Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Thank you

After finishing the call with Director Wen,

Jiang Nanshu found Duan Huaiyu’s number.

She dialed it directly.

The phone rang for two seconds before connecting.

After a two-second silence, the voice hesitated from the other end, “Miss?”

Jiang Nanshu chuckled lightly, responding lazily, “Yeah, it’s .”

“Do you need sothing?”

Jiang Nanshu yawned, her voice languid, “I’m here to repay you for saving my life. Where are you?”

“Swimming hall, actually never mind, I…”

“I sent you the address by text. Rember to go, it’s an opportunity I secured for you,” Jiang Nanshu stated bluntly.

“Miss…” Duan Huaiyu wanted to say sothing else but ended with a simple, “Thank you.”

Jiang Nanshu hung up and texted him the address given by Director Wen.

She had already paved the way for him.

Whether or not he succeeded depended entirely on his own effort and desire.

Director Wen was not a man driven by fa and fortune.

The films he directed didn’t need much publicity, and for the songs, he only chose those that suited the intentions of the drama, like how he only used new actresses for his female lead roles. He didn’t chase after famous, top-notch stars for the songs; he just needed what was appropriate.

The weather had been gloomy for days, but now the skies had cleared.

Jiang Nanshu ate breakfast and then brought a recliner out to the yard to soak up the sun.

“Little Auntie!” An excited child’s voice ca from beyond the estate.

Jiang Nanshu squinted as she looked over.

There was Shang Xu, wearing a small denim jacket, a white fisherman’s hat, and carrying a little backpack, smiling and waving at Jiang Nanshu.

Behind him stood Lu Junqin.

Her face bore so scabbed scars, but otherwise, she seed unhard. Dressed in a long dress with a short jacket, her eyes watched Shang Xu softly.

Jiang Nanshu pressed a button on the remote sitting on the side table next to her, and the estate gate automatically opened.

After they entered, the gate closed automatically behind them.

Shang Xu grinned at Jiang Nanshu, “Little Auntie, I’m off to school.”

“Look at my new backpack. It has SpongeBob and Patrick on it.”

He lovingly touched it with his little hands.

Jiang Nanshu replied, sitting up straight and ruffling his head, “Hmm, it’s really cute. Congratulations on starting preschool.”

Shang Xu blushed, opened his backpack’s zipper, and took out his talking toy diamond, “I’m giving this to you to thank you for helping and my mom.”

His tender, dumpling-like face brightened with a shy smile as he whispered, “Little Auntie, that’s just… if you stop liking my little uncle, just wait till I grow up.”

His eyes sparkled.

Jiang Nanshu was amused by his childlike speech, “Okay, I’ll wait.”

Lu Junqin shook her head helplessly, pinched Shang Xu’s little face, and gently said, “Go play over there. I have sothing to discuss with your future little aunt.”

Shang Xu obediently walked away to play with mud elsewhere.

Lu Junqin’s smile faded, and with pursed lips, she bowed to Jiang Nanshu, “Thank you. It was you who saved Xiao Xu, keeping that man from sending him away. Thank you for appearing that night.”

Lu Junqin simply couldn’t imagine what would have happened if Jiang Nanshu hadn’t shown up that night.

Shang Xu would have been taken by Shang Chi to a place she could not find and tortured.

Thinking about it made her heart bleed.

It was also because of this that she saw things clearly.

The tolerance she thought she had was never going to exchange for Shang Xu’s safe life.

They would only consider their own interests, who would really care about her son?

With Lu Mother no longer watching, Lu Junqin felt as if she had co back to life.

Jiang Nanshu, eating the washed fruit on the table, said to Lu Junqin, “Take a seat.”

She narrowed her eyes comfortably, “I can help Xuxu temporarily, but not for a lifeti, it still depends on you, his mother, to protect him as he grows. He is still young and has an unlimited future.”

Lu Junqin stared at Jiang Nanshu sowhat stunned.

It was her first interaction with Jiang Nanshu.

Previously, she was rumored to be brainless and vicious, but the comfortable and beautiful girl in front of her didn’t match the rumors.

The sunlight spilled onto her, even the sun seed to favor her, coating her in a layer of warm light.

Lu Junqin smiled faintly, “I will protect him, but I’m a bit curious, why did you help us?”

Jiang Nanshu half-closed her eyes and lay back down, “Because you were disturbing .”

Lu Junqin’s lips parted slightly, she wanted to say, in such a situation, Jiang Nanshu could have completely called the property managent instead of personally beating Shang Chi to the point where he couldn’t fight back.

She didn’t need to scare Shang Xu by having him stay in the room.

She didn’t have to manage at all, taking on the hatred of the Shang Family.

If Jiang Nanshu hadn’t appeared, the fact that she was a victim of dostic violence wouldn’t have been revealed.

Eventually, she smiled slightly, “Thank you, I understand now. Since dostic violence isn’t illegal, why shouldn’t I fight back? That day I saw you beating him like a dead dog, and suddenly realized, the person who has been bullying for so long, is truly nothing. He can only bully those weaker than him, but cowers before soone stronger.”

Jiang Nanshu realized, so the noise in the middle of the night was her beating Shang Chi?

“Then try to keep it down on weekends, those are the few days I rest at ho, other tis I won’t care how you fight,” Jiang Nanshu clarified directly.

She didn’t want to wake up in the middle of the night every day, it affected her sleep.

Lu Junqin blushed slightly, embarrassed, and whispered, “Okay, I got it.”

“This morning I saw Qingyan leaving here… are you living together?”

“No,” Jiang Nanshu denied outright, adding, “I just live here alone and I’m afraid of the dark, he stayed with for the night.”

A knowing smile appeared on Lu Junqin’s face, “That’s quite rare. I’ve seldom seen him care about anything so much. You’re the first one, otherwise he wouldn’t have brought you to live in his house. Qingyan has been very territorial since he was young.”

Jiang Nanshu paused, “This is Lu Qingyan’s house?”

Lu Junqin was astonished, “Yes, didn’t you know? He bought this house when he was fifteen after earning his first five million.”

“Later, Shang Chi also bought a house here and by chance beca Qingyan’s neighbor.”

Jiang Nanshu: “…”

What kind of person earns five million at fifteen!

No… she seed to be focused on the wrong point.

This house belonged to Lu Qingyan.

Then why did he say it was his friend selling on behalf, having her transfer five million to buy this villa.

Jiang Nanshu’s nails pinched into her palm until she felt pain before relaxing her grip.

Seeing Jiang Nanshu silent, Lu Junqin continued to ask, “You didn’t know?”

Jiang Nanshu earnestly shook her head, “I didn’t know.”

She chuckled, “But now I do.”

Lu Junqin didn’t think too deeply, “Maybe he didn’t want to burden you psychologically, I heard you were kicked out of your ho, they are so heartless to send a young girl out alone.”

“If sothing really happened, it would be their regret.”
