Chapter 862: 424 Abyss_2

As she left the cake shop, a black sedan drove by with the window half open, revealing a man’s handso face as it passed.

Vanessa Aria felt her entire body go cold and dropped her cake on the ground, hastily scrambling into a taxi.

“Drive, go quickly.”

The driver, who was watching videos, jumped, “What’s wrong?”

Vanessa Aria felt her forehead pound as she demanded, “Drive now.”

The driver started the car, while he heard the woman growl from the back, “Turn around.”

...

Her voice was laced with imasurable panic and anxiety, as if she had seen sothing terrifying.

The taxi driver was about to turn around when she suddenly commanded, “No, follow the black car in front. Keep up with it.”

The driver’s eyes widened, “But that’s a special licence plate…”.

Before he could finish, a wad of Chinese Yuan bills were thrown at him, scattering like blossoms from the sky.

The driver imdiately perked up; foot on the pedal, he said, “Hold tight.”

Vanessa Aria, clenching the seat with her well-manicured nails, kept her eyes on the black sedan in front.

The other car kept a steady pace and her seasoned taxi driver was discreet enough not to alert them.

Eventually, the car pulled up at an exclusive entertainnt center, where non-VIP custors were not allowed in.

Vanessa Aria hesitated, got out of the taxi, and prepared to sneak in through the front door.

Understanding that her actions were dangerous, she should have turned back. The abyss awaited her, but she felt compelled to continue.

Madam had summoned Night Hawk many tis, but he had always found an excuse to decline. As soon as Madam left Pethkids, he showed up in Pethkids.

A woman’s sixth sense made her suspect Night Hawk’s role in Madam’s plan’s failure.

If she could catch him at his own ga… As Vanessa’s chest tightened, she would no longer need to fear Night Hawk.

A young man approached, several of his male peers following behind him. Each of them except him was accompanied by a girl.

Vanessa Aria, seizing the opportunity, pretended to limp. Dressed in a red dress, she drew all their attention.

Her charade worked, effectively attracting their notice.

Eric Moore spotted the woman’s figure, and his eyes glazed over montarily as if he was reminded of sothing.

He quickly composed himself and approached her, asking, “Miss, are you alright?”

“I twisted my ankle, it hurts…” Her soft voice was srizing, and her fragile body fell into Eric’s arms.

Eric instinctively caught her, a subtle fragrance lingering in his nose, disorienting him slightly.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t an to.” The woman quickly stepped back, almost tumbling again.

Eric quickly steadied her, laughing lightly, “Even if you did it on purpose, it’s okay.”

Vanessa Aria wrinkled her eyebrows in embarrassnt, “What kind of person do you think I am?”

Eric laughed, his gaze lingering on her attractive face, an interest shimring in his eyes.

“Just kidding, please don’t mind,” he said.

Vanessa huffed lightly, a bewitching sound that made the n behind them chuckle. “Eric, you’re here alone tonight. This is fate, man, take her company!” they said.

Eric extended his hand like a gentleman, and grinned, “Would you care to join for the evening, miss?”

Vanessa Aria hesitated, seemingly struggling. She looked at his handso face, and finally made a decision.

“I have a boyfriend.”

The mood shifted instantly at her words.

Eric’s face turned solemn.

“But my boyfriend sneaked out here behind my back. I secretly followed him and saw him enter with another woman just now. I trusted him so much… Ignored my mom’s advice and chose to be with him, and this is how he treats !”

She teared up as she spoke, her poignancy pulling at their heartstrings.

Eric raised an eyebrow, “I see. Don’t cry, I’ll take you inside now. The jerk deserves a lesson.”

The woman wiped her tears, “Thank you.”

Eric lifted his arm, to which Vanessa hesitated briefly before hooking hers, agreeing to his offer.

The mont she turned away, unseen by him, her mouth was set in a subtle smirk. Her captivating eyes, as if washed over by water, flashed with fleeting triumph.
