"What’s going on here? This isn’t one of our guests."
A waiter ca out, staring at the man clutching his chest and slowly staggering to his feet on the ground.
As a waiter in the inn, he was thoroughly familiar with the guests staying there and what they looked like. This man was definitely not one of them.
"Who are you?" He stepped forward imdiately and asked.
But the mont he approached, the man pulled out a dagger and pressed it against the waiter’s neck.
"Ah!"
The guests scread in unison at the sight.
At this mont, Lin Caisang descended gracefully from upstairs, landing a short distance away from the man and the waiter.
"Don’t co any closer! If you co closer, I’ll kill him right now."
Seeing her, the man was visibly flustered. The dagger at the waiter’s throat trembled and nearly slit his neck.
"Oh, threatening
now?" Lin Caisang chuckled lightly.
"After killing so many alchemists, do you really think you can escape today?"
She maintained a calm smile, her tone chillingly cold as she addressed the man.
"Don’t co closer! I’ll really kill him!"
The man grew even more panicked at Lin Caisang’s calm deanor, clearly sensing that she wasn’t taking him seriously.
"You know what I’m capable of. This dagger is coated with poison—one cut to his throat, and not even the gods can save him. Then it’ll be on you; it’ll be your fault he dies!"
He roared at Lin Caisang.
Lin Caisang: "..."
She truly had never encountered soone like this before.
His dagger was clearly at the waiter’s neck, yet he sohow managed to twist the bla to her. What kind of logic was this?
"Is he the one who’s been killing all those alchemists in the city lately?"
"It’s really him! How despicable, murdering so many people and now coming into the inn to murder again!"
"Thank goodness this young lady is skilled enough to survive his attack and even kick him down. Otherwise, we’d have no idea when such a dangerous man had snuck into the inn!"
The crowd, hearing the man’s words, erupted into murmurs and pointed fingers at him.
This man had killed so many people. It used to be on the streets, but now he’d escalated to committing murder inside an inn.
This was a blatant challenge to the authority of Sky City. Would the city lord let him off?
"Soone like him deserves a death by a thousand cuts. He can’t be let off so easily."
"Now he’s even taking hostages to threaten his way out. Hmph! Think he can escape? Not a chance. What does he take us for? Air?"
"If you surrender now, you might stand a chance. Otherwise, you’ll never make it out of this door in your life."
"Shut up, all of you! Do you believe I’ll kill him right now?!" The man shouted back furiously, his voice cracking from rage.
Even if he let the man in his grip go, would they allow him to leave? The answer was obvious—absolutely not. These people were no more rciful than the woman in front of him. They all wanted him dead!
"One more word, and I’ll kill him right here!"
"No! Please, help , soone, save !"
The waiter was just an ordinary man with no spiritual abilities. Getting hired at this inn had already been a stroke of lifeti luck for him.
Now, taken hostage, he could only think one thing—he might as well die.
