Chapter 1298: Chapter 1298: Gone Missing

“Enough! You’ll speak no more!”

Upon seeing he was about to speak again, the Empress Dowager chided him once more before turning her head to look at the nanny, signaling her to continue.

“As for Prince Yi’s Mansion, it was not that Prince Yi insisted on taking the person in. It was the National Teacher who took advantage of Prince Yi being unprepared and pushed the person through the crack of the mansion’s door, then hurriedly left. Prince Yi had no chance to react at all.”

“This Suyang, he’s truly becoming more capable!”

The Empress Dowager huffed coldly, gritting her teeth.

At this mont, the Emperor wished he could tear soone into pieces. Such a wise ruler, and yet he had been thwarted by Sui Zimo and Suyang—how could he accept this?

“Your Majesty, what should we do next?”

With the Empress Dowager present, he did not dare to suggest anything on his own, fearful of being overruled by the nanny. He could only turn his head and ask her.

“Is it not easy to handle?”

The Empress Dowager turned her gaze towards him, with a faint smile.

“Tomorrow morning, have Prince Yi bring that fake one and go demand the person from the National Teacher’s residence. If Suyang is not afraid of losing face, are you afraid of bringing sha to Prince Yi’s Mansion?”

“This… we can only do so,”

The Emperor clenched his jaw, reluctantly nodding.

Yet, how could Prince Yi bow to Suyang, that opportunist? He couldn’t get over it. After all, despite Prince Yi’s decline in favor, he was still a Sui, a royal family mber. Who was Suyang to compare? Why should royals bow to him?

But at this mont, it wasn’t the ti to dwell on these issues. First, they needed to take the person back, and then he could properly deal with Sui Zimo and Suyang!

“Your Majesty, it’s late. I shall not linger in the Imperial Study. Rember to keep a close watch on tomorrow’s matter, don’t ss it up again, understood?”

She gave the Emperor a aningful look as she instructed him.

The Emperor’s complexion darkened at her words, much worse than before.

He thought about the eunuch he sent to Prince Yi’s Mansion with gifts and the disgrace of having the task botched, a source of mockery that infuriated him imnsely!

“Mother, rest assured, your son understands,”

He replied, then accompanied the Empress Dowager to the outside of the Imperial Study.

“Summon soone.”

It was after the Empress Dowager had left that he called for Eunuch Gui to co in and prepare to instruct soone to go to Prince Yi’s Mansion to explain the situation clearly.

Unfortunately, before he could speak, he saw Eunuch Gui approaching with an extrely ugly expression on his face.

“Your Majesty, sothing has happened.”

“What else now?”

The Emperor furrowed his brow in displeasure and asked.

Recently, why were there so many issues? Ever since Sui Zimo returned, the palace has faced nothing but trouble!

“Which concubine is it this ti? Or is it from the Central Palace? Such matters can be left to the Empress Dowager; why must they always be brought to ? It’s utterly preposterous!”

“Your Majesty, it’s not about the harem.”

Eunuch Gui lifted his gaze and looked at the Emperor, his voice low and subdued.

“Just now, a ssenger from Prince Yi’s Mansion reported that the ‘Fifth Young Master’ sent by the National Teacher has disappeared within the mansion.”

“What?!”

Upon hearing this, the Emperor felt as if struck by a bolt from the blue, so much so that he could barely stand.

“Say that again. Who has disappeared?”

He reached out, grabbed Eunuch Gui’s collar, and pulled him closer, his eyes wide with shock as he interrogated.

He must have heard wrong. How could the fake one disappear? No matter what, the imposter was just a little child, and with so many people in Prince Yi’s Mansion, how could they not keep an eye on a small kid?
