Hummm...

A wave of energy swirled behind him, and the massive wings slowly retreated back into his body.

It actually worked!

Lilia cheered and grabbed Allen’s arm, her eyes shining with excitent. "I did it! I’m not a vampire!"

"No, you are," Allen countered bluntly. "You almost drained dry."

"Hey, are we done with this? You have to keep this a secret, or I’ll really suck every drop of your blood!" Lilia puffed out her cheeks, swung her tiny fists in the air, and bared her two sharp little fangs in a threat.

Allen wasn’t the least bit afraid. He looked at Lilia, who now looked completely normal, just like anyone else. "Hey, now that you’re back to normal, does that an you can fly with those wings?"

In the world of Class Awakened, only wind-elent mages could fly. Even Stage 9 masters couldn’t take to the skies.

Lilia’s eyes lit up again. She was curious too. "Let’s try."

She focused her mind. A glow enveloped her back, and the black wings she had just hidden reappeared instantly.

They spread out wide, spanning over three ters.

Lilia took a running start, flapped her wings, and suddenly, a gust of wind kicked up. She actually lifted off the ground!

At first, she was a bit unsteady, wobbling in the air. But soon, she mastered the skill. Like a fierce eagle, she turned into a dark shadow, soaring freely through the night sky.

"Haha, Allen, did you see that? I can fly!"

Her triumphant laughter echoed through the night.

Allen looked up, watching the dark shadow circling above. He felt a touch of envy and called out, "Lilia, give a ride. I want to fly too."

"Get lost!"

Lilia’s sharp shout was followed by a sharp blast of energy that shot straight toward him.

Allen dodged lightly. As Lilia landed, he frowned angrily. "I’m your savior! Is this how you treat ?"

"Hmph!"

Lilia let out a short, arrogant sound.

Her earlier resistance to her vampire identity was completely gone now. She could fly, and more importantly, she noticed that Allen was very curious about her. He hadn’t pushed her away just because she was a vampire.

She studied him, her beautiful eyes sparkling. "Fine, I guess I can give you a ride. But let have one more sip of your blood first."

She said this while staring directly at Allen’s neck, at the faint pulse of the veins beneath his skin. They seed to have a deadly attraction for her. She really wanted to pounce and take a huge bite.

"No way!"

Allen took a step back, his expression alert and angry. "You almost killed just now by drinking my blood."

"Don’t be so stingy. Just a little bit of blood," Lilia said.

She spread her wings and vanished in a flash, reappearing right in front of him. Before he could react, she wrapped her arms around his neck and clung to him like a koala.

Allen stared at the stunning face just inches away. The faint, sweet fragrance drifting from her made him swallow hard.

This girl’s beauty was even deadlier than her identity as a vampire.

"Don’t worry," Lilia whispered like a devil tempting him. She bared her two long fangs and slowly lowered her head. "I’ll just take a tiny bite. It won’t kill you."

"Damn it!"

Allen suddenly snapped out of his daze. He shoved her away, his eyes wide with anger. "If you try to drink my blood one more ti, I’ll tell the whole world about your vampire identity!"

"Tsk, so stingy," Lilia muttered, regaining her balance with a pout.

"By the way," she suddenly rembered sothing, her expression confused. "You were about to turn into a corpse just a mont ago. How did you suddenly co back to life? Are you immortal?"

Allen’s heart skipped a beat. This girl had actually figured it out.

"I don’t know," he said firmly, shaking his head. It was his biggest secret. The Art of Immortality increased his lifespan, so while he wasn’t technically immortal, it was pretty close.

"Co on, don’t be so cheap," Lilia said, folding her wings and leaning in close again. "I already know your vampire secret, so tell yours. Then we’ll be even."

"I really don’t know," Allen said, his tone calm and sincere. He wasn’t lying.

Lilia narrowed her beautiful eyes suspiciously. "Could it be because of ?"

"What does that have to do with ?" Allen thought she was so full of herself, even making herself the center of his miraculous recovery.

Lilia explained eagerly. "Vampires are known for their long lives. Legends say that many people on the brink of death would even beg to get infected by a vampiric curse and beco vampires. I bit you just now, didn’t I? Maybe I gave you the immortal vampiric curse?"

Allen frowned. Her logic was absurd, but it was actually a perfect excuse. If his identity was ever exposed, he could use this story to explain his survival.

Seeing Allen go silent, Lilia assud she was right and grew even more smug. "So, Allen, does that an I’m your savior too? Are we even now?"

"Hmph."

Allen let out a cold laugh. He looked Lilia up and down with a mischievous grin. "Even if we are even, I now know your vampire secret. Because of that, you’re stuck with for the rest of your life!"

"You... you scum! You promised not to reveal my secret!" Lilia stepped back, her teeth clenched in anger.

"When did I promise that?" Allen wore a shaless expression.

"You!" Lilia stomped her foot in frustration. That scum really hadn’t explicitly promised to keep her secret.

"Then what will it take for you to promise to keep my secret?"

Lilia wanted to threaten him, but she rembered that Allen was a The Heaven-Cursed. He could cast Forbidden Spells instantly. Now, thanks to her, he might even have gained immortal traits. She couldn’t win against him.

Allen thought for a mont and then said, "Take flying around once."

"Okay, deal!" Lilia agreed imdiately. She spread her massive wings, grabbed Allen, and shot straight into the sky.

This ti, she didn’t even need a running start.

"Hey, hey! Not like that! I want to ride on you..." Allen protested. Howling wind rushed past his ears. The ground below grew smaller and smaller. Without a solid footing, he felt unsteady and scared.

"Dream on," Lilia said coldly, increasing her speed. She intentionally perford difficult maneuvers just to scare Allen.

With the wind roaring around them, Allen felt dizzy and disoriented, as if he might fall from the sky at any second.

Falling from this height wouldn’t kill him, but it would surely leave him crippled.

"Lilia, don’t be so cruel!" Allen shouted angrily as a gust of wind blasted into his stomach.

"Tsk, didn’t you say you wanted to experience flying?" Lilia asked innocently.

"Alright, that’s enough. Put down," Allen admitted defeat. It was ti to back down.

"Whatever," Lilia muttered, clearly not done yet. She spread her wings wide, slowed her speed, and gently began to descend.

"Wait!" Allen suddenly called out, interrupting her. He stared at the distant forest.

There, firelight flickered, illuminating a bonfire.

From above, the arrangent of bonfires ford a strange pattern, looking like a magical formation.

Lilia noticed it too. "I rember that place is the goblin den. There’s a Stage 2, Level 3 Goblin King there."

A Stage 2 monster should be the strongest entity in the Academy’s beginner secret realm.

Allen was curious. "Let’s go check it out."

"Okay." Lilia agreed. She flapped her wings, shot upward, and quickly flew toward the firelight.

This ti, her flight was smooth and steady.

...

Deep in the dense forest, nurous bonfires burned in a strange pattern when viewed from the air.

Groups of goblins danced and sang wildly around the fires.

"What are these guys doing?" Lilia hovered in the air, puzzled.

Allen shook his head. He didn’t know either, but he was sure it wasn’t anything good.

"Lower the altitude," he signaled to Lilia, scanning for the Goblin King.

Regardless of what these goblins were planning, taking out the Goblin King first was the priority.

"Got it." Lilia lowered her height again.

The night was deep and dark. The noise below was so chaotic that no goblin noticed the two figures above them.

"I found him!" Allen spotted an old, withered goblin standing in the center of the bonfire.

The creature stood alone, holding a staff high, muttering words in a low chant.

"This looks like an ancient summoning spell. Allen, what should we do?" Lilia felt a pang of unease and asked softly.

"Who cares? Let’s kill him first. Just fly steady!" Allen warned. In his hand, a massive fireball coalesced and he hurled it straight at the old goblin.

Whoosh!

The fireball scread through the air like a falling teor.

"Hmm?" The Goblin King, who was muttering his spell, suddenly sensed the danger. He looked up just as the giant fireball ca barreling down.

"It’s bad! Intruders!" He shouted in alarm. He raised his staff high, and the bonfire below surged upward, transforming into a twisting fire snake that smashed into the incoming fireball.
