As he spoke, he headed to Paige Sterling’s room, which had a secret door connecting to Julian Hawthorne’s house.

If Jared Sullivan saw that door, she wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.

"Dad. You can’t just barge into a girl’s room," Paige Sterling pulled Jared Sullivan to sit on the sofa.

Jared Sullivan thought for a mont and agreed, his daughter wasn’t a little kid anymore, and he shouldn’t casually enter her room.

"Where did you go drinking? You reek of alcohol."

"I just had a few drinks with friends."

"Which friend? Do I know them?" Jared Sullivan asked sternly.

Paige Sterling lied with a straight face, "It was with Sumr."

Jared Sullivan didn’t suspect his daughter was lying and believed her, "You have to be careful when you go out, you know? Don’t drink anything given by strangers."

Paige Sterling nodded quickly, "I know, Dad."

Then the usual pep talk began, and Paige Sterling could almost predict what he was going to say next.

Patiently, Paige Sterling waited for him to finish his lecture, then said, "Dad, I made a robot for you."

The Sterling family didn’t really need an all-purpose robot, so this robot specialized in massage.

Jared Sullivan assud the robot Paige Sterling ntioned was just a toy or sothing.

But when he saw Paige Sterling open her palm, take out sothing the size of a car key, and then that thing transford with a click into a robot with only arms and legs, Jared Sullivan was dumbfounded.

It didn’t have any eyebrows, yet it wasn’t at all creepy; instead, it looked surprisingly cute.

Paige Sterling issued a voice command, and the robot started massaging Jared Sullivan’s shoulders, automatically adjusting based on Jared Sullivan’s body indicators to create a personalized massage routine.

Jared Sullivan felt the robot’s massage was so comfortable, even better than a professional masseuse’s, and all his fatigue from the day disappeared.

"This robot can fold up, Dad, so you can easily take it with you. If you get tired, just let it give you a massage. It’s also waterproof, so it can massage you even in the bath."

Jared Sullivan closed his eyes, looking utterly satisfied.

When his daughter talked about making robots, Jared Sullivan hadn’t realized how much heart she was putting into it.

And to make a massage robot just for him, his daughter was truly filial. No wonder his daughter was the best!

Jared Sullivan suddenly sighed heavily.

Paige Sterling asked, "Dad, what’s wrong?"

Jared Sullivan said, "Our Beau is so outstanding, I suddenly realize that kid from the Xavier Family isn’t good enough for you..."

He sat up imdiately, "No, no, you shouldn’t be dating anyone yet. Let look for soone more suitable for you."

Paige Sterling, "..."

Jared Sullivan left, full of pride, with the robot in hand, and once again started praising his daughter to everyone he t.

However, almost no one believed Jared Sullivan.

After all, isn’t every parent out there boasting about their children?

But Jared Sullivan went too far, claiming his daughter was so kind of scientist. Becoming a scientist isn’t that simple; without real talent, it’s hard to maintain such an image.

Jared Sullivan could tell that even though people flattered him, they didn’t truly believe him.

They even thought the massage robot he showed off was made by soone else and kept asking who the real talent behind it was.

They just didn’t believe Paige Sterling made it.

Jared Sullivan humd to himself, knowing that once his daughter’s robot hit the market, everyone would see that he was being modest about his daughter’s talents.

...

"I’ll co to the office tomorrow to see you," this sentence echoed in Julian Hawthorne’s mind the entire night.

What would Paige Sterling say to him in the office tomorrow?

Secretary Jones noticed Julian Hawthorne entering the office looking contemplative, and after a quick glance at Julian’s mood, concluded that it was neither too bad nor too good.

Better to err on the side of caution.

Julian Hawthorne was casual at the office, always wearing either a black or gray three-piece suit.

However, by noon every day, he would spruce himself up. Today was no exception.

He even dressed more formally today, looking like he was ready for a wedding.

Based on this, Shaun Jones concluded that Julian’s mood wasn’t bad; probably because Miss Sterling was coming over around noon.

While looking formally dressed, Julian pretended to be absorbed in his files, but his mind was almost entirely elsewhere, glancing at his watch from ti to ti.

By the ti it was noon, and Paige still hadn’t shown up or even called, Julian began to suspect his watch was broken, took it off, and tossed it aside before checking his phone.

The ti was the sa on the phone, even the clock hanging on the wall was aligned.

Julian grew irritated, wondering if Paige was stopped by reception downstairs.

He called the front desk, and the receptionist was thrilled to receive a personal call from the chairman.

Julian Hawthorne confird several tis that no one nad Paige Sterling had been there today before reluctantly hanging up.

Why hadn’t she co yet?

Was she too busy in the lab? Asleep? Was there an issue at her company or...

After entertaining a myriad of speculations and eliminating various accidental scenarios over Paige eting him, Julian decided to call her.

Yet, with the phone in his hand, he hesitated.

What if she used her drunkenness as an excuse to deny what happened yesterday?

Julian began pondering how he would respond if Paige denied it, but after circling through options, he arrived at the conclusion that the best approach was still to wait for Paige to co find him.

To kill ti, Julian took the elevator to the lobby for a walk, his stern expression made the lobby staff visibly nervous.

Then Julian toured the finance departnt, sales departnt, HR departnt, and R&D departnt, spreading his tension to the entire company. Visiting the seventeenth floor, he then went on to the eighteenth floor.

Upon returning to his office, Paige Sterling still hadn’t arrived, but Simon Hawthorne had.

However, seeing Julian’s stern face when he entered, he imdiately turned around to leave — bad timing.

Julian called out, "Simon Hawthorne, co here."

Simon cautiously approached, "Big brother, what do you want?"

Julian picked up a pen and wrote him a check.

Simon swiftly took it, enthusiasm lighting up his face, "Big brother, what’s the task?"

Julian paused for a mont, "Call Paige Sterling for ."

"Why ?" His brother wasn’t typically eager for him to interact with Paige, right?

But Julian didn’t answer, just stared at him.

Under Julian’s intense gaze, Simon quickly nodded, "Okay, okay, I’ll call, but what should I say?"
