Paige Sterling originally thought she could finally get a good night’s sleep, but unexpectedly, she had just fallen into a deep sleep in the middle of the night when Henry Hale woke her up.

Henry Hale looked sowhat anxious, "Get up quickly, we’re leaving here right now."

Paige frowned, nestling in the blanket without moving.

Seeing she wasn’t moving, Henry reached out to pull her, "Paige, get up!"

Paige shook off his hand, "Why are you in such a hurry? Who’s here?"

Henry’s eyes were dark. "Julian Hawthorne is here, are you happy?"

Paige laughed, "Look at my expression."

Henry’s face twisted, "Are you getting up yourself or do I have to carry you?"

Paige tugged at her lips, finally got out of bed, and put on her clothes.

She also stuffed so food into her pockets, planning to eat on the road.

After getting in the car, she mocked Henry a bit, "Running around like a drowned rat, hiding everywhere, what’s the point?"

"Whether there’s a point, that’s up to ," Henry said, driving. "As long as you’re with , it doesn’t matter what kind of life I live."

Paige’s face remained expressionless, completely unmoved by Henry’s words.

Henry sighed; he didn’t know what else he could do to warm Paige’s cold heart.

Perhaps he would never warm it, or maybe he didn’t have a lifeti to try.

But no matter what, he had to fight for himself, even if what he could fight for was pitifully short.

"Paige, we’re going to the next place."

Paige didn’t ask where they were going, and Henry said, "To a place you’ve never been."

Still, Paige said nothing, and Henry focused on driving, then suddenly asked Paige, "Do you know how Julian Hawthorne found us?"

Even without Paige asking, he continued, "Those won we t at the mall, and the girl you t just now by the sea, they sold out. I shouldn’t have been rciful; cut them down to the root, and there’d be no such trouble."

After all, not wanting to kill in front of Paige was one reason, but more critically, Henry was too arrogant.

He always thought he could control everything, that he would be the ultimate winner, that nothing could go beyond his control.

But things went contrary to his plans, and developnts always headed in the opposite direction of what he had imagined.

So, in the end, he started running and beca increasingly pathetic.

"Paige, if there’s a next ti, I will kill."

He said.

Paige glanced at him, "Then you’ll just die faster."

Henry said, "Are you willing to kill over so people you don’t even know? Is so random person more important to you than ?"

Paige said flatly, "You’re really smart."

Henry’s expression was ugly, "Paige, apart from the pain I caused you at the beginning, I have been compliant all these days, never done anything excessive to you. I just want to keep you by my side, do you really hate this much?"

Paige tugged at her lips, feeling Henry’s words were utter nonsense.

Henry said again, "If I try to beco the person you imagine, try to be good to you, and still, you don’t like even a little bit, then what’s the point of my effort?"

He laughed at himself, "Paige, don’t make too desperate, or I would rather die with you than let you and Julian Hawthorne be happy. If I, Henry Hale, can’t have you, why should anyone else? Nobody in this world cares more about you than I do."

Paige’s face remained expressionless, still treating Henry’s words as nonsense.

She didn’t understand what Henry ant by always saying these things.

Not wanting to hear Henry babbling anymore, Paige blocked her ears and went to sleep.

The car kept moving without stopping except for refueling. Henry, having kept the sa position for a long ti, was feeling stiff all over.

He was also a bit tired and said to Paige, "Paige, you drive."

Paige lifted her eyelids and asked Henry calmly, "Are you sure?"

Suddenly Henry felt he was crazy to let Paige drive.

Perhaps without his intent to die with Paige, Paige would co up with it first.

"Forget it, I’ll drive. You just rest."

When the car stopped again, Henry said to Paige, "Paige, we’re almost out of fuel, and can only make it this far."

Paige looked outside and found the car had reached the entrance of a desert.

The sandstorm was strong, making it almost impossible to open her eyes. The sand piling on the car soon ford a thick layer.

This was just at the entrance; once inside, who knows how severe the sandstorm would be.

Paige looked at Henry, "Are you planning to hide in the desert?"

Has Henry reached his limit?

Running into the desert to evade pursuit?

This is the season when storms are most frequent, and it’s easiest to get lost in the desert. Once inside, they might really die out there.

Does Henry think he’s capable of controlling nature?

Henry said, "Don’t be afraid, we are just going in to have a look."

He had a gentle look, "I said I’d show you the most unusual sights in the world, beco a man you’ll never forget."

Paige sneered, "Running for your life is one thing, but can’t you be honest? Is there any point in finding excuses?"

"If you don’t trust , there’s nothing I can do," Henry said indifferently, "Then guess what, if we go into the desert, will Julian Hawthorne find us?"

Seeing Paige not respond, Henry’s smile grew wider, "Paige, if Julian really finds you in the desert, then I’ll let you go, how about that?"

Paige coldly laughed, "What right do you have to let us go? You’re the one running for your life now; you should ask if we’re willing to let you go."

"Well, will you let go, Professor Sterling?"

"No."

Henry shrugged helplessly, "I knew it, so I won’t let you go back either."

Henry said, suddenly feeling the urge to touch Paige’s head.

But as soon as Paige saw his movent, she quickly dodged, full of repulsion towards Henry.

Henry said, "Don’t always avoid like this. I’m not so monster in front of you, just an ordinary man; I won’t hurt you."

Paige didn’t say anything, and Henry had already opened the car door and got out.

The sandstorm rushed in, chilling Paige montarily.

Soon, Henry closed the door and went to open the other side, only to find it couldn’t be opened.

Then he realized he forgot to take the car keys out, and Paige had locked the doors from inside, so he couldn’t open them at all.

Henry knocked on the window and talked to Paige, but the sandstorm was so loud that Paige closed the doors and windows tightly, unable to hear what Henry was saying.

Paige completely ignored how bad Henry felt outside and bundled herself up in a cotton jacket.

There was food and drink inside the car, and the heater was on, keeping it warm, so she wasn’t afraid at all.

But as for Henry, being stuck outside, who knows how long he could endure it.
