’My Queen...’ Those words resounded in her ears.
Eve continued walking, going deeper into the forest. Her feet followed the sound of the voice in her mind which was calling her.
’Our Queen...’
"Who are you?" Eve uttered, darting her gaze around her surroundings.
She couldn’t explain why she was hearing this voice in her mind. But for so unknown reason, she didn’t feel scared or threatened. She could feel a sense of security as she continued traversing the forest.
"Where are you? Please show yourself to . Why are you calling ?" Eve asked, her voice loud enough for the creatures in the forest to hear her words.
’I’ve been looking for you for so long, my Queen,’ the srizing voice lingered in her ears.
Eve frowned and paused on her track. She could hear approaching footsteps from behind. She turned around only to be surprised to see a white fox. Its fur was glowing in the dark.
Eve stood frozen in her spot as she gazed at the white fox. The creature was inching closer and closer to her. But instead of getting scared, she also stepped forward, approaching the white fox.
"Are you the one who called here?" She asked.
The familiar voice echoed in her mind once more. ’My Queen... You are finally here. It’s been so long since the last ti we’ve seen each other. You were still a child at that ti and you couldn’t even hear my voice yet.’
Eve looked at the white fox confusedly. She could tell that the one in front of her was no ordinary fox... it was a mystical white fox.
Its glowing furs were srizing in her eyes. However, Eve noticed a few marks on its right front legs, the side of its belly, and on its left cheek. The white fox had so many scars.
"I can’t rember seeing you. What happened to you? Why is your body filled with scars?" Eve crouched down and slowly extended her hand, reaching out to the white fox.
She wanted to touch its scars. All of a sudden, her tears suddenly fell from the corners of her eyes. The white fox moved closer to Eve, licking her tears away.
’Don’t feel sorry for , my Queen. Don’t cry for . I don’t deserve it. You should punish for failing you. I failed to protect you and your mother.’ The white fox apologized to her.
"What do you an? Forgive if I couldn’t rember you. I lost a portion of my childhood mories. Can you tell when and where we t? What happened to my mother?"
Princess Eve would like to know what happened in the past. Perhaps, this white fox could tell her the answer she was seeking.
’Ten years ago. In Moonshade Grave Forest. The evil queen of Averion was hunting you and your mother. That night, Princess Esralda, your mother, planned to escape with you and leave Kingdom Averion. She fought so many hunters. We helped her since we swore loyalty to the Goldwyn Family. Your mother is our previous Queen.’
Eve was dumbfounded upon hearing that. Then she recalled Alaric’s story when they t in the forest. It was part of her lost mory.
"What happened ten years ago? How did my mother die?" Eve asked the white fox in her desperate tone.
The white fox gazed up, watching the moon. There was a hint of sadness in his amber eyes as she recalled what transpired in the Moonshade Grave Forest ten years ago.
’Your mother assigned to protect you. I was supposed to guide you out of the forest and go to the eting place to wait for her. But we were cornered by hunters. I am not powerful enough at that ti. I gained these scars when I fought several hunters to protect you. They shouldn’t catch you or else, the evil queen could use you to threaten your mother.’
As Eve listened to the white fox, a fragnt of mories kept flashing in her mind. She started rembering her lost mory. It seed that the white fox had the ability to recover her lost mories.
As the white fox spoke, the scene kept replaying in her mind as though she was sent back in the past, watching the event with her own eyes.
’I got preoccupied with fighting those hunters. Because of my negligence, I accidentally lost you. I thought sothing bad had happened to you. But then, I slled soone else’s presence in the forest. It was a young warrior. He also fought the hunters, protecting you.’
Eve smiled faintly. "Yes. That’s Alaric– my hero. And now he is my husband."
However, the white fox didn’t agree when Eve called Alaric her hero.
’My Queen, don’t be deceived by that young warrior. He is not your hero! He was the one who surrendered you to the evil queen. Because of that, your mother died!’
Eve’s face turned pale while shaking her head in disbelief. "No! You are wrong! Alaric is a good man. He is not the cause of my mother’s death! Tell you are lying!"
The white fox looked at her eyes intently. ’I have no reason to lie. You are my Queen. I am loyal to you. I will be punished if I lie to you.’
’Listen to , my Queen. If that young warrior hadn’t handed you over to the evil queen, your mother would still be alive. I’ve been searching for that man because I have to avenge the death of our master, Esralda.’
Eve moved back, distancing herself from the white fox. She refused to believe her words. She was scared to know the truth. She had no recollection of that past.
’My Queen, if you are still in doubt, allow to unseal your hidden mories. Before your mother died, she requested that I seal your mories so you wouldn’t rember that tragic incident in the Moonshade Grave Forest. I believe this is the right ti for you to recover your lost mories. I will show you what happened to your mother. You will understand the reason I bla that young warrior. He is also responsible for your mother’s death.’
