Chapter 152: Chapter 151 Unworthy
Qi Yue changed out of her lab coat and put on a clean set of sportswear before hailing a taxi to the restaurant.
When she arrived at the private room, her parents and Qi Zhen had already gotten there.
The three of them were chatting cheerfully about sothing, surrounded by laughter and banter.
The mont Qi Yue pushed the door open, the voices inside the room abruptly ceased, and the atmosphere plunged into awkwardness.
Qi Zhen was affectionately clinging to their mother’s arm, acting coquettishly. Seeing Qi Yue coming in, her smile faded slightly, showing a touch of displeasure from being interrupted.
Their father, Qi Wanli, broke the silence, “Yueyue is here, co in quickly!”

Their mother also stood up, about to speak, but upon seeing Qi Yue’s attire, she frowned slightly, “Yueyue, didn’t I ask you to dress more appropriately? Why did you co dressed like this?”
Qi Yue glanced at her own straightforward and clean sportswear, not quite understanding what was inappropriate about it.
Maybe compared to Qi Zhen’s outfit today, she indeed seed less “appropriate”.
Today, Qi Zhen’s face was adorned with delicate makeup, she was wearing a champagne-colored Chanel dress suit, her neck featured a limited edition Bulgari necklace, and a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet adorned her wrist, not unlike a major celebrity, even more dazzling than when Qi Yue had seen her near the school.
“Yueyue, don’t you have any dresses? For a girl, why do you always wear such drab clothes? If you really don’t know how to choose, you could learn from your sister…” their mother kept nagging.
Qi Wanli coughed lightly, trying to smooth things over, “Shuhua! Alright, stop nagging, it’s not easy for us to get together; you can’t keep nitpicking about what the kids wear or do. We’re all family here, it’s not so formal.”
Yu Shuhua gave Qi Wanli a glare, “Have you forgotten that President Chen and his family are coming tonight!”
ntioning President Chen, Yu Shuhua’s expression softened slightly, “Never mind, it’s a good thing you’re not the star tonight…”
“Is soone else coming?” Qi Yue asked.
Yu Shuhua smiled as she explained, “President Chen is an old friend of your dad and . His family moved abroad before and just ca back recently. Since we were coming to City A, we arranged to have dinner with them…”
Yu Shuhua only then got to the point, looking at Qi Zhen and said, “President Chen has a son who works in top dostic scientific research institutions since returning to the country. He is quite the eligible bachelor and I think he matches our Zhenzhen quite well…”
The implication was that the purpose of this dinner was to set up Qi Zhen with President Chen’s son.
Yu Shuhua examined her younger daughter, satisfaction gleaming in her eyes.
Zhenzhen, upon hearing this, pursed her lips, “Mom, I told you to stop doing this! What era do you think this is, still arranging these matchmaking dinners!”
Although Qi Zhen said this, there was no sign of displeasure in her eyes.
Yu Shuhua responded with an affectionate frustration, “You child, President Chen’s son is an elite graduate from a prestigious school and has such a good job. He was headhunted with a high salary, a million a year! Though he doesn’t earn as much as those big celebrities, his future prospects are limitless, and his work is so respectable. When you say he’s a scientist, that carries weight; he’s better than any man you know…”
Qi Zhen’s gaze swept over Qi Yue and she casually said, “Why don’t you introduce him to Qi Yue?”
Yu Shuhua was taken aback, her face colored with slight embarrassnt, and she mumbled, “Your sister, she doesn’t want to go on blind dates, and besides…”
Yu Shuhua’s remaining words were left unspoken, but Qi Yue understood all too well.
Her mother felt that, given her own circumstances, she was not suited for President Chen’s highly accomplished son.
