Lu Qingyan, dressed in a neat suit, his handso and mature features held only a trace of cold indifference. His beautiful peach-blossom eyes t Jiang Nanshu’s for three seconds before she guiltily looked away.

Inside, she kept screaming ’Da Shachun’, what on earth was going on!

Was she dreaming, or was this real!

Why had she inexplicably co back.

And yet, Da Shachun was like dead.

Jiang Nanshu licked her dry lips and looked at the ceiling in despair.

"How is her health?" Lu Qingyan’s indifferent voice rose.

"President Lu, your wife’s vital signs have stabilized. She just woke up and might need so ti to recuperate quietly, but there are no major issues."

"Mhm, everyone can leave now."

The doctors then gradually left, thoughtfully closing the door behind them.

Jiang Nanshu turned her head to look out the window. The atmosphere was sowhat awkward, and she didn’t know what expression to face Lu Qingyan with. She even silently wished for this dream to end soon.

Not until her hospital bed was raised and the cold rim of a cup pressed against her lips, the warm steam wafted near.

"Open your mouth," said Lu Qingyan, his voice chilly.

Jiang Nanshu was extrely thirsty—the cup of water was gone after just a few gulps.

Because she had drunk in such a hurry, a line of water traced down her lip, dripping onto the sleeve of her hospital gown.

He reached out to wipe her lip, his voice softening a lot, "Take it slow."

Jiang Nanshu felt a shiver down her spine and instinctively turned her head away.

Seeing Lu Qingyan’s hand freeze in mid-air, Jiang Nanshu cursed inwardly, damn it, too quick!

She hadn’t been touched by anyone in years and was unaccustod to it for a mont.

Lu Qingyan’s eyes grew even more somber and deep, then softened again after a mont, "Do you want more water?"

Jiang Nanshu was sowhat surprised by Lu Qingyan’s change. Wasn’t he said to have turned dark?

It didn’t seem like it.

But she was still very cautious.

Although she thought if they could reunite, all resentnt would be resolved, she hadn’t seen him for so long.

Her feelings towards him were familiar yet carried a faint strangeness.

Jiang Nanshu shook her head to indicate she didn’t want more water.

Lu Qingyan used a tissue to dab at the water that had fallen on her skin. His cool fingertips told Jiang Nanshu that this was not a dream, the person in front of her was real.

As Jiang Nanshu was absent-minded, she felt Lu Qingyan’s large palm gently stroking her slender throat, "You don’t even want to talk to ? Do you really hate that much?"

Jiang Nanshu: "..."

She hadn’t spoken for so long, her voice wouldn’t co out.

She was about to shake her head when she heard Lu Qingyan’s thin lips murmur by her ear, "That’s fine, being mute is good too."

Jiang Nanshu: "..."

Should she speak, or should she not?

A tingling sensation spread from her earlobe, and the scent of sandalwood filled Jiang Nanshu’s nose.

Wait a second... sandalwood scent...

She rembered that Lu Qingyan always had a pleasant scent of cedar. When did it change?

Only when she felt a cold touch on her cheek did Jiang Nanshu look over, seeing a string of Buddha beads on his left wrist.

These Buddha beads... why did they look familiar to her?

Before she could ponder further, noise ca from the door of the ward.

"You, let in!"

This was Jiang Yunchuan’s voice.

Upon hearing it suddenly, Jiang Nanshu even felt a bit nostalgic.

"My sister woke up, why won’t you let see her?"

He reached the door of the hospital room in an instant, but the entrance had long been surrounded by Lu Qingyan’s people. He could only peer through the crack of the door to see the awake Jiang Nanshu, her eyes bright red, struggling even more fiercely: "Move aside, I want to see my sister."

Lu Qingyan turned a deaf ear and gently kissed Jiang Nanshu’s cheek, his voice gentle, "Wife, I’ll take you ho, it’s too noisy here."

Jiang Nanshu didn’t even have the strength to refuse.

He turned his eyes coldly, his icy deanor not at all concealed: "Get him out of here."

"Brother Yan, please, just let see Nannan."

"Get lost."

"Lu Qingyan! Don’t go too far, you’ve hidden her for five years, and now that she’s awake you still want to keep her hidden, what exactly are you trying to do?" Jiang Yunchuan struggled violently as the bodyguards held him back: "Let go of ! I just want to see her, to say one word to her, damn it, let go of !"

Not until the noise had faded did Lu Qingyan turn around, warmth returning to his eyes: "The person disturbing us is gone."

Jiang Nanshu quietly swallowed.

The Lu Qingyan in front of her wasn’t right.

She still couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

Jiang Nanshu had been conscious for only a brief ti before she drifted back into a heavy sleep.

In her dreams, she was digesting the fact that she had been back in her original world for just over two years, yet five years had passed in this one!

When she woke up again, it was already the next day.

She lay on a luxurious, soft bed, strength returning to her hands and feet. She could move now.

Propping up her weak body, Jiang Nanshu groped her way towards the balcony. When she saw clearly where she was, she couldn’t help but gasp.

It was sowhat cold outside, as if it were early spring. Sharp vines had been placed all around, and in Jiang Nanshu’s field of vision, there was only this small patch of sky to see; she couldn’t even gaze into the distance.

"Click."

The door behind her opened.

A gust of cold wind blew by, lifting the hem of Jiang Nanshu’s white dress. She turned sharply and saw Lu Qingyan holding a food tray, his gaze light as he watched her.

His brows minutely furrowed when his eyes landed on her bare calves.

He set the items in his hands down on the table, and then, both tenderly and assertively, picked up Jiang Nanshu and carried her into the room, placing her on the bed.

His cool palm cradled her delicate foot.

He murmured a gentle admonition, "The doctor says you need to rest well and not catch cold, so you really shouldn’t go to places like the balcony. What if you catch a cold with how cold it is? Once you’re feeling a bit better, you can go out into the garden and bask in the sun. Don’t wander off too far; I would worry."

His tenderness was as if there was no grudge between them, as if even the things she had done to him five years ago had been forgotten.

Jiang Nanshu rembered well how he had fled the country in anger, even giving her the cold shoulder for a long ti before she jumped into the sea.

Jiang Nanshu didn’t respond to him, instead staring at him blankly.

Lu Qingyan didn’t care and began to cool the hot porridge in the bowl, blowing gently before feeding it to Jiang Nanshu.

"The doctor says you shouldn’t eat rich food right after waking up, you can’t eat and drink excessively. It’s best to start with so light porridge to transition, and once your stomach can handle it, I’ll make you sothing delicious." He said with a smile in his eyes, "Open your mouth."

Jiang Nanshu wanted to speak, but her throat felt blocked. She coughed softly a couple of tis and then obediently drank the porridge.

She really was too weak right now.

Walking just a few steps left her panting.

She wanted to talk to Lu Qingyan, but truly, she was willing but too powerless.

Lu Qingyan tucked her in, a light kiss landing on her cheek: "Sleep a little more, I’m going to head to the company. Be a good girl and wait for at ho."

Jiang Nanshu really felt like Lu Qingyan had changed a lot, but she couldn’t quite say how.
