AUTHOR

The private jet terminal was a world of hushed efficiency, a bubble of imnse wealth far from the noise of comrcial travel. Kenji Soma’s black sedan idled on the tarmac beside the stunning, snow-white form of Kenji Araki’s Gulfstream G700.

The morning sun glead on its sleek surface, a symbol of the power and freedom that money could buy.

Kenji Soma stood with his hands in the pockets of his impeccably tailored coat, his icy blue eyes scanning the group one last ti. "The Okubo are as good as gone," he stated, his voice flat and final. It wasn’t a boast; it was a simple report. A problem had been identified and eliminated.

Reon, standing beside him, gave a slow, single nod. The bandage on his temple was a stark white reminder of why they were leaving. "We didn’t doubt it for a second," he said, his voice dry. He felt a grudging respect for Soma’s brutal efficiency, even as he was relieved to be putting Tokyo and its shadows behind them.

Kenji Araki, slinging a carry-on bag over his shoulder, flashed a sharp, knowing grin. "When you say ’gone,’ I assu you don’t an on a long vacation."

Soma’s lips twitched in the ghost of a smile. "Sothing like that." With a final, curt nod, he turned, slid back into his car, and was gone, leaving them to their escape.

Suzu and Paige, eager to be in the safety of the plane, had already climbed the steps and disappeared inside. The two n followed, the pressurized cabin door sealing behind them with a soft, definitive hiss. The world of assassins and clan wars was locked outside.

The interior of the jet was a palace in the sky, all cream leather and polished wood. But the first thing that hit them wasn’t the luxury; it was the conversation.

They walked into the main cabin to find Suzu and Paige already seated. Suzu was leaning forward, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of excitent and shaless gossip. Paige was listening, her earlier haunted look replaced by one of fascinated amazent, a small, incredulous smile on her lips.

"...and I’m not saying it was just the... stamina," Suzu was saying, her voice a conspiratorial whisper that carried in the quiet cabin. "But my God, the man is a virtuoso. It was like he was trying to win a gold dal."

Paige’s eyes widened. "A gold dal for what?"

"For everything!" Suzu laughed, a bright, unburdened sound.

Kenji Araki, hearing this, didn’t miss a beat. A slow, wicked smirk spread across his face as he walked up behind Suzu’s chair. "Are you giving my performance review, my little socialite?" he purred, his voice rich with amusent.

He leaned down, wrapped his arms around her from behind, and planted a soft, possessive kiss on the top of her head. Suzu leaned back into his embrace, her earlier blush returning, but this ti it was mixed with pure, unashad happiness.

From across the aisle, Reon watched, his own expression a blend of exhaustion and dry humor. He shook his head slightly as he took the plush seat next to Paige. "I hope you’re taking notes, Black Cat," he said, his tone laced with his familiar, sarcastic drawl. "I expect a detailed written evaluation on my desk by Monday."

Kenji chuckled, nuzzling Suzu’s hair. "Don’t be jealous, Reo-chan. So of us are just naturally gifted."

Reon didn’t answer with words. Instead, he turned to Paige. The sarcasm faded from his eyes, replaced by a look of profound relief and quiet intensity. He reached out, his fingers gently tilting her chin toward him. He leaned in and captured her lips in a soft, deep kiss. It wasn’t passionate or demanding. It was a kiss of reassurance. A silent promise that they were safe, they were together, and the nightmare was finally over.

As the jet’s engines began their low, powerful whine, ready to carry them back to New York and the final battle awaiting them, the cabin was filled not with fear, but with the simple, solid comfort of being surrounded by the people who would burn the world down for you.

The rest of the flight was a quiet blur of exhaustion and relief. The gentle hum of the jet’s engines was a lullaby, soothing frayed nerves and allowing the adrenaline to finally drain away.

Soon, the familiar skyline of New York appeared through the windows, a concrete jungle that was both their battlefield and their ho.

At the private airport, Kenji Araki slung his bag over his shoulder and turned to Suzu with a lazy, charming smile. "Co on, my little socialite. My car is here. I’ll drive you ho." It was an offer that held the promise of more than just a ride, and the happy blush on Suzu’s face showed she knew it. They disappeared together, leaving the recent violence behind them in a cloud of their own new romance.

Reon’s driver was waiting, a silent, professional figure beside the black rcedes-Maybach. He took their suitcases and placed them carefully in the trunk. The simple, normal action felt strangely significant. They were back. The fight was waiting, but for this mont, they were safe on their own turf.

Reon held the car door open for Paige, his hand a gentle guide on her lower back. As they slid into the familiar, quiet interior, he gave the driver a simple command. "Ho." That single word held so much aning. It wasn’t just his penthouse anymore. It was their sanctuary.

As the car pulled away, Paige’s phone buzzed. She pulled it out, her heart giving a little jump. It was an email from Yamada Fujii. With slightly trembling fingers, she opened it.

Her breath caught in her throat. Attached were the scanned docunts, just as he had promised. The formal paperwork for the transfer of his entire thirty percent stake in Ristone Co. to her. The digital signature was there, clear and final.

Her mind, sharp and trained for finance, did the math instantly. His thirty percent, combined with the reactivation of her original twenty percent inheritance... it added up to fifty. A simple, undeniable majority.

She turned the phone screen toward Reon, her eyes wide with a mixture of triumph and disbelief. "It’s done," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "He transferred it. With my original shares... I have fifty percent. I’m the majority shareholder." She looked at him, the reality of it sinking in. "The next step is the board eting. We vote Shunsuke out."

Reon took the phone, his sharp eyes scanning the docunts. A slow, predatory smile spread across his face, a stark contrast to the gentle kiss he had given her on the plane. This was the smile of a king seeing his enemy’s walls finally crumble.

"I concur," he said, his voice a low, satisfied rumble. He handed the phone back to her. "But it’s even better than that." He leaned back, the picture of cool confidence. "While we were away, I had my team quietly acquire another fifteen percent on the open market. The panic selling made it easy." He let the number hang in the air. "That brings our total to sixty-five percent. They will be utterly shocked to walk into that room and find out the company now belongs to you."

Our total. He said ’our’. He had woven his victory so completely with hers that they were inseparable. Paige felt a surge of power, clean and sharp. This was no longer just her revenge; it was their conquest.

"But first," Reon said, his tone shifting from the boardroom to the bedroom. The intensity in his eyes changed from strategic to hungry. He leaned closer to her, his voice dropping to a husky, sarcastic purr that she felt deep in her bones. "We need to head ho. I’ve been shot at, insulted, and forced to listen to Kenji’s sex life. Now, I want to distract myself with my fiancée. Thoroughly."

Paige’s face, which had been pale with shock and fierce with determination, instantly flooded with a deep, warm red. A blush spread from her cheeks down her neck.

She swatted his arm lightly, but a small, flustered smile played on her lips. Even after everything—the blood, the betrayal, the boardroom coups—he could still make her feel like a blushing schoolgirl with a single, sarcastic remark.

The car sped towards the city, carrying them toward a final battle for an empire, and toward a ho that had beco the center of their tangled, powerful, and passionately complicated world.
