” Achoo — ” She couldn’t hold back a sneeze.

Sheng Yize frowned. “Rhinitis again?”

“Nah, just a sneeze.” An Xiaxia didn’t think much of it.

Sheng Yize, however, went to summon the doctor as if he was confronted with so terminal disease. While An Xiaxia was being examined, he waited right outside the door, which turned the heads of quite a few of the passing nurses.

The doctor teased while checking her, “You two are such a loving couple.”

“Um, we’re alright.” An Xiaxia smiled. “He’s just being fussy.”

“Hoho, I’m afraid you don’t appreciate your caring husband enough.” The doctor smiled amiably. “Take your rhinitis for example. I presu that you don’t think it’s that big a deal, correct? Most people think the sa way and live with the relapses over and over again. Am I right to assu that you’ve never been properly treated for it?”

An Xiaxia smiled awkwardly. The doctor was right. Her rhinitis would recur for a period of ti every year like a common cold and she would keep it at bay by taking so dicine.

“After you were hospitalized, your husband looked through all your test results. I think he knows your health condition better than yourself,” said the doctor kindly. “It’s very rare to et soone who cherishes you so much.”

An Xiaxia was baffled. She hadn’t known anything about what the doctor had just said.

Was Sheng Yize that nice to her? An Xiaxia stared blankly into the air.

After the examination, the doctor prescribed so dicine and let Sheng Yize fetch it.

Sheng Yize prepared everything himself. After everything was set, he gave the dicine to the nurse, who then fed it to An Xiaxia.

Despite how bitter the dicine was, An Xiaxia gulped it down in one go. “Where did he go?”

“I think Young Master Ze went to take a shower,” replied the nurse.

An Xiaxia panicked a little and covered her head with the duvet.

She was still ill! How could Sheng Yize... he was so horny!

Shaless!

When Sheng Yize entered the ward again, he was welcod by a pillow An Xiaxia swung at him. The little woman yelled at the top of her lungs, “Forget it! I’m not sleeping with you!”

Sheng Yize was speechless. “I’m not sleeping with you even if you want to.”

What? An Xiaxia gingerly stuck her head out from under the duvet and blinked at Sheng Yize.

His short black hair was still damp and she could faintly make out the sll of soap. He seed to have washed himself quite thoroughly.

“Why did you take a shower at this hour...” An Xiaxia was confused.

“Don’t you have rhinitis? The cigarette sll on will irritate your nose,” said Sheng Yize casually. He then sat down on the sofa to read a newspaper. “Go to bed. You’re coming back with to the Sheng family ho tomorrow.”

An Xiaxia curled up under the duvet, stealing glances at him.

She drooled over the fair and slender fingers holding the newspaper — she had always had a thing for pretty hands. His black eyelashes were very long and when he batted them, it reminded her of little black fans...

“Enjoying the view?” he said all of a sudden.

An Xiaxia jumped. “Weren’t you reading the newspaper?”

Sheng Yize looked up and gave her an “are you an idiot” look. “You do realize that I can see out of the corner of my eyes?”

Caught in the act, An Xiaxia jabbed her fingertips together, guilty as charged.

She suddenly recalled the cigarette sll on him just then...

“Are you still smoking now? I thought you quit.” She pretended to strike up a casual conversation.

Sheng Yize froze for two seconds before giving her a self-mocking smile. “I’m too addicted to quit now.”

After she left, he had beco completely addicted to smoking and would finish a few packs in a day.

An Xiaxia’s heart raced. Could Sheng Yize be the person that had saved her?

“Have you... looked for secretly all these years? I’m just asking!”
