Chapter 281: Chapter 281 I Found the Old Nannan

Mrs. Jiang stared blankly at her and, seeing that she was about to grab her, turned pale with fear.

“Get away from , I’m not your mom, your mom is Chu Xin, where is she?”

She took a small step back to put so distance between herself and Chu Muxi.

She’s really insane, recognizing mothers at random in the street. Even a three-year-old knows who their mom is, let alone Chu Muxi who’s over twenty. Both mother and daughter were equally annoying.

Seeing Mrs. Jiang’s resistance, Chu Muxi beca anxious and grabbed Mrs. Jiang’s hand directly: “Mom, it’s Nanshu, I am Jiang Nanshu. Please believe , I really am Nanshu, the one living in my body right now is a fake.”

Chu Muxi’s deanor was too frantic.

Mrs. Jiang pushed her away, hurriedly crawled into the car, and said still in panic, “Drive, drive now, shake off this nutcase.”

The driver drove past Chu Muxi and sped away.

Mrs. Jiang imdiately dialed Chu Xin’s phone. The call had just connected when she started scolding furiously: “Can’t you take care of your own daughter? She stopped my car in the street, almost causing a fatal accident, and she kept calling ‘mom,’ insisting she’s my daughter. What on earth is wrong with her?”

Chu Xin was shopping for sexy lingerie in the mall, planning to pretend to have an argunt with her husband, move into the Jiang Family ho for a few days, and see if she could make things work.

Before she could feel elated upon receiving Mrs. Jiang’s call, she was scolded ferociously, and even though the tone was extrely unpleasant, she still hadn’t had ti to feel upset when she heard about her daughter’s doings.

She was sowhat stunned: “What? Xixi sought you out? What’s going on?”

“I’d like to know that too. Isn’t she supposed to be injured? Instead of staying ho and recuperating, she runs out to randomly recognize relatives.” Mrs. Jiang’s tone towards Chu Xin was anything but pleasant, just the thought of her husband wanting to divorce her to eagerly marry Chu Xin, possibly even before she was dead, made her want to vomit.

Chu Xin thought of how Chu Muxi had been crazily trying to recognize Song Shuling as her mother these past few days, and she found it absurd.

Her brain was fine according to the hospital checks. She was in good health.

After bringing her ho, she had hired a bodyguard to watch her and forbidden her from leaving the house, but she never anticipated that she would still manage to slip away.

She understood Mrs. Jiang’s sudden anger; if it were her, she would feel like she was being hounded by a lunatic too.

But still, was her tone not a bit too harsh?

Yet she didn’t want her relationship with Mrs. Jiang to sour, so she pacified her in a gentle tone: “Shuling, my Xixi has changed since she was rescued from the pond. Give it so ti and she’ll be better. Please be patient with her for the next few days, or I can take her to your place and have Yiyi keep her company, how about that?”

She was actually eager to find a good excuse to move into the Jiang Family ho.

“Ha, I think you are the one who wants to move in, aren’t you? Chu Xin, keep your dirty sches to yourself, and don’t you ever think of setting foot in my house again!” Mrs. Jiang said and hung up the phone.

Chu Xin was dumbfounded, her eyes wide with disbelief. What the hell?

How did Mrs. Jiang find out?

Damn!

Did her own daughter tell Mrs. Jiang all her thoughts?

She was half mad with anger, just a step away from success, she couldn’t let Mrs. Jiang misunderstand no matter what.

The Chu Family still depended on the Jiang Family for survival.

The sexy lingerie in her hand suddenly felt like a hot potato. She wanted to throw it away but, under the scrutiny of the shop assistant’s gaze, she couldn’t bring herself to do it and resigned to buying it with a pinch of her nose.

Imdiately, she left the mall in a fluster.

After her anger subsided in the car, Mrs. Jiang gradually cald down.

She suddenly realized what Chu Muxi had said.

She was Jiang Nanshu, the current Jiang Nanshu was a fake.

These secrets were only known within the Jiang Family; how could Chu Muxi, an outsider, possibly know about them?

Her heartbeat began to speed up.

Jiang Nanshu had beco like a different person since jumping into the river.

Chu Muxi, too, had beco so strange because of the explosion that made her fall into the pond.

A disturbing premonition erged in her mind, unsettling her all the way until she reached the Jiang Family ho.

Mr. Jiang held a newspaper in one hand and a coconut juice in the other, the sa kind they drank at Fenglin Villa, and Mrs. Jiang couldn’t help but think about the tis they enjoyed the sa drink during their vacation there.

Mr. Jiang looked up, glanced at her with a cool expression, “How did it go? Is Nannan willing to co ho now?”

Mrs. Jiang pursed her lips, “Yes, she agreed to co ho. I ca back specially to prepare a family dinner. Let’s call all the sons back today.”

Mr. Jiang’s eyebrows relaxed, “We should have done this earlier. We as parents can’t always be so domineering. When it’s ti to apologize or make concessions, we must do so. How nice it would be to have our whole family together? Why create unnecessary complications?”

After waiting for him to finish rambling, Mrs. Jiang finally spoke, “I know my attitude hasn’t been good, but if Nanshu is willing to relent, things between us wouldn’t be so rigid…” She paused, then changed the topic, “Huan Ye, there’s sothing I want to talk to you about.”

“What is it?” Mr. Jiang asked without looking up.

Mrs. Jiang pondered carefully before replying cautiously, “What would you do if I said… I found the old Nanshu?”

Mr. Jiang: “…”

“???”

His eyes widened with anger, “Song Shuling, I warn you, don’t start any more trouble. I really will divorce you.”

Mrs. Jiang visibly beca angry, she was upset by Mr. Jiang’s words, “Stop threatening with divorce all the ti. I haven’t done anything wrong. You like Nannan, so I stay away from her. That should be enough, right? Yiyi also left the Jiang Family because of her. Everyone is making concessions, providing food, clothes, and a comfortable life. We don’t owe her anything.”

Seeing that she had no remorse.

Mr. Jiang was truly exhausted.

He wanted to lash out, but seeing Mrs. Jiang’s worn face, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Forget it, let it be.

He snorted coldly, “You had better hope Nanshu never hears any of this. She is our child, not a burden. My Jiang Family can support a hundred like her if needed. I don’t expect you to grovel before her; just rember, we are Nanshu’s biological parents!”

Those two words, parents, are tied to their child.

He waved dismissively, “I don’t want to argue with you. It’s good that Nannan is willing to co ho. Don’t bring up the past anymore. Go and prepare. I’ll call Zhou Ye to ask him to make ti to co ho this evening.”

Mrs. Jiang turned and left for the kitchen with a cold face.

In fact, there wasn’t much for her to do.

The villa had servants to cook; she just needed to list so dishes.

For instance, the food her sons liked to eat, and Jiang Leyi, whom she also had to invite.

She had raised a daughter for nineteen years; how could she just cut ties? She ordered Jiang Leyi’s favorite sweet and sour pork ribs.

The servant took notes with a pen, and when Mrs. Jiang was about to leave, she hurriedly asked, “Madam, what about the second miss? Should we prepare anything for her?”

What Jiang Nanshu liked…

Mrs. Jiang really didn’t know.

She pursed her lips, rubbing her temples wearily, “Anything will do; it doesn’t matter since the whole family will eat together. It doesn’t make any difference.”

“Eh, okay.”

After Mrs. Jiang left.

The servant who had been working in the kitchen added a plate of crispy pork.

Every week when Jiang Nanshu returned ho, she always ordered it.

Even if she had only eaten it a few tis, the servant rembered the dish she liked.
