"Hold up. No trial? No ghost of the ancient hero? No goddess talking to ? Just, I take the sword and that’s it? That’s pretty underwhelming."

Kai was pretty disappointed that nothing interesting happened to him. He didn’t even feel stronger with the sword in his hand, and he could feel it pulsing with mana. Maybe the sword was just powerful on its own. He didn’t know, nor did he care.

But just when he was about to leave, a voice called out to him.

"That’s interesting."

"Huh?" Turning around, Kai saw a golden silhouette of what looked to be a person. No face, no human features. Just a golden spirit looking thing.

"And you are?" Kai asked

"Rolimont, the first Hero." He responded. "But this is strange. No one is supposed to be able to wield my sword unless they have been given permission by the goddess Gracia."

"Really? Then what about the heroes that ca after you? Weren’t they blessed by her?"

He nodded. "Yes, but just because they got her blessing doesn’t an they have permission to use my blade. You see, this blade was crafted by the goddess herself, and she truly treasures it. Technically, it’s not even my sword, but hers."

"I see. So no one had permission except for you."

"Exactly. But it’s whatever. She also said that if soone is truly worthy, the sword will accept the wielder. Guess that’s you. Now that you’ve pulled the sword, everything in this room belongs to you. My souvenirs, my wealth, and the sword. To use its power, you’ll have to get it awakened from Gracia, though."

Kai’s face bead. "Sweat. Thanks man. I guess you can rest easy now or whatever."

"Oh, no. I’m dead already. This is just a projection of my spirit that I had lingered here. I’ve already passed on to my next life. Now, I’ll finally be whole again. Peace out, fam."

The golden spirit vanished, and the entire cave started shaking.

On the outside, everyone started panicking, wondering why the mountain started shaking all of a sudden. A super bright beam of golden light shot up into the sky that could be seen from all over the kingdom.

"What the hell did that bastard do in there?!" A man yelled

"I bet he got pissed off that he couldn’t pull the sword so he started trashing the place."

"Ha! I hope that’s the case. It’s been a while since we’ve seen soone break the rules over here. Those guards are going to beat his ass!"

"Do you think that guy pulled the sword?"

"Ha, not a chance!"

"No shot!"

Gwen, Tyria, and Annabeth were all worried. They didn’t believe that Kai would get upset over sothing like this and believed that sothing else was going on. They were worried about his safety.

"Hey, pal! Your ti is up! Get out with your hands up! Don’t make us go in there! You’re already on thin ice!" A guard yelled.

But instead of a raging person exiting the cave as they expected, Kai walked out with the hero’s sword in his hand.

"So, uh. What do I do with this thing?" He asked the guards.

Everyone paused, their jaws dropping to the ground as they stared at Kai in utter disbelief.

Tyria’s eyes sparkled with excitent, and the two n who made a bet couldn’t help but faint.

"Y-Y-Y-Y-You pulled the sword?" A guard asked

"Yeah," Kai responded.

"H-How?!" The other one questioned

Kai shrugged. "I just walked over to the sword, picked it up, then the hero talked to a bit, then he left, and the cave started shaking. That’s it. Oh, he told I’ll have to et with the goddess Gracia to awaken her power, but I don’t know how to do that."

"C-Can I see if the sword is real? No offense, but we’ve seen people fake taking the sword." The guard explained.

"Sure." Kai tossed the man the sword, and when he caught it, his entire body was flooded with divine energy.

"AGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

"Holy shit!" Kai quickly grabbed the sword before the man died, placing it back in its sheath.

"Hey, hey, bro, are you okay?" He healed the guard to make sure he didn’t die.

"I-It’s real! He pulled the sword. H-He’s the new hero! Holy shit he’s the new fucking hero!"

"Woahhh!"

"Yeahhhh!"

"New Hero!"

"New Hero!"

"New Hero!"

Kai didn’t pay any attention to everyone going crazy and asked the other guard a question. "So, how do I et the goddess?"

"H-Huh? Oh! You’ll have to travel to Qasyran City. That’s where the church of Gracia is located, and it’s also where the top graduates of the Hero Academy go to get blessed by the goddess."

"Quasyran City, huh? That’s right before the Capital Vaudrille, right?" Although Kai could see its location on his holo map from his status window, he still asked because why not?

"That’s right. There, you’ll be able to et with the goddess. I’m sure that golden light was a sign that the sword had been claid and a new hero had erged. So expect a warm welco. They might even send people to escort you there." The guard explained.

"I see. Anyway, thank you for your help. I’ll be off now."

"W-Wait!"

Kai turned around.

"S-Since you’re the hero now, you can claim the souvenirs and wealth that were left behind in the tomb. Oh, and what’s your na?"

"I already did. Thanks for letting know, though. As for my na? It’s Kai, Kai LuForia." Kai turned around one more, and walked away.

He motioned for his friends to follow him, which they did, but people started crowding around him, asking for ways to contact him, trying to join his party, won offering their bodies to him, and begging to bear his children.

Being slightly annoyed, Kai teleported the four of them back into their rooms at the inn they were staying at.

"Holy shit! You pulled the sword!" Tyria couldn’t believe her eyes. The hero’s sword was right in her line of sight, and a person she knew wielded it.

"Wait! This ans you’re the new hero! OH MY GOSH!" She fainted.
