Nanny Bai’s face paled.
“Impossible. Lady Doctor, I personally watched as the Mansion’s doctor prepared this dicine in the pharmacy, and personally boiled it. No one else has touched it—it can’t be wrong.”
Even after leaving the kitchen, she had assigned her two most trusted maids to guard it. How could anyone have possibly tampered with the dicine?
