Lying on the bed, staring at the cracked wooden ceiling, I let out a long sigh.
"Damn... this world is huge."
I turned onto my side, my mind racing. The Forsaken Lands alone had revealed hidden kings, lost legacies, and secrets buried for centuries. And that was just one region.
What else was out there?
Ancient ruins? Forgotten civilizations? Hidden continents?
I smirked to myself. "I've barely scratched the surface."
A part of wanted to chase after the main quest—to claim the Forsaken Throne and see what kind of power ca with it. But another part of ? It wanted to roam free, to carve my own path.
I sat up, resting my elbows on my knees.
"Alright... tomorrow, what else can I do besides these damn system quests?"
I started listing off the possibilities in my head:
1. Explore the capital – I had only seen the streets, but there had to be underground markets, blacksmiths crafting legendary weapons, and taverns filled with old warriors who knew forgotten stories.
2. Find a proper guild – Traveling alone was fun, but even I knew that information networks and connections were important. If there was a rcenary Guild or an Adventurer's Guild, joining could be useful.
3. Look for rare materials – The Gauntlets of Abyss were powerful, but they weren't invincible. If I could find a blacksmith with access to rare tals or lost forging techniques, I could make them even stronger.
4. Find a teacher or rival – Strength ca from battle, not just levels. Maybe there was soone in this city strong enough to push beyond my limits. A retired swordsman? A rogue mage? A warlord in hiding?
5. Investigate the world's hidden powers – If the Forsaken Throne was real, what other myths were actually true? Were there forgotten gods, hidden dungeons, or legendary beasts?
6. Test my limits – I had reached level 149 faster than most warriors probably could in a lifeti. But was that enough? If I faced a true calamity—**a demon king, a world-ending catastrophe, or a godly opponent—**would I survive?
I grinned, feeling my blood boil at the thought.
"This world is mine to conquer."
Lying back on the bed, I stretched my arms behind my head, staring at the wooden ceiling of the small inn room. The faint glow of the lantern flickered, casting shadows on the walls.
"Damn... it really is over, isn't it?"
For the first ti in years, I felt free. Truly free. No chains, no obligations, no lies tying down.
No more Abigail 'Bitch' Bardot and her pathetic little gas.
I smirked, closing my eyes for a mont as I imagined the ss she must be in by now.
"That golden boy of hers, Joshua? Yeah... he's probably already got his claws deep into her fortune."
I could picture it perfectly—Joshua playing the devoted fool, whispering sweet nothings into her ear while slowly bleeding her dry. That man was obsessed with power, and Abigail? She was a stepping stone.
"She probably thought she had wrapped around her finger," I muttered, chuckling. "But in the end, she was always just another idiot only to get played herself."
Serves her right.
While she was rotting away in her own foolishness, I was here, standing on the precipice of a new world, a new future, a new legacy.
No more betrayals. No more shackles.
Just , my strength, and the endless possibilities ahead.
I exhaled slowly, feeling the weight of the past finally slipping away.
"Yeah... this is how it should be."
A smirk tugged at my lips as I let my body relax. The bed was rough, the air carried the scent of old wood and faint smoke, and the world outside was still unknown... but for the first ti in a long ti, I felt at peace.
"Tomorrow... is a new beginning."
And with that final thought, I closed my eyes and drifted into a smooth, dreamless sleep.
