Chapter 4: Skill And Talent

“What the hell is this?!” Leric exclaid, but he hurriedly covered his mouth after realizing his sudden outburst. He then blinked his eyes many tis, but he could still see the rows of texts in front of him even with his eyes closed.

Skill [Observation] Level 1

– You are able to identify objects with a re touch.

Talent [Botanist] Level 1

– You have a fundantal level of understanding of plants and herbs. Able to decipher the uses of plants and herbs upon careful scrutiny.

Talent [Doctor] Level 1

– You are capable of identifying simple illnesses. You are also able to cure light injuries.

Talent [Esper] Level 1

– As a heaven blessed individual, you are gifted with the ability to control the energy of the world. Your comprehension speed is also better compared to other Espers.

After reading the words in front of him, Leric furrowed his eyebrows. He was a bit surprised about this sudden developnt, but he soon cald down.

“Book of Rebirth? Is it talking about the old book? Hm, it looks like this new life of mine will be interesting...” Leric had the ntal age of an old man, so he was able to easily adapt to this surprising event. Although he was still feeling perplexed and confused about it, he decided to study this with interest.

After reading and looking at the rows of texts in front of him, Leric finally had a bit of understanding and realization about it. For example, the skill [Observation], his guess was that he got this skill after reading all the books in their house. As for the talents; [Botanist], and [Doctor], it should be because of his research in his past life. After all, he had spent all his years studying herbs and plants. He also studied the human body during his free ti. However, what made him confused was the last talent [Esper].

“It might be related to the Book of Rebirth... So I have the talent to beco an esper, huh? Unfortunately, I don’t plan to beco the strongest in the world. I only want to enjoy this new life of mine. Hehehe.” Leric chuckled to himself. He then stood up and patted his butt clean.

“How do I remove these rows of texts? Oh...” The mont Leric thought of removing the images in front of him, it magically vanished. He tried experinting a few more tis and he now knew how to control it.

“If I want to see the screen, it imdiately appears and it also vanishes if I want it to. This makes it less troubleso.” Leric nodded his head contentedly.

“I’m ho!” Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted Leric’s thoughts. After hearing that loud voice, he knew that his father has arrived from work. At this mont, Leric’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“Hm, let check if my parents will be able to see these texts.” He muttered as he scurried out of his room.

After going out of his room, he saw the tall and broad figure of his father. His clothes seed to be in tatters, but it failed to destroy his strong image.

The eyes of this man abruptly lit up the mont he saw the small figure running in his direction. “Oh! Isn’t this my little Leric? Co! Let your father give you a hug! Hahaha!” He laughed joyously as he lifted his son.

“Dear, don’t hold him for too long. Your clothes are still dirty. Our son’s skin might be infected if he cos into contact with you for too long. Go wash up first.” Leric’s mother ca out from the kitchen and took Leric from his father’s arms. She glanced at her husband with a hint of worry when she saw the state of his clothes.

Leric’s father grinned when he saw his wife’s expression. He then stole a kiss from her before he swiftly left to the washroom.

Seeing his running figure, Leric’s mother shook her head with a smile. She then sat down and glanced at her son with an affectionate look. “Son, is there anything wrong?” She asked when she saw the weird expression of Leric.

Leric shook his head. He then called the system interface in his mind and it imdiately appeared in front of him. “Mom, do you see sothing in my face?” He asked as he looked at his mother.

Leric’s mother glanced at her son and sweetly smiled. “Yes, I see a very handso little boy!” She then kissed his cheeks, making Leric blush.

‘It looks like only I can see it, but this is also good. In this way, I have no need to explain anything to them.’ He muttered to himself after learning that his mother failed to see the texts in front of him.

Not long later, Leric’s father ca out of the washroom. He was now wearing a new set of clothes. “Dear, let hold our son for a bit.” He said with a wide smile on his face.

Leric’s mother handed Leric to her husband and went back to the kitchen as she said. “Bring our son to the dining room. The chicken soup I’m cooking is almost done.”

“Yes, dear.”
