The party lasted two hours longer than it should have, since people were trying their best to have conversations with Kai and wanted to do business with Elyn. He bore with it, knowing that he wouldn’t have to deal with them for long.
Eventually, the banquet ca to an end, and everybody went on their rry way.
"Kai!" Elyn nearly slamd into Kai with how fast she ran toward him. She frabbed his shirt collar and pulled him down to her height level.
"Uhh, yeah?"
"Why didn’t you tell you were a hero and that you’re from another continent? No wonder your accent is so different from ours! You’re not even from this continent!" She wasn’t upset or anything, far from it. She was excited.
It wasn’t every day that you got to see a person from another continent who is also the hero of their land. Kai was living proof that the outside world existed.
"Because I didn’t want people to know. I like to keep to myself and not stick out unless I decide to stick out, of course."
"But you’re from another continent! People believed that the outside world was just a myth, or at least was destroyed, and we’re the last remaining civilization!" Elyn wanted to learn more about where Kai had co from. Not for research, but because she was just curious.
"That makes sense. And I can confirm that there are 6 continents with people living on them."
"S-Six continents?! Have you been to them all?" She wanted to hear his stories.
"Not yet. Eridani was my first stop since it was the closest continent. But the goddesses, mine and yours, confird that there are other continents out there with civilizations similar to our own."
"C-Can you tell stories about your holand? Oh! And about traveling through the open ocean? Our records say that the open ocean is full of monsters and chaos."
"Oh yeah." Kai sat her down. "The open ocean is definitely chaotic, alright. It’s literally one massive, never-ending storm with tons of sea monsters that try to destroy your ship. It took us ten days just to arrive here because of the monster attacks and the waves constantly shifting our course."
"Was it scary?" At this point, Elyn was all over Kai’s body, not that he minded
"It was more creepy than scary. Constant darkness, weird, ugly creatures, and you couldn’t even see anything in the ocean because of how dark it was. Don’t get started on this one sea serpent I spotted on the ocean floor. It was the size of a fucking mountain range, guarding a city of humans who sohow adapted to live on the ocean floor. Keep in mind, this is still the open ocean."
"Amazing! And your holand, what’s it like?"
"I’ll just show you."
"Really?!"
He leaned in close, kissing her lips. "Another ti."
"Bastard."
"Hahaha!" Kai stood up and went to find a place to sleep. Even though he didn’t get tired, he was drained from talking to all those people today.
---
"Alright, team! It’s ti to hit the road! Let’s take on so jobs and increase our rank! Are you ready?!"
"Kai, it’s early in the morning. Please quiet down." Gwen rubbed her sleepy eyes, trying to adjust to the light of the room.
"No can do. It’s ti to start working! Look at Kyana, she’s ready to go right now! She’s even ditating while she waits on us."
They all looked at Kyana, who was fully dressed, standing up with her eyes closed.
"Actually, I think she’s sleeping." Nadya pointed out
"What? Does she sleep standing up or sothing?" Kai had never seen Kyana sleep standing before.
"Sotis. Usually, when you aren’t ho, she just stands like that. Otherwise, we’re all in bed with you."
"Insane."
"I’m ready!" Amaya jumped on Kai’s back
"Haha. That’s what I like to hear! I can always count on you, Amaya."
"Hehe."
"You can stay a few more days if you like." Elyn walked up to them alongside Abigail. They were thankful for everything Kai and his girls did for them over these past few days and knew that the Blue Tower would recover thanks to them.
"Thanks, but we’re fine. We’ll be back to visit, though." Kai waved them off and left the tower with his group.
Since this island was a main hub of activity, there was a rcenary guild here. There was also an Adventurers and Hunters guild here, but they didn’t need to go to them.
Word already spread about the six of them and how they saved the blue tower, joined it, and how Kai was working with their goddess. It wasn’t known that he was from another continent, but that information would be released soti soon.
"Look. It’s them!"
"Oh my gosh!"
"D-Do you think I can get his autograph?"
Kai walked over to the job board and started searching.
"Okay, team, what do we want to do?" He asked
"Not an escorting job since we just did one." Gwen spoke up.
Amay’s eyes lit up as she pulled a piece of paper from the board. "How bout an assassination?!"
"That doesn’t sound too bad." Kai kept the paper.
"What about this one. It says that the client is looking for so type of treasure." Sasha pointed at a paper on the top of the board.
"A treasure hunt? That seems cool as well. Especially if we run into people who are also looking for the treasure."
"What about this one? It wants us to follow a person and find out where they are going. The pay is really good as well." Kyana handed Kai the paper.
He looked at it, read over everything, and nodded. The pay was good, and they would be like spies. Kai thought spies were cool.
"Okay, here’s the plan. We’ll take this job Kyana picked. After that, we’ll take on a treasure hunting job, then an assassination job." Kai turned to Nadya.
"Anything you want to do?" He asked.
She shook her head. "I’m fine with whatever you pick."
He nodded. "Alright. Let’s do those then. After that, we’ll only take jobs while traveling to the hero so we can et up with him. Sounds good?"
"Yup."
"Can’t wait."
"I’m on board."
"That’s cool."
"I’m okay with that."
"Great. Let’s get started!"
