Chapter 828: 413 Counterattack_1

The man quietly sat under the light, a book in his hands.

Seeing no reaction from the man, Ahd Hayley grew impatient with the insolence of this prisoner.

Hayley rapped on the table, demanding, “Did you not hear ?”

The man finally set down his book. Hayley glanced at its serious black cover, upon which were printed three golden letters: “Capital”.

For so reason, Hayley found himself subconsciously short of breath, and the small cell suddenly felt claustrophobic.

Hayley fled in a panic.

Agave Rinto pursed his lips and seated himself at the dining table.

He was too tall for the small table, making it appear even smaller. Even seated at this claustrophobic table in his jail cell, he still maintained the deanor of a gentleman.

This scene was being transmitted to a larger screen monitor, for others to see.

Madon Linggo sat with his legs propped on the desk, sniffing a cigarette while ignoring the insistent ring of his cellphone.

Connie braved a reminder, “Madon, your cell phone has been ringing.”

The phone had rung many tis, yet Madon didn’t seem to acknowledge it, remaining seated in calm.

“Capitalists are the craftiest creatures, proficient in biding their ti, cunningly preying upon human weaknesses to exploit and advance their interests,” he muttered.

The Green Dragon Association was born into a unique period, with Pindo Rinto’s ambition and desires snowballing the organization’s influence. However, its outdated model eventually fell out of step with societal advancent, dood to be obsoleted.

Following Pindo Rinto’s death, the association teetered on the brink of collapse after a series of internal strife.

Agave Rinto’s return was a wildcard, as well as an opportunity for rebirth.

He capitalized on the legacy of the Green Dragon Association to consolidate influence in a short term. Even as an emaciated cal is still larger than a horse, he discovered that this thod of organization far surpassed traditional family businesses in its capacity to unite people. As the association gradually regained its strength, Agave quietly undermined the Green Dragon’s influence.

There’s no denying, he was an astute and successfully capitalist.

The reputation of the Green Dragon Association ensured his protection while he focused on legitimate business ventures, providing no wrongdoing that could be held against him.

Perhaps he had foreseen this day, using the façade of the Green Dragon to craft the perfect trap. Truly, a patient hunter.

Just at the brink of the phone’s battery life, Madon finally picked up the call.

“What are you doing? Why won’t you pick up your phone?” a voice angrily demanded from the other end of the line.

“Interrogating the criminal,” Madon replied laconically.

The voice on the other end struggled to process this before fuming, “And? You only have six hours left.”

“Not so well?” Madon rubbed his temple in frustration.

“No matter what, you have to close this case tonight. Madam can’t wait any longer.”

“Redford Parker, it sounds as if you’re making things harder for . Evidence is crucial in any investigation. Hans Parker’s testimony isn’t quite enough. At best, it’s attempted murder. Given the Rinto’s wealth, with a decent lawyer, they won’t even serve any ti.”

“Wait a mont, the evidence will be delivered to you shortly. Until then, ensure you have eyes on him.”

It wasn’t long before Madon received evidence of Agave Rinto’s criminality. From organized cri involvent and briberies to arson and murder, a life sentence seed barely adequate.

Much effort had clearly gone into collecting this evidence, but there remained a number of oversights, perhaps due to rushed ti constraints.

“Black and white are being flipped, truly absurd.”

Connie entered the room, urging, “Madon, you need to look at what’s on the internet.”

Connie flipped open her laptop in front of Madon, scrolling through the pages.

“Sumr International has published its latest financial reports. Starlyn Aria, Seren Jockey Club, Ocean Shipping, Jason Real Estate, and Star Entertainnt are all under its control, and the financial standing of these corporations in the past three years are detailed precisely.”

Even the composed Madon was taken aback, “Sumr International?”

It turned out, the official account of Sumr International had tagged all these corporations in their post before publishing the business accounting details one by one, creating ripples in the comrcial arena and inducing national shock.

The trending topics, after being dominated by Aubree Groove for a day, finally exploded that night.

Sumr International held significant standing in Jinez, as could be inferred from its na. It was a known conscientious company that was held in high regard by the nation.

As a leading enterprise in Jinez that refrained from listing and financing, it maintained a humble and honest profile. Always the first to offer financial aid during national crises, its modus operandi stood in stark contrast to the cutthroat business environnt. It was truly a benevolent corporation that enjoyed an excellent reputation among its people, whose high-quality products, also known as the national pride, had loyal custors worldwide, which in today’s volatile social environnt, was more precious than ever.
