Chapter 2277: Chapter 2277: Have to Keep
Hearing his shout, Prince Niu, who had already turned his back to him, slightly curled the corner of his lips, revealing a mocking smile.
He turned around, concealing the smile on his face, and looked toward Yin Lvqing.
“Speak.” He said.
“I…”
Yin Lvqing opened his mouth. Heaven knows, he absolutely did not want to say anything about Sui Zimo.
That was a weapon—a sharp blade capable of destroying the Illusion Continent effortlessly.
He wanted to be the sole person in control of this secret. If no one else knew about it, then he could make use of Sui Zimo.
But upon reflection, that was an impossible feat.
Even if he didn’t tell Prince Niu, the person behind him wouldn’t allow him to monopolize Sui Zimo. He couldn’t fight against that person, nor could he deceive that person to keep Sui Zimo by his side.
Moreover, in his current state, Sui Zimo could crush him with just one finger.
How could he possibly make Sui Zimo stay obediently by his side?
“Don’t want to talk?”
Prince Niu glanced at him and could tell that he hadn’t even co up with an answer. He was rely trying to find an excuse to distance himself from Sui Zimo.
“Or did you take
for a fool, thinking you can brush
off with any random excuse, hmm?” he asked.
“No, no.”
Hearing his words, Prince Niu felt a wave of guilt in his heart.
He had indeed wanted to find so random excuse to fool Prince Niu, but before he could co up with a suitable reason, his words had already been cut off by the man standing before him.
“Fifth Brother, truly, I genuinely don’t know what Sui Zimo’s background is. Soone just placed him in my care, telling
to raise him properly.”
“They also told
to find a secluded place, ideally where no one on the Illusion Continent would discover him.”
“Heh.”
Prince Niu let out a cold laugh.
“Yin Lvqing, do you think anyone but yourself would believe such a story?”
“It’s true, Fifth Brother! Everything I’ve said is true!” Yin Lvqing exclaid anxiously upon seeing that he wasn’t believed.
Even if he did know Sui Zimo’s origins, he could never tell anyone. If he revealed it, the person behind him would tear him apart—literally.
He couldn’t afford to take such a risk.
So, he could only co up with whatever words necessary to brush the matter aside.
“How could I possibly know Sui Zimo’s background? Sui Zimo was indeed placed by soone into my care—you have to believe , truly believe .”
“Hahaha. Who would’ve thought? You, the dignified Eighth Prince of Ziyan Kingdom, have been reduced to the point of raising soone else’s child without even knowing why?”
Prince Niu questioned mockingly.
“I…”
Yin Lvqing was rendered speechless by the remark.
Yes, of course, he wouldn’t naively raise soone else’s child without knowing the reason.
But who exactly was Sui Zimo? Raising Sui Zimo brought him only benefits and no disadvantages—why wouldn’t he seize that opportunity?
That was true… in the past. Now, he couldn’t even touch Sui Zimo anymore.
He hated it. If only he had known, he would’ve kept Sui Zimo in a place he could completely control. Yet he had raised Sui Zimo in the wilderness—such idiocy, utter idiocy!
“Fifth Brother, the child delivered to
by that person—I had no choice but to take care of him.”
“Very well.”
Prince Niu was no longer interested in discussing Sui Zimo’s origins with him.
He knew Yin Lvqing wouldn’t say anything.
“Since you don’t want to talk about that, let’s discuss the person behind you—who exactly are they?”
“What?!”
Yin Lvqing’s eyes instantly widened in shock.
It was as if he couldn’t believe that Prince Niu would bring up the person behind him.
