He thought of asking Alla to make him sothing to eat, but then he rembered that Alla didn’t like paying attention to him. If he asked her to make sothing, she might just throw sothing together to fool him.

So Henry Hale looked at Paige Sterling and said, "Are you hungry?"

Paige didn’t respond, so he added, "Shall we ask Alla to make us sothing?"

It was obvious he wanted Paige to be the one to make the request.

Paige ignored him. Henry Hale showed her what it ant to be shaless and invincible.

But not long after, Alla ca in of her own accord. She had probably gone to the hills and brought back a lot of wild fruits.

She handed the sweet fruits to Paige, while all the sour ones, which were nearly inedible, she gave to Henry Hale.

Paige gave her a smile. At this mont, she didn’t dare do anything to Henry Hale. Firstly, she didn’t have the power, and secondly, she feared that if she failed to take him down, it would instead provoke him to act against Alla.

She was a kind woman, and Paige didn’t want to drag her into trouble.

Paige ate the sweet fruits while Henry Hale’s face twisted from the sour ones.

He looked at Paige, but Paige pretended not to see his discomfort.

Alla didn’t seem to have any intention of cooking for them either, leaving Henry Hale to continue eating the sour fruits.

He even began to suspect that Alla might be doing it on purpose.

In the end, he found the last few pieces were too difficult to swallow and tossed them aside.

Alla saw this and gave Henry a disapproving look for wasting food before leaving.

Afterward, Alla prepared so food for Paige but not for Henry, as if to retaliate against him.

Henry Hale, "..."

What else could he do? Under soone’s roof, you have to bow your head.

Watching Paige eat so heartily, Henry Hale could only sigh, "Paige, we’ve been through thick and thin together now, so isn’t there so bond between us?"

Paige replied, "Your thoughts are always filled with shalessness."

Henry’s expression stiffened, "You know, if I starve to death, it won’t do you any good either."

Paige continued eating without acknowledging him and finished the entire bowl of rice.

Henry, seeing her satisfaction, felt none himself.

"Paige, what do you think will happen if Julian Hawthorne finds you and learns that we’re living under the sa roof?"

Paige said nothing, and Henry continued with a smile, "I’m a man, I know what a man thinks. He surely won’t trust you as much as before, right? So why do you still long to return to him?"

He kept looking at Paige, even though she had her eyes closed, seemingly not listening to him at all.

"Paige, you know how I feel about you. Maybe you can’t let go of Julian now and don’t want him to doubt you, but eventually, you will believe it. By then, it might be too late. So, Paige, give a chance. It’s essentially giving yourself a chance. You’ll find soone better suited for you than Julian."

Paige was finally irritated by his self-absorbed speech, opened her eyes, and looked at him coolly.

"Henry Hale, do you think that getting to give up Julian Hawthorne for you will make you feel accomplished?"

She chuckled with sarcasm, "Choosing Julian, I’m willing to bear whatever consequences co. In choosing him, I’m also choosing to trust. And Mr. Hale, don’t overestimate yourself. Don’t even doubt it; you’re not even a match for Julian’s little finger."

Henry’s face darkened suddenly, "Are you so confident in Julian Hawthorne? Do you really think he won’t be suspicious?"

Paige gave a cold laugh, "At this point, I advise you not to disturb my rest; it’s no good for you either."

Henry, however, laughed, "Your desperate evasion of this issue shows you know Julian might not trust you as much as you trust him, right?"

Paige really didn’t know how Henry’s mind worked, how he could be so fixated on making her and Julian suspicious of each other.

"Mr. Hale, don’t overestimate your significance, rest assured, you’re not significant enough to make Julian and doubt each other. You don’t need to worry about our relationship; focus on yourself."

Paige’s faith in Julian made Henry jealous.

Seeing Paige’s unconditional trust in Julian, he felt consud by the flas of jealousy.

"Paige, what exactly do you see in Julian Hawthorne?"

Paige squinted, "You don’t need to know. Those things, you don’t have, and even if you did, you wouldn’t be him."

That kind of talk cut deep; Henry glared at Paige and then sneered, "Turns out you have no judgnt."

Paige was too lazy to mock him, "Turns out you’re shaless."

Disliking him ant she had no judgnt?

Paige’s expression was a massive slap in Henry’s face.

Henry took a deep breath, while Paige watched him like a joke.

"Mr. Hale, calm down. If your blood pressure spikes, your wound might worsen."

Who caused all this?

Henry was genuinely infuriated. Known for his calmness, he was now riled up by Paige, showing her surprising influence over him.

And before he realized it, he suddenly found a bamboo shard pressed against his carotid artery.

It was Paige. Her strength seed to have recovered a bit, now able to pose a threat to his injured state.

He chuckled, "Why don’t you make a move?"

"How does it feel to have sothing pressed against your throat?"

Henry shook his head, "If you haven’t acted by now, it ans you don’t really want to kill . Let guess, is it because you can’t bear to?"

Henry laughed to himself, "Even though your words say you hate , when it cos to truly acting, you hesitate."

Although Henry knew Paige’s hesitation had nothing to do with love.

But he was still pleased, thinking he could indulge in this thought a bit.

Watching his self-absorbed deanor, Paige showed no expression.

This stance had exhausted all of Paige’s accumulated strength. If she really tried to take down Henry now, he’d likely turn the tables on her.

So she didn’t make a move, just tested him a bit.

But doing nothing and watching Henry’s conceited face offended her eyes.

So Paige pushed away, using her last bit of strength to jab hard at Henry’s injured area.

Henry’s face contorted in pain.

Paige also collapsed onto the bed.

The outco was disastrous for both, and no one gained anything.

Henry winced in pain, "Paige, are you crazy?"

Paige replied, "Knowing I’m crazy, yet you provoke ; aren’t you courting death?"

Henry took a deep breath, struggling to sit up, "I’m injured right now, and you treat like this?"

Paige replied, "Compared to your tactics, I think I’ve been quite rciful."

The two glared at each other like mortal enemies with a deep vendetta.
