Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Offering Myself? Actually… Not Bad
She refused to believe that in Ya Molian’s heart, she, a delicate beauty, would be considered inferior to Lin Caisang, who was as fat as a pig. Wasn’t it just that she was a little lucky? Wasn’t that title only given to her by the ignorant folks in the village? She refused to believe it!
“Get out, never let
see you again!” Ya Molian would never be kindly to such a woman.
Ya Nian’er stomped her foot in place, then turned around, her face hidden in her hands as she walked away. Ms. Jin of Ya Family, Ya Sui’er, and Ya Pozhu also briskly followed suit, throwing a glare at the people from the Lin family as they left.
It was all these people who interfered, or else their plan would have succeeded.
Soon, the courtyard was emptied of onlookers, none of whom noticed Lin Laogeng, who hadn’t made a sound in the corner. Had they noticed him, they would have surely found him an even greater spectacle.
“San… Sang?”
Behind Ya Molian, Lin Caisang was speechless, staring at the clear blue sky, murmuring the na that a neighbor had coined for her. Sang? When did she get such a nickna?
“I might as well be called Little Apricot or Little Plum!” She muttered with a pout.
“Are you okay?”
Ya Molian turned around to look at Lin Caisang.
“Huh.”
Lin Caisang imdiately recovered her composure, giving him a solemn look.
“What could possibly be wrong with ?”
What could possibly happen to her? How could Ms. Jin of Ya Family harm her? She was just a woman who could only make a fuss about everything. Was she supposed to be afraid of her?
“Brother Molian, who would have thought that your savior would be Caisang? This really is destiny. Well, Caisang, Ya Hai’s family is keen on marrying off Brother Molian. You’re not. So, would you … like Brother Molian to offer his hand in marriage?”
At this point, another person jumped out and teased Lin Caisang.
“Brother Enxi, why don’t you have Brother Molian marry you instead?” Lin Caisang shot him a pointed look and walked over to Grandpa.
“Offer his hand in marriage?”
Ya Molian, however, felt sothing curious about this phrase, his deep gaze fixed on Lin Caisang’s back.
“This… Brother Molian, I was just joking. Don’t take it seriously.” Ya Enxi hastily explained with a laugh.
Brother Molian had notoriously high standards. He wouldn’t even give a second glance to soone as beautiful as Ya Nian’er. How could he possibly be interested in a chubby girl like Lin Caisang? It was his own fault for making such a rash remark.
“Actually… it’s not bad.” Ya Molian quietly muttered to himself.
“What? Brother Molian, what did you say? Not bad?” Ya Enxi couldn’t understand his words and asked.
Not bad, could Brother Molian be saying that offering his hand in marriage wouldn’t be too bad?
Thinking of the possibility, Ya Enxi beca utterly shocked. Could Brother Molian actually be interested in Lin Caisang, a girl who was chubby and only thirteen years old?
“Molian… Brother Molian…”
He wanted to confirm, but in the blink of an eye, Ya Molian had already walked towards Lin Laogeng.
“Brother Molian, wait… Hold on, isn’t that Grandpa Lin? What’s he doing here joining in on the commotion?”
Ya Enxi halted his steps, looking at Lin Laogeng.
The once robust Lin Laogeng in his mories was now so thin that only skin covered his bones. It must be because he rarely saw sunlight anymore; he looked pitiful.
“Grandpa Lin, why did you co over here?” He approached Lin Laogeng and asked.
“I heard there was so commotion over here, so I ca to take a look. As long as Molian is alright.” Lin Laogeng explained, then watched Ya Molian with a friendly smile. Since his leg beca crippled, he hadn’t seen much of Ya Molian, who looked much stronger than before.
