When Kai opened his eyes, he noticed that he was in a completely different space. His body didn’t feel the sa, as in he couldn’t feel it at all. It reminded him of when he spoke to Leo when he died.
However, instead of a white void, Kai was in what looked to be paradise. He looked to be in a beautiful valley that stretched as far as the eye could see. A rainbow stretched across the sky with birds flying in the air. Lakes added another beautiful ecosystem to the place, and there was a large castle made of gold that sat in the middle of everything.
To make things better, all of that sat on top of what looked to be clouds.
"Am I in heaven?" Kai wondered as he started to walk around.
"Close. You’re in my divine realm." A voice spoke, and a beautiful woman appeared out of thin air. She had fair skin, pointed eyes, white eyes, and brown hair.
"You must be Gracia." Kai assud.
"Indeed. It’s finally nice to et you, Hero Kai LuForia."
Kai cringed internally, not liking the way his na sounded when ’Hero’ was placed in front of it.
"What did you wish to talk about?" He asked, wanting to get this over with as soon as possible.
Gracia smiled. "Walk with ." She started floating instead.
’Bitch.’
"The sword you pulled belonged to the first hero in history. With his and my strength, he was able to defeat the demon king and send him back to the demon world."
"So he didn’t die?" Kai asked
"Demon Kings are a natural force of the world. They cannot die. Where there is order, there is chaos. We cannot truly die, but this doesn’t an we will let them do what they want."
"So, because the demon kings harm the people you protect, you guys fight?"
She nodded. "Correct. It is an endless cycle. Normally, it would be us gods facing off against the demon kings; however, every ti we did, we would end up destroying the world. So, we changed things up. Gods would imbue a mortal with our power, and the demon kings will take on a weaker form when invading the mortal world."
"Sounds like bullshit."
"It takes a bit to get used to. This is the burden we have to bear, gods and heroes."
"What if I don’t wish to bear this burden. I didn’t even want to pull out the sword. I just did it as a joke."
"Seriously?" Gracia turned toward Kai with a confused expression on her face. "You don’t wish to be a hero?"
"A hero for you? Fuck no. A hero for myself, maybe."
"W-What’s wrong with ?" She didn’t understand how a human could pass up such an opportunity. Anyone would kill to be in his shoes.
"You have your own problem, but instead of acting like adults, you send mortals to fight your battles and watch them die. Like what the fuck? That’s how you govern the world? If so, then you’re a shitty god. Chaos and Order can exist in harmony; they don’t always need to be against each other."
"Y-You! You don’t know what you’re talking about." Now Kai was starting to get on her nerves. While she respected mortals, she wouldn’t take such disrespect from them.
"Really, now? Tell , what did I say that was false? And don’t try to find a loophole."
She couldn’t answer. It was true. Chaos and Order could exist in harmony. When the world faces threats from beyond the stars, the gods and demons team up to protect their planet, so Kai was definitely on to sothing.
"Look at you, frozen. So tell , why the fuck should I work for you?"
"Y-You will beco famous, earn money, live an easy life!" She argued
"I’m doing that shit right now WITHOUT being the hero. Try again."
"You will gain lots of power!"
He scoffed. "I can take on a demon king right now and easily kill them. Next."
"Y-YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY WON AS YOU DESIRE!" She hated the fact that she had to say those words, but at the end of the day, it was true, and she couldn’t deny humans and their pleasures.
"I have fifteen won already, and most of them are pregnant. I also have over 100 maids who I fuck on the daily. Do you see my looks? I’m not lacking when it cos to getting pussy. Try again."
Gracia didn’t know what to say anymore. She was utterly defeated.
’Dammit! I won’t accept defeat!’
"If you beco the hero and get blessed by , I-I’ll beco your woman!" Although she said that, it was a complete lie. As a goddess, she was on a completely different level from a mortal. Also, when Kai accepts her power, she will be able to control him. Not mind control or the ability to take over his free will, but basically force him to slay demons and monsters.
"Hmmm. Can you get pregnant?" He asked, now interested.
"I-I can."
"Then we have a deal."
’Mother fucker!’ She cursed in her head, biting her lip in frustration.
"Co, let inject you with my power."
Kai flinched. "You’re not sticking anything inside , are you? I don’t fuck with that shit."
"Huh? All I will be doing is touching your head and letting my power flow through you."
He smirked, leaning forward with a smug look on his face. "Which head are we talking about?"
Gracia looked confused. "The one connected to your neck. Do you have two heads?"
He sighed. "Never mind. Do your thing."
She placed her hand on his head, channeled her power into her palm, and let it flow through his body. This was second nature to her at this point since she had been doing it for countless heroes.
She knew exactly how Kai would feel and how much stronger he would beco. But there was sothing different about Kai that threw everything off course.
’W-What’s going on?’ Gracia thought to herself. ’My power, it’s being rejected by him! How is this possible?’
There had been many heroes before Kai, one even appearing not too long ago, and none of them rejected her power. No, they couldn’t reject her power even if they wanted to.
As a higher-level being, Gracia had certain authorities that mortals did not, so even if a mortal didn’t wish to have her power, she could still force it on them. Not that she would.
However, here, with Kai, it was as if he were a higher level of existence than she was!
’This doesn’t make any sense!’
To find the cause of this, she peered into Kai’s mind, trying to locate the source, and when she did, she scread in terror.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
