word.
King Zaraki burst into a peal of sarcastic laughter. "Are you a real Seer or a fake one? I hate wasting my ti on trash. If you have no use for , then I must discard you."
King Zaraki was always impatient and short-tempered. If you offend him, he will give you an instant death.
"B-Blood..." Sylvana finally found her voice to speak. She badly needed it to survive. She didn’t want to die without seeing Prince Cassian for one last ti.
King Zaraki narrowed his eyes when he heard that.
"Blood? What do you an?" he probed.
Sylvana swallowed hard once more. "I saw b-blood... pool of b-blood w-when I looked at you earlier, Y-Your Majesty." She stuttered from fear.
Unable to control her trembling legs, Sylvana dropped to her knees in front of King Zaraki. "It’s the blood of your enemies... under your feet, Your Majesty."
King Zaraki laughed maniacally at her last words. He was very satisfied to hear that.
"So, I’m not the one who is going to die... but my enemies. They will drown in their own blood! Hahaha!"
Sylvana could only bob her head in response. She didn’t dare lift her head. It was better to look at his feet than at his scary cold dark eyes.
"Crown Prince," King Zaraki said, turning to Prince Leonard. "You have my permission. You can keep her! Do what you want. But don’t kill her just yet."
Crown Prince Leonard smiled at his father gratefully. "I understood, my King. I will take good care of her."
Sylvana could only shut her eyes while gritting her teeth. She knew she was dood. No one could save her now. And she didn’t know what Prince Leonard would do to her.
’Is this my end? Am I going to beco his sex slave?’
She could already imagine her tragic fate. She was aware that a hostage of an enemy kingdom always suffered miserably, sotis making them slaves or using them as tools for n’s pleasure. This was what Crown Prince Cassian had told her before. Won were treated poorly and unjustly while n were being tortured and forced them to work. They held no power.
Just thinking about it, she felt like throwing up. ’No. I prefer to die than beco soone I do not want. My heart and my body only belong to Prince Cassian.’
Sylvana was thinking of ending her life.
"Can you stand?" Prince Leonard asked her softly, extending his right hand to her.
Sylvana gazed up, eting Prince Leonard’s twinkling eyes. He was smiling at her with no malicious intent. She was taken aback for a mont.
"Don’t be afraid. I’m not going to hurt you. My father has already left together with Chancellor Gustav." Prince Leonard talked to her in his friendly tone.
Since her mind was preoccupied with so many thoughts, Sylvana failed to notice that King Zaraki and Chancellor Gustav had already disappeared.
"Are you hungry? I can bring you to the dining hall. Co with ." Prince Leonard grabbed Sylvana’s hand, helping her to stand up.
Without hesitation, Prince Leonard guided her to the dining hall. Upon their arrival, he imdiately ordered the servants to serve them a sumptuous al.
Sylvana was still in a trance, just silently observing Prince Leonard. She didn’t know whether he was just faking his kindness or not. She wouldn’t lower her guard.
Instinctively, her gaze fell on the knife on her table. She could use it to stab herself and end her life now.
’This is my chance to escape from my tragic fate.’ She thought, darting her gaze between the knife and Prince Leonard.
However, before she could grab the knight, Prince Leonard suddenly spoke up.
"Sylvana is your na, right?" He paused, eyeing her aningfully. "If I were you, I wouldn’t do sothing reckless. Treasure your life. You only live once," he warned her as if he had figured out what she was planning to do.
When she heard that, Sylvana could no longer hold it in.
"What do you want from , Your Highness? What are you planning to do with ? Am I going to be your slave? Will I be forced to sleep with you and warm your bed?"
Prince Leonard was at a loss for words. He parted his lips to say a word only to close them again.
There was a mont of silence between them. Then afterward, a bubbly chuckle echoed in the dining hall. Prince Leonard started laughing... a pure laughter.
"Am I a villain in your eyes, Lady Sylvana?" He asked her in between his laughter. "Your imagination is running so wild!"
Sylvana could only look at him in bewildernt and confusion.
"I think you are just hungry. Go and eat first. Then I will tell you what I am going to do with you." Prince Leonard tried his best to stop laughing. He even teared up from laughing too much.
’What is the aning of this? Is he really being kind to right now... with no ulterior motive? But he is King Zaraki’s son. It should be... like father, like son. His father is evil, so he must be too!" Sylvana pondered.
